It's all too hard for them.
I waited until I lodged my BAS. Their team guided me through the migration. The first red flag was when they didn't know the answer to some obvious questions. They told me 72 hours to migrate but it finished as soon as it started. I told them I had a confirmation email but no data. They insisted I waited 3 days. 10 days later, the migration still hasn't happened. It's all too hard.
Quickbooks sales are making promises…
Quickbooks sales are making promises they cannot keep.
When I speak to them they just say it is not their problem!! Very frustrating.
Quickbooks website says they can migrate the data from MYOB within 5 business days for free.
I signed up with them on 20/6/24.
It is now 8/7/24 and the migration has not been done.
MMC (the company that does the migration) is not answering the phone or replying to emails.
What am I supposed to do??
Do NOT purchase before trialling and trial extremely well
Had my hour onboarding session, I actually knew more than the person who was meant to be helping me. Any question out of the normal, he fobbed me off, cut me short after 20 minutes and left.
It was also going to cost me more than an extra $200 per month to do the following basic tasks.
1.Bring sales in from my websites and ebay
2.Bring transactions in from PayPal (you can connect to PayPal for online purchases directly from Quickbooks) but not from your websites.
3. Stock useless - you cannot have different prices for your stock so it will not work if your prices are higher on any online store including ebay. So would have to use an actual stock control software that linked to my stores at the cost of $98 to $495 depending on the system.
4. When you ask how do you do this, it is always, we have an app for that that you can purchase. Their system is NOT cheap, it is extremely expensive.
5. An extra $5 per person on the payroll, is ridiculous.
And to top it off, I did not qualify for a refund, what I experienced was not classed as out of the ordinary.
1 star is too much for this product
1 star is too much for this product. I have a Pro Account, decided to grow my bookkeeping business this year and gained a new client. Imagine my surprise when it wont allow me to use my wholesale account and wants to charge me $50 a month for this clients account. When I try to get hold of the account manager that is allocated to my file I received an email failure notice. When I called customer service I was told that they cannot do anything and that is the email. I tried explaining that I need this fixed and need to contact the account manager linked to my account (apparently I cannot speak to anyone else) which is fine if they had a current email address!! oh and no phone number is provided for them. Just ridiculous. They told me they would check and call me back within an hour, I received a call back 4 days later! I'm beginning to think I should go over to MYOB, might be an easier transition and less headache!
The customer service from hell...
The customer service is the worst I've ever experienced.
An accounting software should be easy to set up and operate, but the customer support is so incompetent that it's taken me hours, and it still is not in order.
Before you sign up, please note:
1. The customer support centre is in India. The support personnel is hard to understand and they don't answer your questions directly. I hung up out of frustration.
2. If you choose the 'chat' option - they simply stop responding, or the conversation disconnects.
3. Everything seems to be out of the support personnel "expertise". While on the phone I was transferred to a colleague 3 times. No one could fix the problem.
I'm sure the software is good when it's functional but without adequate support personnel, this is a definite NO GO for me..
A one star review is too much
A one star review is too much. They are nothing more than a total rip off. Increased the charges without informing me-from $2.99 to $20! Rang up to discuss, and was told you can only contact via email. I could understand if I was informed via email re price rise, but nothing!! Save yourself the grief and give them a huge miss.
Intuit product at its "best"
I accidentally made a typo in my email when I was registering my account and I have spent ages trying to fix it - first an hour or so with the support person who was trying to help but clearly didn't know what she was doing; then I submitted an official request to change an email with drivers licence as requested only to have it denied as they "couldn't find the account". I am out of options now and I can't even delete the stupid thing as I need a confirmation code which they conveniently sent by email (even though they do have my phone number as a backup option). Not customer-friendly to say the least. Will never use this product again, so much time wasted!

Issues aren't fixed
I have contacted customer support 3 times so far over the last 6 weeks as I cannot email remittances via "Batch Actions" without the system crashing. It is yet to be resolved. I was promised it will be resolved beginning of November when they did the system upgrade, but it's now the 14th and it still doesn't work. They keep telling me the matter has been escalated, however unless the backend IT team is incompetent, the "escalation" has been put on the bottom of the list. I cannot send remittances out and it is frustrating and should not be happening. Very, very disappointed.

Worst customer service team ever
For the last month I've been trying to get one of the QuickBooks customer service team to help me with their mileage tracker. It never works properly. I've tried everything, I've even been to Samsung. But too make it even worse every time I call the customer service team they say they'll look into or speak with their manager and call me back and they never do. A couple of times they've tried to call me back but only in the times I say I'm busy don't call. It's like they're doing it on purpose. I'm now going to have to go to Fair Trade to try and get my money back.

Great features. Unreliable product and non-responsive service to raised issues
I've been using Quickbooks since late 2016. The features are great however if something goes wrong in QBO, you just have to hope it doesn't impact your business greatly as no chance of getting the issue resolved or even responded to.
QB assistant provides irrelevant answers.
Same for QB community with irrelevant answers and repeated incorrect answers not understanding various users questions.
Look up an issue that you would expect to have an easy fix for and you see a post from another frustrated user with same issue unresolved for months and even years.
I don't even ask for help through live chat any more as that was taking forever and I was often figuring out some kind of solution before the live chat got to any kind of answer.
Phoning for help generally involves a conversation with someone very pleasant yet unfortunately unable to resolve my issue or pass me to anyone with that influence or ability.
A ticket may be raised but I'm not sure what happens as never any communication on progress. I'm just assured everything will be alright - when it's clearly not, over time.
It gets costly with a major issue such as almost every invoice I've sent QBO displaying as undeliverable (in Aug 2022, almost every invoice and from Nov 11th it's started again with almost every invoice). I'm receiving payment from most customers so obviously most invoices are received, some payments display in QBO bank feed, some not so it's more than messy. I'm needing to check everything manually and much to my distaste, at times I need to involve my customers in my problem with my QBO by asking my customers questions that I otherwise wouldn't need to.
I was told by QBO that this ongoing issue wasn't happening to every customer so they didn't communicate it! They've never communicated when there's been any ongoing issue. I'm thinking if it's not happening to everyone, the IT staff dealing with it would want some detail on what's happening from their QBO customers who are dealing with it, particularly with my customers experiencing something different to what my QBO screen is displaying. With no details requested and no progress, it leads me to believe it's probably not being worked on and not of concern as not happening to all.
Fed up with the situation, I finally gave in and my Accountant changed me to Xero yet it didn't have the features I need for quoting, split invoicing etc so here I am returning to QBO having (unwisely?) decided to choose required features over unreliability.
On return, my problem is still unresolved, no idea on any progress, just provided a 'work around' to keep me occupied & inconvenience my customers in the meantime.
If I know that it is actually being attended to then I can stay with QBO and have the convenience of years of my data being in one space & not again paying dual fees while I setup another package.
In QBO, one of my bank accounts hasn't updated the bank feed since August. I can't update or re-link - action not allowed as it's already linked. I raised a ticket for that a week ago and no progress and no communication.
Just looked up to see how to update time zone as noticed all the invoices I sent this morning are displaying as undeliverable & sent as if sent yesterday afternoon - googling options online to fix
the time zone and the solutions offered are not even within my company settings in QBO.
What a shame for a product which has so many amazing features for small businesses.

I need a system that works.
I really liked this system at the start of using it. I was able to learn the system step by step as most things are self explanatory and the videos are clear and easy to follow. I found the chat to a human option very responsive and supportive.
However the last two months have been so frustrating and still no solution. QB stopped linking to my bank, error 103. I have spoken with tech support a couple of times and though they try to help, it has not been fixed. This has been very difficult to do pays and EFY requirements. I have paid full fees even though I do not have a fully functioning system.
I now have to change systems to one that works and will have to learn all over again. Not a good use of my time.

A great choice of accounting software
As a bookkeeper, I highly recommend QBO as a software of choice for small business owners. It is intuitive and practical accounting software with wonderful technical support, making it a great option for the less experienced bookkeeper or business owner.

The BAS function is great, and it's very user friendly. In the event you do need support, there is online help and chat options. Great accounting solution and very competitively priced.
