Absolutely disgusted! Didn't turn up for viewing appointment!!!

Absolutely disgusted! RAYLEIGH BRANCH
Got a notification from Rightmove that a property had gone on the market, called Abbotts straight away but couldn’t get through to anyone for 3 hours! How can everyone be out of the office, do they not want to make sales?!
3 attempts and left msgs, finally got a call back, they couldn’t take me to view the property until 2 days later! (WHY?) Lady took all my details and we booked in the appointment for the Friday - 2 days later.
Upon my viewing date and time, we waited outside the property and when no one showed, I called their Rayleigh office only to be told I wasn’t in the diary and they had no intention of meeting us and in addition the property was sold 2 days earlier (Wednesday) despite me making the appointment on the very same Wednesday! the day it was put on the market. The for sale sign didn’t go up until the Thursday a day after I made the appointment and a day after it was supposedly sold!?
It’s now a week later and the property is still up for sale online and the For Sale sign is still showing for sale. No sign of a SSTC. Seems to me like these useless agents just couldn’t be bothered to show up for a viewing on a Friday afternoon!!! Your loss Abbotts, I was going to put in an offer for full asking price. Would never view anything or sell a property through these pathetic excuses for Estate Agents! Don’t waste your time or money, they cannot be bothered. COMPLETE TIME WASTERS!

My son and his young family have been…

My son and his young family have been renting from Abbott’s for about five years now. Their landlord went up in the loft and put his foot through the ceiling in their bathroom. Huge hole and mess everywhere which my daughter in law cleaned up. There is water coming through the roof and there is wires everywhere. Landlord is taking his time getting it fixed. My son went to Abbott’s and asked if they could help and they turned around and said
“No we can’t, you can hand your notice in if you want too”. I
Beyond belief Abbots, they have two young children one with Asthma and you suggested they make themselves homeless by handing in there notice if they are not happy. You are a big joke and all as you care about is the money. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL I am disgusted at you.

Mildenhall - No communication & false hope

Abbott's Mildenhall
In 16 weeks we had a total of 0 viewings. I would not recommend Abbott's estate agents in Mildenhall. The service was poor. Very bad communication and customer service. We experienced mistake after mistake with these agents with no apologies or ownership of errors.

Since the very beginning we had many issues with the estate agent (Spencer Bartley).

Initially we decided to go back to Abbotts for the sale of our house as we bought our house from them 3 years ago and had a good experience.

However the Manager we previously dealt with retired, and the communication between them and us had noticeably changed in a bad way. Spencer (the new branch manager) told us that he prices houses to be sold quickly and efficiently. Later on we realised that he massively over priced our house to get us to sign the contract. After having no interest, I had to contact Spencer as I felt that he was not communication or guiding us in regards to reducing the price.

After still not having any interest, we decided to get another estates opinion. Spencer said that we cannot go multi agency, however we later realised he did not fill out our contract properly meaning the contract was void, therefore he had to oblige. With the new estate agent we soon got some viewings and was updated regularly with sound advice/guidance.

The couple of viewings that did get scheduled with Abbott's got cancelled very last minute. AND our final experience with Spencer... After cleaning our house, myself and my partner left our house for a viewing that one of the Abbotts agents arranged. I received a phone call from Spencer asking why I wasn't at my house, I told him that he should have a key as requested by Spencer at the earlier stages of this horrible service. Spencer refused to believe that I left a key at the estate agent. On arriving home, we was met by Spencer with our door keys. He struggled to apologised still not taking any ownership of being at fault. Further more, even if they thought they didn't have a key he should have confirmed that I should be at my house to let them in, however there was no communication of this at all.

Harry at Abbotts Ipswich

Abbotts, Ipswich - Harry - what can I say, what a lovely person and an amazing Estate Agent. He is friendly, positive and very professional and above all else has the patience of a Saint. He put my elderly mother at ease when she was looking to move home. She changed her mind so many times yet he continued to show us all support and had so much patience with my mother when the rest of us where at the end of ours. We plan to move ourselves next year and we will look to Harry first to sell our house and to buy one through him. SO IMPRESSIVE. Thank you so much Harry for all you did for us. You deserve recognition for what you done.

Wouldn't use them if there was only one Estate Agent...in the world.

I have previously put my property on the market with Abbotts. Firstly, they were not very good listeners at all. They wouldn't listen to comments about how I knew my house after living there for around a decade (at the time) & when it comes to photographs (on Rightmove) apparently less is more according to them. I eventually removed the property from the market unsold but they had the cheek to ring me one day & TELL ME that I needed to put it back on again with them. They are very corporate, money focused & employ high-pressure generic employees (like them) I get a letter almost EVERY WEEK now it is back on the market again telling me that it's time to list with them. If it feels wrong then don't do it.

Unsolicited mail received from Abbott's…

Unsolicited mail received from Abbott's Kings Lynn.

They cannot even sell a property similar to mine up the road, but they are quite happy to tout for my business.

They search for property addresses from online estate agents because they know their days are numbered. They then promise the earth when in fact they are just parasites who are no better than any other high street estate agent.

Avoid at all costs......

So very Bad.

So very bad. When a company insists that a potential buyer prove their monetary situation even before viewing a property, let alone getting to the point of making an offer, it is not only pointless, rude and disrespectful to those who go to them to view a property, but more importantly, does a huge disservice to the people who go to them to sell their property. I assume they are so flooded with sales that they can afford to act in that way on behalf of their clients. Monetary verification comes at a later date once an offer has been made. It's like walking into an auto showroom and proving your bank balance prior to looking! A crazy bad business policy that in this case may have lost a sale for their client.

Unacceptable service

If you are looking to rent a property or planning to let your property like I did then you must avoid this company.
Abbotts was managing my property and the entire experience was very very bad. This company has been failing me on every level and I have been very disappointed. My property was left uninhabitable following the tenancy causing great financial burden for me. The tenancy ended 7 months ago and I am still waiting for return of deposit and closure of my books.
I have not seen anything as unprofessional and self centred.

Please avoid at all cost.
