Beware of dealing with them, especially as a payment gateway for the store. I'm speaking from personal experience; their incompetence led me to lose orders worth $1000. They support scammers like... See more

Removed existing functionality. Now have to pay for it.
Removed functionality with their last upgrade that we now have to pay $500+ a year to an app developer if we want to get it back again.
Typical post-modern corporate slop.
They upgraded their checkout system. Used to be able to have a custom script to redirect to specific landing pages based on what product was ordered. That customization has now been removed. Only way to get it back is to pay for an app or pay thousands for a custom app (according to Shopify support).
Very frustrating and as another reviewer said... Shopify is a walled garden with 'just' another billionaire owner.
STOP!!! DO NOT SIGN-UP!!!
Once you sign up, they NEVER let you cancel! You, literally have to cancel whatever means you used to pay them! For me it was PayPal! Which really put me out having to cancel PayPal! And, canceling PayPal took a hit on my credit! STOP!!! DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT SIGNING UP FOR SHOPIFY!!!

I was surprised to see so many negative reviews, to be honest. I've found customer service to be helpful, in my experience. It took some getting used to, but my inventory is pretty basic and I try and keep things as simple as possible. Fees are quite high, but I'm grateful the third party eBay integration was changed to be free after the official eBay integration was removed.

This company acts like a scam
This company acts like a scam, do not even support any small business which is struggling; their customer service didnt even give the right advice and trying to tell you they supported you but well useless words, they just try to keep you and take money of you when you did not even
make any sales, they just keep taking your money as the subscription even I was not
aware the policy that I signed for 12 months subscription was the advice of their advisor.
Again taking money for small businesses which are struggling, shame on you and no ethical
Tried to simply see tracking updates.
Tried to simply see tracking updates.. Shopify now forces people to use their app for tracking updates. Completely removing it from the website of ALL shops because you want them to go to your app. You are truly evil and shitty.. shame on you.

"I have been trying to resolve a billing issue since 12th March 2026. I was charged for two uninstalled apps — eBay Integration DPL and File Uploads by UploadKit. Both app developers have already issued credits but Shopify has not applied them to my bill. I have been passed back and forth between Shopify support and the app developers for weeks with no resolution. I have an open ticket number 65442313 which remains unresolved. Shopify support agent Tatiana offered to cover 3 months of my subscription in a chat today but the issue still isn't fixed. I have been a patient and cooperative customer but this is unacceptable. My store is Phimedil Designs."
Shopify supports fraudulous sites
Bought something on Internet from a merchant hosted by Shopify. Inspite of sending evidence, customer service doesnt want to give me any update and the merchant simply continues the business. How can that kind of business be able to continue ? Really a shame for Spotify to support fraudulous dropshipping activities!!!
A negative star review would be more…
A negative star review would be more appropriate. It is extremely inappropriate for Shopify to delete someone’s store along with all their inventory without warning. I have used numerous platforms such as Wix, among others, but for a company to remove your website, products, and inventory without notice is unacceptable worth millions . It clearly shows a lack of concern for customers and suggests a purely profit-driven approach.
I would strongly advise people not to use Shopify—there are far better, more modern alternatives available that are evolving with the times. In my experience, Shopify feels outdated and does not adequately support its users. I would not recommend this platform at all.
EMBARRASSING. Onboarding broken for YEARS with no dev responses
The onboarding flow is broken and has been for years. When you install the Printify app from inside Shopify, it creates a brand new blank Printify store instead of linking to your existing account where all your products are. There is zero warning about this anywhere in the setup process. You end up with two stores, no publish button, and no way to connect them. The only fix is to manually copy all your products over to the new store. This is a known issue reported by multiple users on the Shopify community forum with no fix, no acknowledgment, and no response from Printify or Shopify. In regards to both companies-- for a company this size, this is embarrassing. Sort it out.
Ending subscription with Nightmare Shopify
I was selling coffee. However, I stopped the business due to financial reasons. I have not used the site for months, however, they kept taking money out for subscription. In the last couple of weeks, I have tried to get into my account. But, it would not let me in due asking my authorization code or pass code. Both of which I do not have. When I was active, I never had to put the does in. I have written maybe over 12 emails requesting assistance because I want to end my subscription. I had one email telling me that I needed a 2FA reset and that they could not end my subscription, that I had to go into my account to do it. That was the only email, along with a response that they are reviewing my request, which was over a week and a half. Since then, they continue to take out money and ignore my request. I have spend now 2-3 hours yesterday and today to try and figure out how to get codes from watching You Tube, to reading "how to" with NO SUCCESS.
I am beyond frustrated and very angry that I am going through this and wasting time trying to figure this out and sending many many emails for help, and Shopify NOT responding.
This is the worse company I have ever had to deal with. It should never be this difficult and frustrating.
At this point, I am ready to escalate this to a higher authority.
Unknowingly saved my credit card info
Bought something online only to find out Shopify (who?) has saved my credit card information. Tried repeatedly to get a hold of them to delete my information, which they never should’ve had access to in the first place. That breach of trust is a 0 star review if I could do that.
They are missing alots in they own platform
I’m honestly disappointed with how this issue has been handled.
Instead of acknowledging the problem and taking ownership, I was told that it would be passed to the developer team and that I should monitor the Shopify Changelog myself for any updates. That’s not a real solution, and it doesn’t reflect a serious approach to customer support.
From my perspective, this appears to be a limitation or issue within Shopify’s own system. Rather than recognizing that and keeping me informed, the responsibility was shifted back to me to check for updates.
As a business owner, I expect issues like this to be taken seriously. A more appropriate response would have been to investigate the problem and follow up with me directly once a solution or update is available.
Good support is not just about passing issues forward, it’s about communication, accountability, and making the customer feel heard.
I hope you can improve how cases like this are handled in the future.
Just don’t like it
Just don’t like it, it takes over your shopping experience with the seller.
I will not use any seller that uses this platform.
Sellers beware your takings are about to drop
Shopify illegally charged my account…
Shopify illegally charged my account for their POS PRO service which I had cancelled, which was confirmed to me by their agent via chat. Today, their agent MARIE chatted with me and said no refund can be issued but that she can issue me a one-time credit. They charged me $89 ILLEGALLY for Shopify POS PRO. And Marie issued me a $79 credit. SHOPIFY IS ENGAGING IN ILLEGAL THEFT. No remorse. No customer service.
A breeze!
Good experience, lots of features, good prices, easy to understand and use. Makes earning passive income a breeze.
Shopify is a walled garden
My honest feedback about the Shopify platform is that you should avoid it at all costs! Its a waste of time.
Shopify is a walled garden. Great if you want to quickly launch a simple website and play within the walls.
However, once you want to customize or adjust anything beyond the basics, you run into the walls and the platform quickly becomes incredibly frustrating.
In many cases, even small changes require installing an app with a recurring monthly fee, or editing theme code directly. This creates a situation where merchants either have to keep adding paid apps or work in the code themselves, which defeats the idea of a simple and flexible platform.
The lack of control over important parts of the storefront and checkout is particularly frustrating. The recent changes to the Thank You / Order Status page are a good example.
Google Merchant Center recently advised me to add Google Customer Reviews to my store. The implementation requires placing a small script on the order confirmation (Thank You) page. In Wordpress / Woocommerce that would have been a 1 minute job. However, because Shopify changed the Thank You page system, it is no longer straightforward to implement this. Something that should take a minute or so has now become unnecessarily complicated.
This is just one example of many frustrating moments in Shopify. Situations like this make the platform feel restrictive and unpredictable for merchants. Running a business requires stability and the ability to implement integrations when needed.
My advice to people considering Shopify would be this: Shopify is a very good platform if you want to launch a simple store quickly. But if your business grows and your website needs to grow with it, you will likely run into the platform’s limitations much sooner than expected.
I personally regret switching from WordPress and WooCommerce to Shopify. At the time it seemed like a good decision for simplicity, but in practice the simplicity comes with a price in the form of lack of control and flexibility and it has become a constant frustration. Because of this, I will move my store back to WordPress and WooCommerce in the near future.
A platform that powers businesses should not make merchants feel like guests on their own website.
If I could give negative stars I would
If I could give negative stars I would. Do NOT use Shopify if you value your website and customers. They will hold your website hostage and good luck ever migrating to another platform if you have subscription customers. Customer service sucks, platform sucks, overpriced, horrible site speed.
Run from this place
Run from this place. I tried to do a free trial and it’s impossible to speak to live person. They have continued to bill my bank account even after I canceled after I couldn’t figure out how to set up. I told my bank and they credited me for all their charges. They reversed the charges again. Someone tell me how to kick their ass because this is fraud

I placed an order through a Shopify store over two months ago, and I have still not received my item. Since then, I have made multiple attempts to contact the seller, but I have received no response at all.
I strongly advise others to be cautious when purchasing from this seller, as my experience has been extremely negative.
