FINALLY - got my deposit back, seven weeks later, tips if you have similar issue.

Following lots of emails and no responses to any of my phone calls to the office I have finally been credited my deposit, seven weeks after vacating the rented property.
Tips for anyone else struggling to get back their deposit:
1. MAKE CERTAIN that you respond to an email from TLS requesting your bank details. This may have been an early email when you were setting up the contract. Even when my bank info was in the original contract, they didn't take any notice of that.
2. Email the finance team - eventually, very late, after numerous automated replies, they did respond to me.
3. If you still have no success, call your local Citizens Advice Bureau, they recommended I draft a letter confirming my intent to take legal action if I wasn't refunded within one month. If that doesn't deliver your deposit back, you can file a small claims court order for a small cost to yourself (£20), represent yourself in court and prosecute. Fortunately, my deposit appeared in my bank account just before I posted that letter.
Good luck.

This was my original review:
My deposit on a London rental property is now over 2 weeks overdue and I cannot get any answer when I call the office and my emails are ignored (I receive an automated email response stating someone will get back to me shortly, but no-one has).

I am becoming increasingly anxious about this - I want my deposit back as the property was left in perfect condition.

PLEASE will someone from TLS group respond to me???

STAY AWAY FROM THIS AGENCY, THEY ARE THIEVES

My advice : STAY AWAY from this agency, they are crooks, your deposit will not be protected under the UK Law and you will never get your money back.

I personally had to live with multiple water leaks in my room (ceiling, wall and floor), causing humidity and damages to the walls.

They took £120 out of my deposit without sending me any detailed invoice. I suppose I paid the contractor who painted the walls but I'm not responsible for the damages and therefore not liable to pay for anything.

Luckily, I have lots of pictures and emails showing that I'm telling the truth and I'm now trying to take action against them. If you had similar experiences, feel free to contact me (write your email in the review in letters).
