Had only the best experience with the hop on hop off bus company. The buses are modern and clean. A few times guests came back with a complaint, but the team always handled it professionally.

Muscat, Abu Dhabi and Dubai great Tours with Big Bus
We did the journey in a tripple; Muscat; Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
The Tours are very good The Explanations are exellent with the Translation in 6 Language. We use the german Translation and everything was fine.
The Tours are well organized and all People of Big Bus are friendly and very helpfull.
For us it's sure. We did it again with the Company in an other City.
It was a very nice way of sightseeing …
It was a very nice way of sightseeing the cities Muscat, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
We have had recommend Big Bus Tours to another person yet.
I thought it was very overpriced
I thought it was very overpriced, although it was very pleasant to sit on the top deck and see the sights of beautiful Muscat. There should be more stops, for example, you're taken to see the Opera House, but the bus drives straight past and so you don't have the opportunity to get off and visit. The same can be said for the Friday market. Also, on the second day of my tour, the bust took a slightly different route to the day before, and didn't stop at the beach, where I'd planned to get off. Staff were great - thank you, Kevin!
Please instruct your passengers where …
Please instruct your passengers where the water and trash cans are. We had to sit on the first level by the box of water. We were constantly instructing every one else that the cool water was in a cooler a few rows back. Also people kept leaving their trash and empty water bottles in and around our seats. We spent every stop dealing with that mess. Then the recorded tour guide kept going out and resetting. I hope our tours in Abu Dhabi and Dubai are better.
Smallest router offered by any Big Bus
Smallest router offered by any Bigbus tour we have ever done. For the content and size of route the price for this tour was an absolute rip off!! The commentary was outdated and very weak in content. In it's current state and price I would never recommend this tour to anyone, in fact I will warn people away from it!
Very recommended
Great way to visit a Muscat with a punctual bus running by every 30 mins.
The audio commentary is good but the music very repetitive.
Drivers are very friendly and at times water was offered.
The cost is too excessive but worth it if you spread it over two days .
Total worth
Thank you Big Bus for making my trip special. I had the most wonderful trip around the city with The Big Bus Muscat. The buses were on time and the buses were driven safely. The coordinators and the drivers were very friendly, cooperative, and very professional. I was always welcomed with a smile. During my conversation with one of the drivers, I got an insight of the Omani culture and a taste of Omani hospitality and humbleness. I would just suggest to add few more stops like The Grand Mosque in the list of current stops. Also, the rates for people buying the tickets online in advance should be less compared to the spot purchase.
My overall experience with The Big Bus Muscat was amazing and I would definitely recommend it to tourists travelling to Muscat.
Excellent!
Used in Muscat when we arrived on a cruise ship. Had booked a triple ticket for Muscat, Abu Dhabi and Dubai on the Internet prior to our arrival. Direct booking easy and cheaper than prices charged by Royal Caribbean. Bus came right to the ship. Very pleasant staff, clean bus and a constant supply of bottled water. Given headphones to listen to a very clear and interesting commentary. Would recommend very highly.
Route bought online did not match the real route
We purchases the tickets online based on the presented route of the bus. When we stepped on the bus the route appeared to be changed (shorter than the one presented online).
This was a disappointment for us as our expectations were not met. We would have spend the 180 USD differently if we had known this before.
The lady on the bus just mentioned that it was bad luck...and that she could not help the information on their website was out-dated.
too expensive, mosque not included
I was looking forward to the known and open to the public mosque. Big Bus drives misses the most interesting tourist attraction
BIG BUS FROM MUSCAT CRUISE PORT
We did this bus tour on wednesday 22 feb.The tour started ok but thought it wasted a lot of time touring round muscat without stopping. The places it did stop at were ok but was not enough info-eg;the map given says it stops near the opera house, but there was no mention of this in the commentary. But was most annoying-the buses were not every 30 mins. At one stop we waited about 50 mins for a bus and when 1 did arrive were told it was full and had to wait.In the end we had to share a taxi back to the port. After spending a lot of money for the bus you do not expect to do this.Very poor value .Very poor tour and would not waste my money in future
Poor service and value for money
We purchased a two day ticket, and on day 1 we disembarked the ship to meet the bus and it was full. We were told that it would take 1hr - 1.5 hours for another one to arrive. We opted to take the ships courtesy shuttle to the old town to not waste our day. At lunchtime we boarded the Big Bus and did the whole 2hr loop - many of the people on it had said not to get off, as they were stranded in locations for over an hour. We didn't use it at all on day 2, as we feared we would miss our ship departure. So all in all, we used it for 2 hours. It represented both poor service and value for money. The whole thing about these tours is to have flexibility of jumping on and off, otherwise we would've just hired a taxi driver from the port at a fraction of the cost!!! not happy at all.
Never made it on the tour - does it even exist?
Having purchased the ticket, my 21-month old son and I went ahead to experience the tour. After 2 hours of searching for a bus stop and asking around (nobody has seen it) we have managed to locate a small stop by pure accident. another hour of waiting (although the advertised schedule claims that the bus runs every 30 minutes) and no bus to be seen. So we gave up.
The next day I downloaded the Big Bus application on my phone to find out that the buses run only once every 2 hours, meaning 4 times a day between 10.00 and 18.00. Since our hotel room window overlooked the bus stop from the distance I could keep an eye on it, yet I have never ever seen the bus arriving to the stop. Don't know about you, but I do not normally buy a ticket for USD 60 just to spend a day waiting for the bus or hoping it would arrive at all.
Money lost 100%, never use Big Bus again and will prevent my friends from doing so
No-show of the bus
I bought two 48-hour ticket and, having planned to visit most of Muscat on the second day of our ticket, on day two we were left stuck at the stop waiting for the bus that did not show up as planned, according to the information given to us the day before by one of the drivers. We had to leave that same evening and there was no other chance to visit the city. I had been in Muscat before but it was the first time for my friend. As a result of the poor service, she did not see Muscat which was the main purpose of our holiday.
Super service
We booked online the three centre package which worked very well for us and was cheaper than the cruise ship was offering. The service was good, regular and the staff were all without exception polite, helpful and made the tours more interesting by their knowledge and guidance.
Tour cancelled half way through because of road closures
Because the Sultan had visitors from Iran all of the roads from the Port to the Palace and beyond were closed. We had no notice of this until half way through the tour and we sat in a traffic jam for an hour before being taken back to the port. No proper explanation and when we asked for a refund or partial refund this was refused. We were told we could take the tour the following day but this was of no use as we were on a cruise ship leaving that evening.
Entirly unprofessional! Ruined our day.
We chose big bus a quick way to see the city on a 20hr layover. They advertised pickups every half hour, after waiting over an hour with several other groups we called the operator who told us they weren't operating that day due to low denand. After telling them a group was waiting we were told that they would send a bus... which never showed up.
Two weeks and three emails later the company still hasn't responded to my request for refund.
