Avoid these timewasters!

Jones & Chapman arranged a viewing of a property I was interested in - and then they failed to turn up. No-one picked up the phone in the office, no apology, I had to call them to find out what had gone wrong. The appointment had not been entered into the diary apparently. They did send me some pics - but I was out of pocket in terms of fuel and Mersey Tunnel fees. When I requested they reimburse me for my expense due to their failure they failed to respond. Avoid them - unless you enjoy cowboy movies . . . New review

Avoid jones and chapman at all costs

Avoid jones and chapman at all costs. I was accepted to rent a property for me and my 2 children. Went through all security and financial checks and was accepted. Had 3 move in dates delayed at last minute because of safety checks failed on property, then waiting for paperwork. Each time I was assured It will definitely be this date and had to cancel van, people that were helping me move and taking time off work to move. On the final day that I was assured I would get my keys. Packed up my whole house. Waiting to sign contract. No contact with them. Phoned them and they said unfortunately the landlord has pulled out because they are not happy you need a guarantor. I had already been passed 2 weeks previously with a guarantor. Was basically homeless with my 2 young children. Jones and chapman apologised and said let me assure you we won't deal with these people again, which is no concelation. 2 days later the house is back up to let with Jones and chapman. Absolutely unscrupulous, disgraceful estate agents. Still haven't got my holding deposit back aswell

I was unfortunate enough to have to…

I was unfortunate enough to have to deal with Jones & Chapman in Heswall after the closure of the West Kirby Branch.
I would describe them as a business that had no focus whatsoever on customer care.
A very painful experience.

I can’t do offensive words but if I…

I can’t do offensive words but if I could I would. Jones & Chapman of Liscard, Wallasey, have put our experience of buying our first house a living nightmare. They are the biggest bunch of cowboys, feed you lies, use bullying tactics to take more of your money. The manager Helena has no interpersonal skills, is very demanding and ever so rude. If you are considering selling or buying your home please avoid! Save your money and go to Harper & Woods instead.

Unprofessional incompetent Agents

I tried contacting Jones & Chapman (Allerton Rd) on 28th and 29th March on a number of occasions only for the call to ring out to voicemail. After numerous attempts I finally got through to somebody on the 30th who advised that he was in the lettings department and couldn't assist but would pass my details on to the sales team to return my call.

Having had no return call I called back on 1st April and spoke to a representative in the Sales department who was unable to answer any of my basic questions about the property. He advised that he was new and would obtain further information and return my call to advise further and also an appointment date to view the property.

Having had no return call I called back again on 6th April and got through to the same person after several attempts. I was told the exact same information and it was apparent that no attempt had been made to contact the Vendor to arrange an appointment. He advised that he would now treat this as urgent and also escalate the viewing. Having still had no response I called back again on 11th April on 3 occasions reaching answer machine every time. I left an urgent message on their voicemail on the last occasion asking for the Manager to return my call. Needless to say 3 days later no response from anybody.

I appreciate that I am not a Client and they have no obligation to me in terms of customer service but if this is how they are operating their business I would not instruct them to sell a property on my behalf. I am now contacting the Vendor direct.

No stars

I’d give no stars if I could. I tried to arrange a viewing but no-one returned my numerous voicemail messages or replied to e-mails. I then discovered that someone who works at the estate agent had put an offer in on the property. Maybe this is why they weren’t keen to contact me, despite the seller still wanting viewings to take place.

I’d give no stars if I could

I’d give no stars if I could. I’m a cash buyer and have left numerous voicemails ( no one ever answers) emails, emails through right move and in fact right move themselves emailed them with my details too when I told them I can’t get through. I messaged their face book page- still nothing ! This has gone on for over a month. I’d never try and sell through them. There’s a property I’ve been trying to view for over a month !!

Treated disgustingly

Treated disgustingly, left with damp and mould in the house, compensation for a non working boiler not given.
Glad to be away from these letting agents, worst experience I’ve ever had.

Dissapointed

Just sold my house with Jones and Chapman. I would say the only person who was helpful was Carol from the Allerton Road branch .
My experience with the sales progresser was not a good one , I was told off like a naughty school girl if I ever called up to ask for updates. I told them how I felt and that I am paying them for a service, that's when they got nicer as it was coming to the end and don't want a bad review.
There is also a lady by the name of Karon, she was the one who hounded me to choose Jones & Chapman , once I agreed she told me I shouldn't be calling her for help and passed me on , said she was very busy, then vanished!.
I am a nurse and I am very busy too. I will never use this estate agents again , nor recommend you to anyone.
Thanks again to Carol for your help when I needed it.

Maria.

Would NEVER recommend...

We were recommended a solicitor by J&C Heswall - who was based in Leeds ?? This solicitor was beyond useless and provided an appauling service resulting in unnecessary and unacceptable delays and expense. I found out that J&C received a commission in excess of £400 from this solicitor; perhaps this motivated J&C more than looking after their customers....

Disgusting and Dishonest service

Tried FOUR TIMES to meet with one of their mortgage advisors just so we could get a viewing and they flaked out EVERY TIME, what a complete waste of time not to mention money we spent on travelling to their office.

Then they have the nerve to send us adverts for other properties that 'we may be interested in', making this whole experience reek of a bait and switch.

If you, reading this right now are the said mortgage advisor or had any part to play in this then I hope you are ashamed of yourself for brazenly messing us around and the absolute least you could do is compensate us for the time and money wasted.

Very unprofessional!

Got in touch with them to purchase a property, have just put an offer through, but the experience just up to this point has been extremely disappointing!

Viewings were not organised very well, wasted over an hour waiting to view a property and it turns out they didn't know who ever was supposed to take us isn't. The person at the office didn't think this was disorganised and was very rude!

Put an offer on a property that was confirmed it's no longer under auction, but it is!

Not helpful or professional at all!

Do not recommend!

I'm trying to buy a property in Liverpool

I'm trying to buy a property in Liverpool. I had agreed to meet a mortgage advisor with J&C but, having had three similar quotes, decided one more wasn't necessary. I didn't hear from J&C again despite calling and emailing about properties. I finally got a response. This was after a week of a few attempts to make contact. I was told the property I wanted to view had been sold already to a priority buyer - meaning someone who had met with the J&C mortgage advisor. I explained that I didn't need a mortgage. It became clear the mortgage advisor is considered a necessity if wanting to purchase through J&C. I have never been sent a property by J&C and have not managed to arrange a viewing with them. It's clearly a waste of my time (as a first time buyer with a mortgage in principle in place) to use this estate agent. I just want to buy a property from an estate agent and I don't need a mortgage.

TL;DR J&C isn't interested in you as a buyer unless you see their mortgage advisor
