I Love the points allowed, I love the opportunity to increase value, I love the protection this card affords. It is easy to pay, easy to use, easy to restrict if you so want to, it offers security, reliability, and accessibility.

Navy federal allowed Royal Farms to scam and fraudulently charge me $40.00 when I only got $5.61 worth of gas. Even after I submitted receipts and a letter from Royal Farms acknowledging their mistake and giving NFCU the option to do a chargeback Navy Federal still refuses to comply. I have witnessed around $18.00 cyphered out of my account as well. NFCU is totally mismanaging my account. I will send formal complaints soon to the appropriate administrative and governing organizations.

My experience with this credit union was incredibly disappointing; they lack a customer-first approach and are not supportive of military personnel. During my last interaction, the service was sluggish and unhelpful, as if they believed we had no other options. However, we made the choice to take our business elsewhere, and I encourage others to do the same.

I would literally give a zero if I could. I’ve been with this company, unfortunately for years and my family has as well and I absolutely cannot wait to cancel my account, which is why I haven’t been using my accounts and trying to pull all the funds out because they are terrible. This goes all the way through Customer Service, the branches managers at the branches, as well as just how they run the business. Every time I call Customer Service I never actually get helped. I always get transferred around to 1 million different people and my question never gets handled at the end of the day to where I just get exhausted with the entire process and just say forget it. That is absolutely ridiculous to be a 90% chance every time I reach out to them. I do think it’s very misleading that they advise all of these ways to help new people and help people get loans and I have a fine credit score and never have had any issues with my accounts with them and every single time I try to apply for a loan even if it’s a small amount even if it’s under $1000 I’m still not getting approved even though I have ample proof showing that I could easily pay the money back plus interest. It’s absolutely ridiculous. Even the reps that are helping me don’t understand why I’m not getting approved because they’re saying all my ducks are in a row, and I look exactly like all the other applicants who have been approved. I highly believe that this company has something against me personally even though I have no idea why I’ve never worked for this company. I’ve never dealt necessarily with anybody in the CEO or higher up, but I definitely will be sending a message to them. Again, I cannot wait to close this account and I will never ever ever use this business again and I will never ever ever recommend this business to anyone I know, and I am an retired military personnel. This is absolutely ridiculous service and I will be making it known my opinion on this on all platforms possible.

I had the worst experience with Navy Federal.
Edit: this is still the case, but just to respond to the below response: I absolutely did call everyone that I needed to in order to get my issue resolved, and not one person could help me at Navy Federal. I didn’t go here as a first resort I did also leave feedback internally, and you can see it in your records under Amber Rivette.
First of all, being Navy, (Happy bday Navy today!) I did not want to sign up with them while in Boot Camp because I found out that they’re SRCA APR rates were higher than civilian institutions like Chase Bank, Comenity, etc.
I already belong to First Entertainment Credit Union and they have been so wonderful to me for over 10 years.
That being said, the only reason why I ended up getting a debit card for this account was because my aunt sent me emergency relief money that I was able to access through Navy Federal.
I had to wait in a gigantic line just to get my bank card because they would not send me one in the mail. I was late to my grandfather’s funeral in order to access my emergency funds where I had to pay bills immediately.
On top of that, I was scammed about $700 during the process. I reported it to them immediately, noticing that I was 700 in the negative. They said they would help me take care of it and they encouraged me to make a police report, which I did within 48 hours.
Upon checking the status of this, they said that helping me was out of their scope. They said that they sent me resources that I could explore on my own time via email, which they did not. I checked my spam, there was nothing.
On top of that, how are you going to tell a veteran who’s already going through a crisis situation that you’re not going to help them and to try and explore more resources independently?
So I decided I was going to allow the negative balance to a crew until it closes by itself.
I can’t believe the lack of respect and support they have for veterans, especially the Navy.

The experience was good. Most of the representatives who helped us were very informative and responsive. However we felt that the main person in-charge of our loan made the experience a little more stressful for us. We wished she was more responsive and answered more of our questions. But when we asked other reps, they were fantastic.

I appreciate the friendly, knowledgeable tellers and their ability to work efficiently without making me feel rushed. I have found this with each visit to the NFCU.

Relatively easy and straightforward process. It was nice to not have to travel back and forth to the nearest branch and just have it all done online, even the signing! If I had to gripe though, it took a little extra time getting our checks and card after closing. Not a big deal, we were just excited to get our financial plan rolling ASAP.

Staff was very knowledgable and answered all my questions and concerns in a timely manner. Would work with them again!

After nearly 20 years with Navy Federal, I was shocked by how my fraud claim was handled. My experience with Navy Federal's fraud department was extremely disappointing. This involved a card-not-present debit transaction for more than $4,000 at a car dealership in a state about 10 hours away. I reported it within 60 days, yet the focus was on questioning and blaming me rather than holding the merchant accountable for failing to follow processes meant to ensure authorization. This was an unusual situation that deserved careful review. Instead, my claim was denied with little transparency and no clear explanation of how the decision was reached.
