Just returned to the UK from Peru.

Just returned to the UK from Peru.
We booked a jungle trek to Machu Picchu with Haku and had a great experience.
Johnny our guide was really helpful and had great knowledge of the area and organised good accommodation and places to eat in Cusco. He was also helpful in guiding us with the (somewhat) confusing system of getting tickets to enter Machu Picchu.

I highly do NOT recommend booking this…

I highly do NOT recommend booking this company.. Haku travel is a big scam.. I am not one to ever write a bad review and I waited a week to write this to see what their excuse or give me an answer to why my tour was not what they stated.. THEY GHOSTED. We booked the 4 day Inca trail hoping to be trekking for several hours a day. We did not! We only trekked One Day. The program they stated is NOT WHAT you will get. Yes we did the mountain biking which was great but only for 2 hrs instead of 3. Then the first day we did NOTHING.. we were suppose to walk for 45 min but our guide didn’t seem to be bothered. Next day we were suppose to start a 2.5 trek we got in a CAR and drove. We did zip-lining which was fantastic but they lie about the price. They said it was $20 then with 4 different excuses it was $30. Stay away there are other better companies that actually follow their program. I asked several other travelers and they were really happy with how they were followed what was promised. There were more issues. STAY AWAY go to a different company. I am a frequent low maintenance traveler and I hate to give any negative review but this one deserved it. BIG SCAM!!

Awful company, avoid at all costs!

Disorganised, unreliable, total rip off. Please do not book your treks with Haku Travel. I booked the Salcantay Trek with my friend and we were so disappointed.

The itinerary of the trek does not line up with what Haku Travel claim on their website.

Someone in our team who also booked with Haku Travel received my friend's Machu Picchu entrance ticket which meant she couldn't enter Machu Picchu due to Haku Travel's shameful disorganisation/lack of care.

We didn't receive a duffle bag that we had ordered and paid for so had to carry our clothes in a bin bag for 5 days. Other members of our group who booked with other companies received a bag and their Machu Picchu ticket in advance.

We had to pay double the price for our sleeping bags than our teammates.

Haku Travel's briefing the night before the trek was awful - the "guide" was rude and knew nothing about the trek and told my friend she shouldn't be doing the trek (despite no warnings/checks) on Haku Travel's website.

After we returned from the trek, we went to complain at Haku Travel's office. The representative did not care at all but eventually said we can receive a refund by emailing 'Find Local Trips'. We have emailed repeatedly and have received no response. A total scam.

Haku Travel was both the worst company and the most expensive in comparison to everyone else in our group. Don't book with 'Find Local Trips' - we booked through them for this trek which Haku Travel also work with. For a better than awful experience, book elsewhere.
