I was referred to Mutual of Omaha by "AI" as the best Reverse Mortgage Company. Our agent, Peter Marcus, was assigned to our application and he made our Reverse Mortgage Possible. Due to the extreme complexity of our application, my wife and I had been rejected by other financial institutions for Reverse Mortgage consideration. Peter took the time to research our application and outlined a course of action. He reviewed each step and recommended solutions to any issues. Underwriting had many requests, each of which were explained to us by Mr. Marcus. We responded as requested. The highest standards of integrity and morality were always maintained. Although our process took much longer than initially anticipated, we eventually crossed the finish line. Our lives in retirement are now secure thanks to Mutual of Omaha and Peter Marcus. They make an awesome team. FIVE STARS does not fully convey our satisfaction!

This is very serious. Today, I called a number listed for refinancing my reverse mortgage, 800-511-6783, then I was told to call what turns out to be their customer service number also listed on my Monthly Reverse at 866-654-0020 which my cell phone alerts me as a telemarketer scam call to "Champion Mortgage," with an "!" in red, not Mutual of Omaha Reverse Mortgage and the woman didn't answer the phone in "a normal" kind of way, like "hello," and of course won't give out her last name, though they know your name... it's more scamming, and the call preferences with "this call is being recorded (as a means for) collecting a debt." I just wanted information about refinancing my reverse mortgage, and it was clear to me she was more part of the scam... I'm a pretty bright guy... this was a large mistake, for a number of reasons, and the way I've been treated by their customer service agents over the phone, and as I've complained on other websites, the people who were paid 7,600.00 in fees for this loan, which I'll have to pay off, were not only unprofessional, but abusive was really extortionist as well... "I'm going to have my partner..." (implying you may not get the loan by the way you're speaking to me now) right up until granting the loan.

Update:
"We take your concerns seriously," well I did call that number and after at least 5 minutes of ads and bs, no they DON'T take your concerns seriously, you're being recorded "in order to repay a debt." I also sent them emails twice to that email address. No response. Ok, criminals are criminals, period. What should happen to all the dishonest and criminally minded people in the world?

Cliff Townsend was my go to guy who helped me in any way he could.
Everybody that I dealt with with Mutual of Omaha has helped me out tremendously and compassionate.

Cliff townsend went above and beyond helping us through the process. Any time we had questions we would call him and if he did not have the answer he would get it and get back with us asap

My mortgage officer, Alainna he was very helpful and patient and guided me through the process… She was very easy to reach when I needed her or had questions… Extremely responsive and helpful…

Peter (and his staff) was very knowledgeable and guided us through the process always explaining clearly what was happening and why. When we had a couple problems along the way he gave us excellent advice and was very encouraging and helped to get it sorted out. Peter is a fine person and a pleasure to visit with and deal with. We couldn't have had a better experience!

I am so glad to have had John Briggs from Mutual of Omaha in San Diego to work with my wife and me on our reverse mortgage, from early May thru this week (July 23rd). John was always available for many long conversations which allowed for detailed insight and understanding. Everything worked out so well... my heartfelt gratitude to John and others on his team !

A gentlemen by the name of Peter Marcus and his immediate Supervisor were terrific. They helped me navigate the whole process I was involved in. From all the paperwork required to rendering explanations when necessary. Thank you both for all your time and assistance.

I was anxious about taking the step of getting a reverse mortgage but Peter Marcus made the process easy and put my mind at ease. He is very knowledgeable about this process and was very helpful at every step along the way. He is a very pleasnt, likeable person to do business with and at the end I feel he is a my friend. I definitely recommend him.

I’m happy with the company and grateful the loan process worked out. That said, there were a few bumps along the way—mainly delays and communication gaps. Strengthening responsiveness and urgency would make the experience even better.

It is virtually impossible to acces my account online. I wait HOURS for a verification code which is texted to me. By that time I cannot log in as it has timed out.
I have asked about this before but never recieved an answer.
So I have to rate my experience as bad.
My only recourse is to fax my requests.

When I first met Rodney Kalb by phone several months ago, I had decided no Reverse Mortgage for me! Another local agent for a competing company had been here at my home in person and I had invited my CPA to be present. He had four various scenarios to present. We did not think this was a solution. Too little money up front and too controlling. Oh, but Rodney told his short story, sent me some concepts and it all made sense. If it did not, he was quick to return calls and explain matters to me that were certainly out of my wheelhouse. As my life began to interrupt the process, he was a savvy pro; never was there a "tone" in his voice and, together, we were able to move matters along. We chose not to let too much time pass, for I wanted him to know he was my choice.
That Reverse Mortgage I had been against, became the best player for my needs and Mutual of Omaha came through. Due to my own corporate business life in New York, I had become a more than average "reader of people" on the phone. Your office in San Diego should be proud to have Rodney on your team.
This is one terrific employee who even called me on his cell during personal time! Who does this in today's society? Well, I know who and he brought me through this process calmly and with the answers I needed.
He read me clearly and even had some pride in my understanding of the process! His personality had a bit of everything I admire. Had he come into my Manhattan office for an interview, my getting to YES would have bolled him over. His total persona is one of experience, friendly, humorous, smart, quick to understand and honest. Without him, I doubt this would have come together. He had me believe that he cared doing the right thing. I did and he delivered.
