Had only the best experience with the hop on hop off bus company. The buses are modern and clean. A few times guests came back with a complaint, but the team always handled it professionally.

Overpriced and not worth taking it in Muscat. It is better to take private tour.
We bought the Combo tickets
We bought the Muscat, Dubai, Abu Dhabi Combo tickets and had an excellent time. Our mother tongue is Spanish and we had no problems at all by using the earphones, switch the correct channel and listen to the commentaries in our language.
All 3 cities are wonderful, especially Muscat a beautiful city hiding among a hilly terrain and a beautiful shoreline.
Use only as a last resort
Very disorganized and stressful if you buy your tickets ahead of time online. Missed one bus in Dubai while guide, driver, supervisor (a real jerk) and office got together so I could get my tickets. Similar experience in Abu Dhabi. Would only go with Big Bus in the future as a last resort. Would advise against buying tickets online no matter what discount was offered. Most drivers are too lazy to bring bus to sidewalk so seniors don't have to deal with a very tall step in and out of bus. I know what I'm talking about because I drive a bus at Disney. Customer care is low priority.
Through Muscat via Hop and Off Bus
Positive
+ several languages (for us German) available for the virtual tour guide
Negative
- Mostly not possible to get the bus again after a short visite at the sightseeing stop
- additional stop Intervals required
- bus goes only in one direction
- quite expensive
Worst Big Bus experience ever.
Worst Big Bus experience ever.. we bought a 2 day premium ticket. Hoping to be able to travel and hop on and off. The first morning we waited for 2.5 hours for a bus that never came. Apparently on cruise ship days they change the buses to panorama and change the routes, you cant stop at some of the stops. Well no mention of that when we paid a fortune for tickets. No mention of that at the clearly sign boarded big bus stop that we waited at. So we had to spend more money catching a taxi in the town to be able to catch a bus. Same problem on the second day, we waited nearly an hour for a bus that should have come by every 30 minutes and eventually had to catch a taxi to ensure that we could get on last bus for the day.. Bus did not go to the Mosque - the biggest tourist attraction in Muscat...on either of the days. So again we had to pay for a taxi
Total rip off...are you catering only for cruise ships and not other tourists? We paid a fortune for two 2 day premium ticket and only managed to be on the bus for 3 trips...a total of 4 hours.
My advice to tourists rather pay for a taxi do the trip. More reliable, less expensive and you get to stop everywhere. My advice to Big Bus....please clearly put notices on your website, so that people know what to expect.
Muscat BigBus Tour: scandalous scam!!!!
This BigBus was a very poor experience, awfully expensive (60€!) and I would deter anybody to subscribe to your tour.
Better make a deal with a taxi driver to take you to Muscat main highlights.
Driver friendly at stops
Driver friendly at stops. Commentary excellent.
However, advertised as starting 9am and every two hours.
I arrived at 10.45 for 11am and found that first bus was 10am then 12.
Aircon OK on lower level, warm on top level.

Tour was good but expensive.
Very efficient and helpful service.
Big Bus is a great possibility to…
Big Bus is a great possibility to explore a new city. The Homepage is unfortunately complicate and not very usefull. There are Informations published which are not correct. Particular the Timetable about the cruiseships in Mascat and the hop on hop off course. We could not do the tour as we planed. Big Bus has promised that we get the money back.
A single traveller in Muscat......
As a single traveller in Muscat this was great value for money. I had a great day I saw and visited all the main places of interest in the city.
Start early so you can fit everything in.
Friendly helpful staff.
Good route
Good route. The route map online should be updated to include the additional stops, since that considerably would have changed my planning. Friendly bus drivers who are helpful.
Always a good idea to do a B.B tour
Always a good idea to do a B.B. tour of any city then decide where you’d like to see more of depending on the time you have in the city.
It’s always good an Muscat was no exception.
Convenient & Economical.
A very convenient & economical way (as compared to taking cabs) of seeing most of the highlights of Muscat. Efficiently run trips, every half-hour, helped in seeing various places at one's own pace.
Rene at Stop Number 1 was extremely helpful in planning this tour as well as another full-day tour to Jabel Shams.
Unlimited supply of drinking water bottles was a boon!
I only wish that they had included The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in their route.
Really annoying experience
Stops don't coincide between the app, the website map and the actual stops on the street. Very difficult to plan a trip. Irritating that some buses only go the cruise ships and are not for ticket-paying customers. Also, why does bus route not cover the number 1 tourist destination in Muscat - the mosque?
Overpriced experience
Overpriced experience. The children loved it and they were free (ages 3 and 4), so good value for them, but not for the accompanying adults. There is no point in the hopping off and on. It doesn’t go to the main attraction of Muscat which is the Grand Mosque and worth getting off at.
Expensive tickets, good overview
The tickets are rather expensive in relation of what is offered - we missed a stop at the most famous mosque; but all in all a good opportunity to get an good overview in little time.
The staff - both agents and drivers - is friendly and helpful.
The stops in the map were not the same as in reality; obviously the different buses have different stops;
For all who have to return to the ship in time: The tour cannnot be done in the time indicated.
WIFI did not work in the bus.
