Signed up for an account expecting a…

Signed up for an account expecting a 15% discount on my first order, but never received the code via email as promised. I received other emails from Hobbycraft but no discount code. Also tried by logging into my account and adding the items to basket but still no discount added. Really dislike companies that do this! Not great.

greatly overpriced

I went into the Cardiff store and found a "35L Really Useful Box" for £18. This is a plastic crate with a lid. Five minute walk along the same road, ASDA selling the exact same crate for £12. This is the normal price at ASDA. Sometimes they have them on offer for £10.

There is a sign in the store saying they will price match but why waste my time arguing to get something for a much cheaper price when I can simply get it elsewhere without any hassle.

EDIT:
In regard to HOBBYCRAFT's reply. I am not frustrated, I am simply VERY unhappy at your prices and am taking the time to point this out. When I had a lot of money to throw away it did not bother me. Now spending twice as much on some products just because of HOBBYCRAFT's markup's is too much to bare. Take MILLIPUT. You sell it for twice as much as my local hardware store. Or your ACRYLIC artist paint. Again twice as much as at "The Range". I used to do a lot of shopping at HOBBYCRAFT but now it's very rare. Your prices are rediculas.

I went to the store hobby craft to fill…

I went to the store hobby craft to fill a balloon I had bought online for my daughter’s birthday. The balloon has two small pieces, but they still charged me more to fill it than the cost of the balloon itself. I didn’t ask about the price beforehand because I assumed it would be around £2–£3 at most.

I also bought another balloon from their store for £2.50. When I went to pay, they told me the total was £18. I was shocked. They charged £14 just to fill my balloon, and they also charged to fill the one I purchased from them — even though most shops fill it for free when you buy the balloon there.

Overall, it was a very disappointing and ridiculous experience.

Bad customer service

Hobbycraft took two payments for my order and then left the burden with me to call my bank to get a refund. Hobbycraft processed the payment, so the refund should be issued directly by Hobbycraft - which they refused to do. This raises concerns about their system's accuracy and suitability for online retail. Customers should not be expected to spend their own time contacting their bank to resolve issues caused by their payment process.

This situation reflects poorly on customer service. Customers should not be burdened with fixing errors in a supplier's payment system.

Horrific delivery service and horrific…

Horrific delivery service and horrific customer service. Ordered a package well over a week ago with no sign of it, and the customer service team are rude and unhelpful, parroting the updates on Royal Mail's website while offering you absolutely no help.

I'm not surprised to see their stores are shutting down.

Don't waste your time on next day click and collect.

I've had to use the next day click and collect service twice recently, however what Hobbycraft means by next day and what everyone else thinks it means are not the same thing.

Twice I have been let down now, so will not be using them again.

Their excuse? 'we use third party couriers', as though that makes a difference.

Don't advertise a service that you cannot provide. I am now down time and money, and have an item that I cannot return because no doubt you will absolutely abide by the returns policy, but not the delivery.

Downhill in recent years.

Update: their generic script response says everything about their poor service.

Do NOT trust their click-and-collect service or their customer service.
After being a loyal Hobbycraft customer for over 20 years, I am appalled by the service that has ended my relationship with this company.
The Facts:
I attempted to collect the order numerous times, but the store's terrible car park was repeatedly full, making collection impossible.
The package was prematurely returned and cancelled BEFORE the two-week cut-off date.
Hobbycraft sent NO notification to inform me the item had been returned.
The Outcome: Customer Services refuses to acknowledge their error and I still have NO REFUND PENDING. Their solution was simply telling me to repurchase the items at double the price.
I have filed a formal chargeback with my card issuer. They have lost a highly loyal, 20-year customer due to basic errors, terrible facilities (parking), and a total lack of accountability. Avoid this company.

Treated like a number, not a customer

I was completely rushed at the check out, after queuing patiently.
Not much help with using vouchers.
The quality of the items has fallen but the price has gone up significantly. I don't think I'll bother returning

I love Hobbycraft

I love Hobbycraft - quite often they are the most affordable choice AND you can spend your Christmas vouchers online now (which you couldn't do a few years ago). They package everything well and have reasonable prices. I used to view Hobbycraft as being for richer people but they are more accessible now to disabled customers on a limited income. Would happily recommend

awful customer services

Put in an online order over a week ago - they took out the £28 payment but so far all i've recieved is 3 little pieces of ribbon - it says it's still processing the order and no indication of when it will be delivered - it was for my grand daughters birthday party this weekend so now had to order elsewhere - i put in a query online and through email and had no reply or no indication of when or if i'll get my order - i really expected better of Hobbycraft and certainly won't risk using them again

Went in looking for a specific item

Went in looking for a specific item, no staff around to ask, so went to the checkout where I asked for the item, upstairs, with a vague direction, getting a bit annoyed by now, upstairs, wandered around, at last a member of staff, I finally found what I was looking for.
Paid for my item and left. No tan enjoyable experience, quite stressful in fact.

The latest Hobbycraft Club exclusive…

The latest Hobbycraft Club exclusive offer 25% off Christmas (expiring on 3rd December) is a total misrepresentation! There is nothing in the email to indicate which products are eligible, even in the small print of the terms and conditions. It’s a ruse to get you to buy products that you then find upon checkout that you have to pay full price for. Hobbycraft have just replied and said “ it is a discount for Christmas” well, everything I purchased was for crafting my Christmas cards and gifts but did not qualify! Embarrassing checkout experience indeed.

Saw an advert for 15% off on their site…

Saw an advert for 15% off on their site when you sign up to their club. I wanted to buy an item off their site, so I did just that. I received every email under the sun apart from one with the 15% voucher code. I have contacted support and haven't heard back. They are now advertising 25% off when you sign up. That code WAS in my account to use, but when applying it to the basket, it just says it cannot be used. I even tried it with an item not on sale, and it still couldn't be used?! They're just lying to get your details. AVOID.
