Unless things change I'm going with another company
I've been a customer for less than a year and in that time, my trash/recycles were missed on three different occasions. Whenever that happened, neither the workers nor someone at the company governed themselves to fix the mistakes. Instead, we had to call and report the mistake and ask for a pick-up.
Here's the thing, I am a retired veteran and have lived all over the world. During my 23 years of service, I've hired multiple waste management companies and not a single one of them has ever missed a pick up. Not once! In fact, during the four and a half years we lived at this address and used Tiger Waste Management, they never missed a service either. In 27 years, the only time I have ever had to call one of those companies was when I wanted to start service, a canister broke, or end service. That's it.
Here's another thing. Whenever I've called those companies, the employees were always professional, polite, and sounded as if they were truly happy to be working for the company. Sadly, the gentleman who handles my service area has never displayed any of these traits. Instead, it seems as though he hates his job and whenever he has to do it, he behaves like he is doing the person he is interacting with a favor. But he's not doing anyone a favor. He's doing a job he's being paid to do, while representing the company.
Good customer service is not just about ensuring the job is done. It's about taking pride AND responsibility in what you do. I've read multiple reviews on this company and noticed none of the negative reviews where the company was clearly at fault in some way were answered. Yet a simple acknowledgement of a mistake made, accompanied with a sincere apology, and sometimes a credit for the next billing cycle, would solve most of these issues. Not to mention, it would also show your customers you genuinely care about the reputation of your company.
To the young man who took my call today, yes mistakes do happen, and we are understanding people. But if in 27 years we have never had a missed service (let alone three different missed services in less than a year), what do you think that says about the company's service? If this type of performance failure is normal to you, that says a lot about your work ethic too.
Also, you should be aware that sending someone out to do their job the next day after having to be told to do so on multiple occasions, is not rectifying the mistake made and therefore not an acceptable solution to the problem. Especially, since I had to explain to you during our first conversation that making us wait to the following week for our trash/recycles to be picked up, which was how you wanted to handle the matter, was unacceptable.
I'm giving this company two stars because they have reasonable prices and from some of the reviews I read, there are employees with truely great work ethics. I just wish they serviced my area and answered the phones. I genuinely hope, the owner of this company not only reads this reviews but also takes it seriously enough to start making real changes.
Should that happen, I will gladly update my review.
