Poor quality parts and difficult refund process

Poor quality parts and unhelpful returns and refund process. Ended up £20 out of pocket on a faulty alternator that was just 2 months out of warranty and had only done 800 miles. Still awaiting the refund for the part a week after return. Was refused postage refund due to warranty expiry despite having stated previously they would ensure I wasn’t out of pocket, also in breach of Consumer Rights Act 2015 having returned the part to them for checking. I also ordered a replacement light stalk that did not fit correctly in their own supplied cowl against a standard steering column due to wire thickness. Switch was also faulty due to a weak solder joint and resulted in MOT failure when light did not work. Insisted on return before refund at my cost despite clear photo of fault. Now left with having to order from elsewhere to avoid a MOT retest fee. Very disappointed considering the loyalty I give them in paying for my membership and won’t use them again.

Poor quality part and a very slow refund

You don't have to use MGOC as a spares source for an MGB, there are many alternative suppliers, and after this experience I will use one of them in preference in the future.

First they supplied me with a reconditioned steering rack for my MGB which was of such poor quality it was totally unusable. I decided instead to buy a new item from them and returned the old one.

Now, a fortnight later I am still waiting for a refund. They assured me on the phone it would be paid last week, but sadly that has not happened. Today I have rung them to chase it up and after waiting in their queuing system I was cut off. A simple refund for a part they have agreed has been received back should not take this long.

My advice to any MGB owners out there is not to use this company.

Update. The refund has now appeared in my account. Was it just a slow payment, or was it a reaction to me posting the review? Who knows but at least they have now sent the payment. In view of this I am now changing the review to 3 stars
