Our charter with Yachting in Sardinia was deeply frustrating from the moment technical problems became visible. We had no reason to damage the dinghy motor ourselves, and we believe it had been in poor condition already before our departure. Despite that, the operator quickly turned the discussion against us and behaved as if the matter was already settled. There was very little real investigation, and the responses we received felt defensive rather than helpful. We were especially unhappy about the lock issue and the way safety concerns were treated. To then find that 250 EUR had been withheld from our deposit made the whole experience feel even more unfair. We expected a professional operator, but instead we experienced poor communication, blame-shifting, and a complete lack of customer care.

We had a réservation in july.
First they tried to charge us for desalisator as a option White it was inclused.
Then they charged us for a damage 2 days after White there’s nothing to déclare during the technical Check out.
They don’t consider that we had no thruster and no windlass during the Cruise. It seems to be usual.
We called to have réparation but we never succeed.
They are no faired as it was stressful for us during Windy Anchorage.
Fiee this charter.

The boat was delivered in poor cleanliness, the forward cabin couldn't be used due to a strong garbage smell; possibly previous crew stored their trash bags in that cabin. As a result, one of my crew members had to sleep in the salon with all his belongings there. Unforgivable for a boat of that size.
Second, self-check-in is strongly inadvisable, especially on boats one doesn't know, and we're not on vacation to read endlessly long manuals. That caused us three main problems: we could only use the water maker on the last day, the aft port cabin had no electricity from the second day onward, meaning the toilet couldn't be used, and the 220v outlets stopped working on the first day. All unacceptable issues, especially since WhatsApp support was unavailable except when someone from your company deigned to respond, several hours after the inquiry.

I strongly recommend avoiding this company if you want a worry-free holiday.
We are experienced sailors and have rented many boats over the years, so we understand that occasional technical issues can happen. However, this experience was far below any reasonable standard.
We rented the highest-tier boat they offered, but its condition was very disappointing. The boat was poorly maintained, and several essential items were charged as extras, even though some were unavailable or did not work properly.
The boat was also not ready on time. Because of their delay, we could only leave one day later and lost a full day of our holiday.
Customer service was almost non-existent. Communication was difficult, staff were often rude, and instead of being able to speak with a real person, we were repeatedly pushed to use an AI chatbot. This made it extremely difficult to resolve the problems.
The company charges extra for almost everything, but the quality of the boat and the service do not justify the price. In our experience, they did not take responsibility when things went wrong.
We would be happy to update this review if our concerns are properly addressed and meaningful action is taken. If the company chooses not to respond or resolve the issues, it will unfortunately confirm our impression that customer satisfaction is not a priority.

This was the worst experience, unfortunately.
I have been on different boats in different countries, with different captains, so I have something to compare it to and I can definitely say that this experience was the worst in all respects: the boat, the skipper and the agency itself showed themselves poorly.
The boat:
1. Not equipped with a generator, accordingly there is no electricity, no air conditioning in the cabins, there is air conditioning in the cabin, but it is pointless, since it only works in the port, when the power grid is connected. But in any case, the air conditioning worked only one day - then it broke.
2. The boat itself is very tired and not maintained - many breakdowns: some doors are broken, one hose outside was damaged and it was inconvenient to wash it, some rigging is in poor condition and needs to be replaced. There are no mosquito nets on some windows and when we reported this to the agency on the first day, they said they couldn't help us with this issue.
3. Very bad pillows outside - very thin, bad and poor quality, and most importantly you have to pay for them separately! They charged €400 or something like that for them - in my opinion it's just a scam because they are really very cheap and poor quality.
4. We ordered linen but they didn't make it - very strange. Then we paid for it separately.
5. Also the shelf in the fridge was broken - no one cared about it.
6. One of the toilets was broken and all the waste went straight into the sea - I don't know how that's possible. The other toilets didn't work well in the sense that I had to flush 5-6 times to finally get it clean.
7. When we first set sail on the first day, one of the engines broke down. We were stuck in one place for a while until the technical team arrived - they fixed the engine and we moved on.
8. Also, the fans in the cabins were very dirty. And some of the blinds were broken - I couldn't close the window.
Skipper Ricardo:
1. The first suspicions arose when the skipper did not conduct a briefing - he did not tell anything, did not show where and what equipment and how to use it, did not explain where the life jackets are, etc. Very bad. But he immediately asked if I knew how to moor, because he would need help, since the boat is very big. And all this was difficult, because the skipper does not know English at all - I do not know how he was allowed to work with tourists.
2. Smokes narcotic weed every day - I do not understand how you can use narcotic substances when you are responsible for people. He tried to hide it, but you can not hide the smell. It is very, very bad. But I already understood that our agency is bad, so I did not want to inform them about it right away - I was afraid that they would not be able to quickly find a replacement for the captain.
3. In general, I got the impression that he had never driven catamarans before - he was inexperienced. Maybe he had driven small yachts before, but this was his first time on a 4.8 catamaran. Often he could not find a good place to park in the bay or on the beach for a long time. We were with friends and he did not want to stand together with them - he was afraid to tie up to the second catamaran. Only on the fifth day did he finally agree to stand together with two boats - and this mooring took half an hour🤦🏻♂️
4. In general, each anchorage near the beach is 30 minutes of parking time. The captain of the second catamaran, on which our friends were, noticed that Ricardo anchors anywhere - he does not know, if the anchor gets under a rock, it will be a big problem.
Agency:
1. The agency has its own pier, but it is very inconvenient - there is no way to arrive by car, and you have to carry all your things and all the products yourself, and it is quite difficult on a bad path, because they did not manage to lay at least a plastic path for convenience - very bad.
2. There is no office as such - there is just a tent on the pier, which is very inconvenient. On the day of registration there was a strong wind - it was uncomfortable.
3. In general, a rather strange experience with this company, which charged for everything possible - even for pillows on the yacht - very strange. Separately, they charged me 150€ for using the thruster - I have never encountered this before. It is good that they did not charge a separate fee for using the toilet...
There were other troubles, but in general, I think, everything was understood. Unfortunately, this week of vacation didn't go very well, although the sea and beaches were beautiful.

The service battery was completely uncharged at check-in time, and we had to stay the first night at the port… the company first pretended that everything was ok and only after 3h they recognized that the battery charger wasn’t working.

We are very dissatisfied with how Yachting in Sardinia handled our charter. The first impression was not terrible, but the problems started as soon as we tried to use the dinghy and realized the outboard motor was not working correctly. In addition, the cabin lock issue made us worry about safety and basic maintenance. We reported these matters in good faith and expected the operator to investigate them professionally. Instead, we were met with blame, skepticism, and a very defensive attitude. It felt as though the company was more interested in protecting its mechanic and avoiding responsibility than in treating guests fairly. The final charge of 250 EUR from our deposit, without our approval, made the whole situation feel even more unjust. We left with the impression of a company that handles problems badly and communicates even worse.

We left our charter with a very bad feeling about Yachting in Sardinia. At handover, the boat looked mostly acceptable, but after departure we quickly ran into serious technical issues that affected our trip. The dinghy outboard did not work properly, and there was also a problem with the cabin door lock, which made us feel uneasy about safety and the overall maintenance level. What made the experience worse was the way the situation was handled. Instead of calmly checking the problem and looking at the evidence, the operator reacted in a defensive and accusatory way, as if the fault had already been decided before any real inspection. We felt dismissed, blamed, and not taken seriously. To make matters worse, 250 EUR was taken from our deposit even though we clearly disputed the charge. That left us feeling that the operator cared more about protecting itself than treating customers fairly.

The entire trip, from the booking process to returning the yacht, went perfectly. The YiS team was very supportive and helped me with every question I had along the way.
The provided yacht "Karibu", a Dufour 360 GL (2018), was in very good condition, and I experienced no technical issues during the trip. The yacht handled super, and all onboard systems, including the heads, worked flawlessly. Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to sail under sails, but I inspected them carefully and they were also in excellent condition (technician told me that they were changed in the end of last season).
During the check-in process, I had enough time to inspect the yacht on my own before the technician arrived. This allowed me to calmly take photos, thoroughly check everything, and even inspect the hull underwater with an action camera. Everything was in excellent condition. Afterwards, together with the technician, we reviewed the inventory and the yacht checklist, and the entire process went very smoothly.
The check-out and yacht return process was equally professional and efficient.
I would like to sincerely thank the YiS team for their responsiveness, professionalism, and friendly approach throughout the entire experience.

On 26 extras that you can possibly book you must fill in the value "0" in the required field to show you dont need it.. that super boring..

Do not use this company. Battery for motor was faulty and we had to return twice to a harbour to charge as house batteries were linked to motor which should not be so. We had to take out the thruster battery and move it every time to start.
We have our own boat and have many years of sailing and boating experience, we wanted to try a trimaran and this company ruined our holiday. We did not feel safe.
Lifejackets were just rubbish old orange 🍊 foam floaters, not appropriate for a life line attachment.
Ropes too short to be safely usable
Mainsail was so stiff we needed 2 people to pull it down! Handheld radio not working so they just took it and said it’s ok you don’t need it.
Fuel spillage so bad one cabin was like being inside a fuel tank, took me 2 hours to clean it. Still not great
No instruction, things broken falling off doors etc, and equipment missing, seat cushions from other boats which didn’t fit, mess even mold, self check in is a joke.
We returned Wednesday evening in 25-30 knots and were told there’s no help at the harbour if we arrive after 17:00, luckily we were there shortly before so someone was there to help with morning, then he disappeared. Everything was soaked and all the deck cushions inside so we went to a hotel. They fixed just the ropes and battery by Thursday late afternoon. As we only had one night left as we had to be back by Friday night we left the boat. No compensation
Avoid at all costs
Just like to add that your response below is incorrect, nothing was promptly dealt with and we were never rude. We fixed some things ourselves and safety is not “ personal preference “, luckily we had taken our own lifejackets as those provided were not ok, no matter what the response below says. just to mention a few points in your response. Don’t you dare try to put the blame on us

We haven't had any problems. The ladies in the office are very nice, and we haven't paid any fines. Just follow the guidelines, which isn't that difficult. We booked Bali46 and quite satisfied.

Charter period: 1 week (September/October 2025)
POSITIVES: Office staff were very helpful - Antonina, Roberta (pre-charter) and, particularly, Federica (throughout) provided great assistance. Checkout with Omar was a breeze, and the deposit returned swiftly. Viridis (Dufour 37) proved to be an excellent cruiser in its class; the boat was clean, generally in a good condition and exceptionally comfortable for our crew of four - overall a great joy to sail (the bowthruster, though, was unreliable).
Where we see room for IMPROVEMENT: The bureaucracy and the hostile contract T&C's are a significant put-off, adding unnecessary stress to the check-in process. The DSC was disabled - I urge YiS to reassess this (particularly for clients exempt from standard contractual navigation limits). Although it didn't bother us too much, we found that SeaTutor wasn't really fit for purpose - slow, very poor resolution and simply wouldn't have helped us assess the proximity of forbidden areas. Viewed on the chart, the areas themselves were largely uncontroversial.
RECOMMENDATIONS for prospective clients: If you can, start communicating with YiS staff a few months in advance of arrival (or sort everything out during low season). We had lots of questions and most of them were answered.
