Had only the best experience with the hop on hop off bus company. The buses are modern and clean. A few times guests came back with a complaint, but the team always handled it professionally.

Purchased a 48 hour Muscat pass. What a difference on both Days. Day one: arrived onboard Celebrity Constellation, plenty of Big Buses, complete circuit taking 2 1/2 hours, bus every 30 minutes, wit... See more

Great way to see Muscat
Using the Big Bus was an easy way to see Muscat. The drivers and staff were very friendly. Using the onboard headphones enabled the listener to learn many interesting facts about the city. I would use Big Bus again.
An unmissable tour
This is a must-do in Oman. It's a great way to see the city, with an interesting commentary. The view from the top is awesome. It's also nice that you get a map and free water.
The drivers were very nice and helpful, even offering me a little extra time. When you book, make sure you realize that it doesn't cost much more for two days than one. I made the mistake of not even looking at the price for two days. The reason this is helpful is because you will probably want to go back and explore some of the places you see, and taxis are expensive. Even if you had only one place you wanted to return to, it would still be cheaper to have two days on the bus, rather than one day and take a return taxi.
BIC bus tours
Thanks for this great experience! The Tour was great, the besteht is to book the triple ticket with Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Thanks for this great Combo!
A great way to see Old Muscat in a day!
An excellent experience visiting many of the old historical places around Muscat. We took a second tour around without stopping just for photographs we missed the first time. A first class tour.
Great introduction to Muscat
Found the tour very informative, the commentary was excellent although the sound system on one of the buses could have been better. The staff was helpful and we would definitely recommend the tour to anybody. Liked the fact that free water was available on every bus.
Reyma, our tour organizer was very helpful
Reyma, our BigBus organizer was simple great, helpful, inderstanding and flexible. Thank you for that. We can only recommend BigBus to everyone, although the audio guide was not 100% up to date.
Love all Big Bus tours but Muscat was bad experience
1. First & foremost, we had booked the tour directly, online, & were actually cruising by the Royal Carribean to Muscat. So on the day of travel, the passengers who had bought the tour in the ship got the 1st preference to board, which was absolutely fine. We got in last and yet, we were almost thrown out of the bus very rudely by one Ms Laura, saying they were awaiting more passengers from the cruise and hence we will have to wait until the last ones came in. Well maybe she was right, but could have been told to us in a slightly better tone and language..we felt really insulted and like we were travelling free...
2. Unlike all the other big bus tours, the one in Muscat comes after more than 30-35 mins..in one case, we got off at the Al Alam Palace, took quick pictures from the entrance itself, and then had to wait almost 45 mins to get the next bus
3. The bus in Muscat does not stop near the landmarks..for eg. the Royal Opera House is a good 15-20 mins walk from the Hay As Saruj stop of the big bus and there are no sign boards anywhere as to where to go if one wished to tour the Royal Opera House
4. At the Marina Views, don't you think it is just a photo stop, if the bus asks all to get off and take a picture and get back in 5 mins, it will save a good 45 mins for all passengers, your buses in Canada do that at so many stops..where the driver takes a quick break as well
All in all Muscat was a bad experience...however, we had a combo ticket of Muscat / Dubai...Dubai was a fantastic experience with Big bus

Very good introduction to Muscat
A very good introduction to Muscat. We did a complete circuit without stopping, then a second circuit stopping at points of interest to us.
Great experience
It was one of the best tours that we've had. The story was good, the staff was professional and really friendly. At the end, they have even let us get off between stations to be able to catch a bus for the airport.
Totally recommend it!
I will recommend this tour for sure
Nice city, I like it! The Big Bus staff were friendly, the drivers drove very carefully, the buses were comfortable as they usually are, and the live commentary helped me understanding interesting facts of the local culture.
Wonderful tour! Enjoyed the trip at our own pace
We have enjoyed the trip very much; although it would've been better if more sights in Muscat was part of the tour. The staff were very friendly and surprisingly bilingual. Should new routes be introduced, we'd definitely take the tour again.
Excellent Experience
Great stuff, excellent staff, clean bus, helpful commentary.
Special boquets to the staff at the stop near the Opera House. It was the closest to our hotel, so they were the first Bus staff we met. Great on-booking service to other adventures too - they organised an excellent dolphin/snorkelling cruise including hotel pickup/return over the mobi at the bus stop - well done!
Best way to view Muscat
Full of information on Omani history and culture, highly convenient and cost-effective method to view Muscat. Would certainly recommend!
Good tour
Reliable service
Takes you around main areas of Muscat
Handy if you don't have access to car
Option of 48 hour ticket
The stops could have been more interesting and covered more of the city
The bus stopped at some places that looked like it was in the middle of nothing and I think there was a lot of more interesting places that the bus could have stopped.

The best big bus trip we had ever
Muscat Big Bus was one of the most wonerful attractions we had in Oman..
the picturesque routs it passed by were amazing
in addition to that, my young cousin was taking pictures by her I-pod and dropped it accidentally in the street .. all what we had in mind that it will definitely be crashed under the cars wheels.. without any doubt.. Surprisingly, a man found it and called the driver and they brought it back with no time.. around 10 minutes only!!!
We we're so happy with Muscat Big Bus and the friendly, polite and helpful driver :)
Get a Taxi Instead
The bus tour is waste of money. We rode down to the souk and then took a taxi back to the Crowne Plaza. 20 minutes late, the driver offered no excuse, much less an apology. If you get off, the bus doesn't come back for two hours. On most "stops" there seemed to be little to do or see.

Great way to see muscat
Big bus was ideal for me and my mum . We did the whole journey in one go, which lasted about 2 hours. We didn't hop off and on as we were told the bus was only running every 2 hours and there isn't enough to see and spend 2 hours at any of the stops, in my opinion. We were there during quiet time but when it's busier the buses may be more frequent and therefore hop on hop off would work. We loved just driving about and hearing about the history, the place, etc. The information you were being told was interesting and informative.
Horrible, timewasting, unteresting, not in time, awful
In Muscat there is only one route and normally the busses should go every 30 minutes. I booked a 48-hours-tour and the first day was Thursday. The busses came late and it was a lot of wasted time for waiting, but the second day was absolutely unacceptable.
I wanted to take the bus at 3:00 pm from the start at the souq. I arrived at 2:50 pm and waited in the shadow in front of the bus for the driver to open the door, but he didn`t come. At 3:25pm a lady from Big Bus Tours let me in the bus and told me it would leave in 10 minutes. Waiting for nearly an hour nothing happened and the lady was gone. At 4:45 pm she came and told us, the bus would leave at 5:00 pm for the last tour. No hop on and hop off :( Two hours of waiting waisted.
At 5:00 pm it started and we just could look from inside the bus all the places we wanted to visit, because the time was stolen. Lots of money for wasted time and no fun. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!
