Incompetent

It's a shame you have to give them a star at all. Very friendly at first took all our details and soon after that person left. None of pur details were passed over and after being with them for 3 months we practically had to start again. Ignored all our wants when sending over properties to view and just sent over any old property.

When trying to arrange a viewing, all enquires were ignored. On another viewing that was booked, they cancelled the day before and would only offer times unsuitable. Incompetent is the nicest word the perfectly describe them. I actively avoid properties they're involved in because there's simply no point.

Would not recommend for conveyancing (Little Sutton branch)

Not happy at all with the service we got from J&C’s Little Sutton branch. They weren’t proactive or particularly helpful. It never felt like they were acting on our behalf. The only time they were enthusiastic was when they were pitching for the commission and agreeing their fee. Wish that we had used another agent.

Absolutley extortionate

Absolutley extortionate. Over £3,000 in fees and the staff are of zero help.

You get a "progression officer" who is always weeks behind and expects you to update them.

Save your money! You do the work anyways. They just collect at the end.

Awful service

Awful service
Extremely poor service from start to finish.
We used the Allerton Road branch they do not answer the phone, respond to emails or give any feedback.
They overvalued the property, so much so, that they asked us to reduce the sale price by £40,000 within 10 days of it being on the market. They set a fixed fee ( no mention of VAT) on original property value therefore receiving £700 more than they should have.
We exchanged and completed in May 26 and communicated with our buyer directly as Jones and Chapman did not bother to contact us.
Please do not use them.

Communication was awful

Communication was awful. We put an offer in on a house and waited days to hear back. The whole time they did not mention another vendor offering. I had spoke to them in between to see what was taking so long to hear. Then said we’d been outbid. No mention of any other offers. Not really apologetic and couldn’t care less.

PLEASE DON'T USE THEM. RUBBISH

PLEASE DON'T USE THEM, they are rubbish. This Allerton road office are about as a useful as a chocolate fire guard. They rarely answer their telephone and when you leave a message they never get back to you, the same with emails, they never even acknowledged my email when I cancelled my contract with them. Most of the viewers that I had told me they had terrible trouble trying to get through to them, some of them had to go down physically to the office. I had to take over the viewings of my late mother's house after the first three they did on my behalf because the alarm system went off. On the 3rd occasion the back door to the property was left open and the door to the garden was open.

Complete scammers and theives

Well I would like to say I'm shocked to see such bad score but after the phone call Ov just had im not. Rented a property back in 2016 was in a round about way warmed the landlord was a difficult man but wanted our kids to go the local school and that's all that was available we stuck it out for 8 years. The house falling apart around us and the landlord fixing NOTHING. So we left once our kids education was complete in Jan 2024. Then began the second war. The war with J&C trying to get my nearly £1500 deposit back is impossible. Being told I had to contact TDS for them to say not J&C have it now they are saying unless I can get a letter from Lucifer to say we can have it they wont give us it as they never managed the property. Well the guy could be dead for all I know as I have no contact details for his as he changed them over the years and never gave them to me. So now I got to court just what I need right now

The worst experience

The worst experience

Have just bought a house and am absolutely appalled with the service received from Jones and Chapman Moreton & Greasby. Unprofessional, rude and miserable staff. Have had to take this complaint to a Solicitors because they just didn't care about the severity of the inconvenience caused on handover day. Would now never sell a house with them nor would I want to purchase one up for sale with them.

I wish I could give less than one star

I wish I could give less than one star. Jones Chapman Allerton Road - what a mess. Consistently lieing to me, getting things wrong, overcharging me, telling lies to the tenant, not following through with what they have said. They say 'I will ensure this will be sent over now' then radio silence for 5 days. This has been much more hard work than managing the property myself. Avoid at all costs.

Agent lied to get commission

I started the process of buying a property and was using Jones and Chapman as a Mortgage Broker. They charge a lot more than other people (£600 +£99 admin fee) but felt it was worthwhile as they were knowledgeable and it was my first time buying.

The agent did liaise with the estate agent I was putting in an offer for but didn't really negotiate on my behalf, just went in with the asking price - which I certainly could have done myself and probably cost me more money.

It came to locking in the mortgage after the offer was accepted and I was about to go into the office when the agent began to tell me everything else I needed, which was life insurance and income protection. When I said I will source these myself when needed (lets not forget my mortgage wasn't even secured at this time let alone had the keys) I was told 'you need a broker for these'. Which is 100% not the truth. I have had these before so I knew I was being lied to. Knowing this my trust in them had gone and it was clear this was where they tried to make some commission - as if the £700 they were making from being my broker wasn't enough.

As a person with no dependents I politely declined life insurance and said this was something id explore further down the line, I was then told word for word 'sure, just die and leave all of your debt to your family.' Absolutely disgusting way to try and guilt someone into buying something that isn't required when purchasing a home so they can get your commission. As a first time buyer this felt like I was being taken advantage of.

I cancelled my next meeting with them and never heard back. You are literally a walking money sign to these agents. Go to a local broker who you feel you can trust

Think Twice

Here's a review you can use:

I am extremely disappointed with Sequence Letting Agency (Jones & Chapman letting subsidiary).
Since moving into the property, I have faced numerous issues including dampness, poor heating, and low water pressure. These problems were first reported in November 2024, but despite my repeated attempts to get them resolved, the issues still persist due to their unprofessional and untimely responses.

The property has become uninhabitable, and I have had to serve notice on the lease. However, Sequence is now demanding that I pay all bills until they find a new tenant, despite the 12-month contract. This is completely unacceptable.

I strongly advise against putting your trust in Sequence. Their poor communication and lack of professionalism have made this experience incredibly frustrating.

All bad reviews not surprised!

All bad reviews not surprised!

I have had a frustrating experience with the lettings department in the Prenton branch due to poor communication and a lack of professionalism. Emails are frequently ignored or followed up, and important information is not forwarded as it should be. The team seems disorganized and unresponsive, failing to follow up on queries in a timely manner. The overall customer service has been lackluster, with little effort to keep tenants or landlords informed. A more proactive and efficient approach is desperately needed to improve the quality of service. Unfortunately, based on my experience I would not recommend dealing with this department.

All rude staff aswel!

One star is too much for this agency

One star is too much for this agency. Constantly asking to view houses and get no reply or get told the property isn’t open for viewing yet but then it’s taken a day later. Very unfair towards clients. Rude on the phone with a can’t be bothered attitude. Home owners, please stop using this agency!

Allerton Branch - Go elsewhere

I used the Allerton Branch to handle the sale of a property. From the offset, the service was poor. The ladies in the office were clueless, unhelpful and lacked professionalism.
Their handling of the sale was by far the worst I have experienced as an experienced Landlord. Save your money - avoid at all costs.
