How they still have the contract after the data breach I have no clue.
The experience with this company was so draining and you can tell they dont care about you. All they care about is money and if they can find a way to screw you out of it so they get more they absolutely will. I did not feel supported through our process with them and at this point Im done fighting them. They use policy against you but then quote it wrong just so they dont have to pay you out. I hate them.
Stay away from this large organization…
Stay away from this large organization if at all possible. I used one of their 3 party providers, Sterling Moving and Storage. I submitted a minor claim for damages that occurred during my move from CT to NC. What followed can be termed as unprofessional and poor customer service after the sale. I received a prompt letter from there Corporate CS standing a claim would be paid, after about 2 months waiting, I called to ask the status and was told, "that was a mistake". No letter, no phone call, no response. Moving is stressful enough, this is not how to properly treat customer. I also made the mistake of recommending this company to my son. A big mistake to say the least,].
DO NOT USE!!
DO NOT USE!!! high priced item was stolen during my move process. Claim was immediately brushed off and denied. Extremely unprofessional.
Terrible service and resolution of customer complaint
I had a very disappointing experience with Allied Van Lines. The move was expensive, and the level of service I received was nowhere near what I expected at that price point. I would never use this service for moving again and will never recommend anyone to use this service.
Our pickup was scheduled for Saturday, and we were informed 3 days prior that the movers were running a day behind schedule and would not be able to arrive until Sunday. We had planned around the original pickup date, so this created a significant inconvenience and disruption to our schedule.
What was the most frustrating was the delivery delay that occurred. We had a specific date that we were leaving the country vacation and had to have our delivery before a certain date and this was promised during our initial consultation and documentation. The shipment was 5 days late, well after we had left t delivered late and we had to scramble to find help locally to make sure things were unloaded to our storage unit.
I submitted a claim requesting compensation for the delay. Rather than offering any meaningful resolution or goodwill compensation, Allied denied the claim, stating that their tariff does not allow delay compensation when a shipment is delivering to storage unit. I was left dealing with delays and then had my claim essentially dismissed without any meaningful resolution.
I would strongly recommend that anyone considering Allied carefully consider how delays are handled and what recourse customers actually have when things go wrong. Based on my experience, I will not use Allied Van Lines again.
If you're paying a premium for a professional moving company, you should be able to expect them to take responsibility when the service doesn't go as promised. My experience did not meet that standard.
CAF move
CAF move Edmonton to wainwright 2026
horrible experience, DOGS*** claim process, I can't even finish my move because SIRVAs web sight is A$$
I Will Express VR if I ever have to use this company again
Applied for a job
Applied for a job. Got through phone interview and a Zoom call. Then they decided to cut communication. No, you were not a fit for job or anything. Looks like rot starts from within.
Even U-Haul would be better than this!
Is there a negative star option? After more than 30 years in my career and 5 cross-country or long distance moves, this was THE WORST to work with!
I'd like to give them less than 1 star
I'd like to give them less than 1 star. They are awful. They used a strap to move my 102 year old Mum's dresser, and crushed the central corner of the dresser. But then denied it was them because it is an old dresser with a crack. But the crushed in section they created was 90o from the "old crack", and the smashed in piece was the exact size of their strap, with bits of wood.
I recently tried to help a buyer…
I recently tried to help a buyer purchase a property managed by this company, and I'd say if you're looking to use a relocation company and protect yourself as a seller, find a better solution. The disclosures were poor, and the people handling communication were unprofessional and slow. I'm very experienced with relocation, and this is one of the worst I've ever attempted to work with.
SIRVA what an abortion of a company.
Our dealings with SIRVA were disappointing.
Recommended by a party unbeknownst to them we would have a horror experience. They assured us that our shipment would take 45-60 days but ended up taking 110 days. We arranged our flights around their 60 days, what a nightmare!
This left us without furniture and sleeping on an air mattress for three weeks. When the furniture finally arrived, the service provided was meant to include unpacking but excluded setup. We were also told they would remove all boxes and wrapping materials. This was another point of contention. We were left with a huge pile of boxes and wrapping we had to pay to recycle.
Upon finding damage, a request was made for a supervisor to call, which was ignored. Emails with photos documenting the damage were responded to with significant delays, leading to our claim being filed two days late and subsequently denied due to timing. They temporize to avoid paying out a claim. They lack customer service once you fork out the big dollars for their service they suddenly forget how to communicate.
Extremely frustrating to deal with
I had a very frustrating claims experience with Sirva.
After my delayed delivery, damage was discovered during uncrating, including a broken marble table and a $3,400 Samsung OLED TV that powered on but had no picture. My claim contact was Joann Pierce, Team Lead.
To be fair, communication itself was not slow. The issue was the substance of the claim handling. Sirva’s position was that the marble table did not justify full replacement and only merited a generic tabletop allowance, even though marble naturally varies and a close match matters. For the TV, the claim was denied because there was no visible exterior damage, even though it was fully functional before the move and nonfunctional immediately after transit and unpacking.
The overall experience felt focused on limiting the claim rather than fairly resolving it, and I was ultimately told to pursue arbitration.
Unserious and slow
i had the misfortunate of dealing with them as my company chose them as the reolocation vendor that handles my temparary accomodation. I cannot believe how slow they operate. It took over 2 weeks and 2 chasers to get the potential options which contained confsuing information. My subsequent followup email for clarification was simply ignored. When my moving date was confimred and i instructed them to book the hotel, they informed me it generally takes them a week to book it?! This hotel was available on the official public website with instant confirmation. It is shocking in 2026 a so called "professional relocation vendor" requires 5 days for a hotel booking that takes me 60 seconds to complete myself online. Their agent had the audacity to tell me my stay is "secured" when he cannot provide me with any sort of confirmation or ref no. i would have 100% chosen to handle things myself than dealing with this company if it was an option. This company is just unserious and unprofessional.
FORMAL NOTICE: COERCIVE BILLING & POTENTIAL REGULATORY VIOLATIONS
This review is directed at regulators, investigators, and any consumer considering Sirva Worldwide.
Summary of Incident:
I paid ~$13,350 for a “door-to-door” international shipment. Upon arrival, Sirva Worldwide demanded an additional $2,533.60 in unsubstantiated charges and conditioned delivery of my household goods on immediate payment.
I paid UNDER PROTEST WITH FULL RESERVATION OF RIGHTS solely to secure release of my property.
⸻
ALLEGED CONDUCT (SUPPORTED BY DOCUMENTED CORRESPONDENCE & CALL TRANSCRIPTS):
1. Failure to Provide Itemized Invoice or Legal Basis
Repeated formal requests for a detailed invoice and contractual authority for each charge were ignored prior to collection.
→ Indicates potential violations of federal transportation transparency requirements and basic contract disclosure obligations.
2. Coercive Collection / Economic Duress
Delivery was explicitly withheld unless disputed charges were paid immediately.
→ Payment obtained under threat of continued deprivation of property constitutes economic duress and raises concerns of unlawful conversion and coercive business practices.
3. Unauthorized Actions Generating Fees
The shipment container was offloaded—triggering storage, handling, and shuttle charges—without informed consent.
→ Suggests unauthorized agency action and improper cost-shifting.
4. Material Misrepresentation & Omission
At contracting, I was led to believe the service was effectively “all-inclusive.”
No meaningful disclosure that routine scheduling conditions could trigger thousands in additional charges.
→ Meets elements of material omission and deceptive trade practices.
5. Price Escalation Without Substantiation
Charges then increased from ~$2,163 to $2,533.60 without documentation or justification.
→ Indicative of unfair and deceptive acts or practices (UDAP).
6. Post Hoc Narrative Manipulation
Subsequent communications reframed events to shift liability to the customer, contradicting recorded calls.
→ Suggests bad-faith dispute positioning and potential evidentiary concerns.
⸻
REGULATORY & LEGAL IMPLICATIONS:
This conduct may fall within the scope of:
* Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) oversight
* Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) jurisdiction
* State Unfair and Deceptive Acts and Practices (UDAP) statutes
* Potential civil claims:
* Misrepresentation
* Unjust enrichment
* Conversion
* Economic duress
⸻
EVIDENTIARY STATUS:
* Written correspondence documenting repeated invoice demands
* Call transcript demonstrating lack of informed consent
* Pricing escalation timeline
* Proof of payment under protest
⸻
CONSUMER WARNING:
Engaging Sirva Worldwide without:
* Fully itemized, contractually grounded pricing
* Written pre-authorization controls on all operational decisions
* Legal readiness
…creates significant financial and legal risk once your property is in their possession.
⸻
BOTTOM LINE:
This was not a billing dispute.
This was leverage applied to a consumer through control of their property.
It is quite obvious to me why Sirva has a 1.7 out of 5-star review average and it should be to you as well.
These people own Allied Van Lines, NorthAmerican Van Lines, Alliance, Sirva Mortgage, and Global Van Lines, some of the largest U.S. moving companies, and they CANNOT BE TRUSTED.
Regulatory review is warranted.

This company is infuriatingly bad.
This company is infuriatingly bad.
Trying to communicate with them is like pulling teeth out of a babies mouth. Impossible. Emails get no responses. Phone calls end-up either fighting with an AI or straight-up to people that don't answer their phones. Same results. This posting season is going to be pure garbage.
Very disappointing experience
Very disappointing experience. SIRVA was used for my company move. They lost around £600 pounds of my possessions and will not accept any liability. I would not recommend this company.
Very poor communication, despite good storage
My goods were well stored, but this company is incredibly poor at communications, on the limit of autistic silence. Trying to get hold of someone for inquiries is a nightmare. Nobody answers the phone, e-mail bounces. The phone number on their website does not connect. The phone numbers and address location on their invoices are from a previous location where they no longer operate.
When we did obtain a number, the person answering said he was from a different agent, unconnected to SIRVA and had been retired some while ago.
When things were sorted finally, the customer representative turned out to be located in a different country (!) and did not speak the language you need to operate in our environment.
SIRVA is good at invoicing, that is certain.
If i could give 0 stars i would
If i could give 0 stars i would, they never gave us the information we needed to send the shipment, after the goods was collected,packed and stored, we finally got the information we needed witch made the whole sending impossible. So they charged me 40000nok, so i see them as a scam, they trick you into relying on them and they dont give information what you need, they stall time, and then screw you over. Thanks for nothing, thanks for giving me all the blame for not getting the information, give me the whole bill because you guys are useless, i recommend noone to use this company, they wont move shit. They will take your money.
If I could give zero stars (North America Van Lines and Sirva)
If I could give zero stars, I would.
I hired North American Van Lines, which uses SIRVA to handle claims. What followed was one of the worst customer experiences I’ve ever had.
After my move, two beds were disassembled and left unusable. I reported the damage properly and on time. For months, I dealt with endless emails, no phone calls, no repair coordination, and no resolution.
The claims representative handling my case left the company, my claim was effectively abandoned, and I was later told I was “in disagreement with a settlement offer” a settlement that was never communicated to me in any form.
The entire process felt designed to delay, deflect, and exhaust the customer rather than fix the problem.
Neither SIRVA nor North American Van Lines should be trusted with anyone’s belongings or claims.
I would never hire either of these companies again.
To avoid
If it were only for the poor service, it could be accettable. During a difficult moment like a move, Sirva creates additional issues and mismanagement. Avod them.
Wish i could have give zero stars
Wish i could have give zero stars.
Pathetic and unprofessional services, never use them.
They will use every opportunity to commercialize and make money. My shipment from UAE to Europe was picked up 5 months still not yet delivered. Shame on the Sirva.
