Disappointing
Disappointing on both occasions when we had no other choice but to use Gerhard's, first for a new refrigerator and then over a year later for a replacement stove. In both cases, customer service was horrible. Once the sale was made, it was as if we didn't exist. Indeed, walking into their store when there were issues with our refrigerator that had not been addressed was an exercise in frustration as I stood there for many minutes before any of the staff sitting further back with nothing to do bothered to help. Same with the stove; it was installed but clearly something was not measured properly since it could easily fall down into the space below it. After the installer said he would order a part to fix it, over a month later I still had to contact Gerhard's to ask them to reach out to him for an update, and they seemed to do so begrudgingly. We had many issues with our refrigerator as well, requiring two service visits, and it was apparent from the second service visit that the doors had not been installed in a level fashion. I would avoid them unless absolutely necessary.
Don't Stand Behind their Products
Two months ago I would have rated them a 5 because I bought several appliances--dishwasher, stove, etc.--and always had great service. HOWEVER, be warned that they do not stand behind their products.
I recently bought a washer-dryer set. The dryer never worked. They came and replaced the circuit board. Still didn't work.
They said we needed to check our electricity. We did. All fine.
They said they needed to contact the company (LG) and that the company needed THREE VISITS before they would replace it!
We are now FIVE WEEKS without a dryer, and they are telling us we have to wait for the company (LG).
All of our requests for just sending a replacement for the lemon have gone unheeded. When we call Gerhard's, they just shrug. When we call the company, they either don't get back to us or set up a call and then don't class.
THIS IS RIDICULOUS. We thought Gerhard's was a reputable, reliable, and honest company. IT IS NOT. Everything is fine until there is a problem.

I can't recommend this store based on my recent experience. I needed a new refrigerator and thought I'd have a better experience here than at Lowe's or Home Depot since they focus solely on appliances. I was mistaken.
If you care about your property, think twice before getting an appliance delivered from them. This was my first purchase, and it will definitely be my last.
The delivery staff seemed rushed and ended up damaging my plaster walls leading into the kitchen. They were careless, trying to force a larger unit into a smaller space without making the necessary adjustments. When I pointed out the damage, they just shrugged it off, saying it was a 'difficult fit.' But honestly, it wouldn't have been if they had just turned the unit properly. Lowes got the original fridge in without damage...
I was told that they are not responsible for the damage. The delivery driver handed me a phone with a blank screen "to sign that the fridge was delivered." I mentioned the damage and was told to call the store. There was no text to read on the screen. I feel scammed by this company. They "are sorry for the inconvenience and offered me a measly $100. Knowing fully that they caused the damage.

Does not stand behind their work
We recently purchased a GE dishwasher from Gerhard's; we wanted to buy locally, and since they said that their "installers" were also locally sourced and vetted by them, we figured we'd get a better experience from them than if we went to one of the big box stores. The dishwasher we were looking at was fairly priced, and there were no real issues when purchasing, as we knew what we wanted and the sales person really didn't need to do much "selling". We scheduled a time for the dishwasher to be delivered and installed, and since it'd be better to have it delivered in the afternoon, I requested some time after 12:00pm.
This was my first issue (albeit not a big one, but an inconvenience worth mentioning to those looking to purchase from Gerhard's): they said that they couldn't put in the actual time of the delivery, but they'd put in there that the afternoon would be better. I get a message the next day that the delivery would be in the morning...I responded to the email stating that I needed it in the afternoon, as no one would be around to receive it in the morning; they told me that they could not control when the unit was going to be delivered, and I'd have to reschedule altogether. That's fine, as it was rescheduled for the next day in the afternoon.
The installer came, and went about the delivery and installation. All seemed fine, as they tested the installation in front of me, I signed off, and then they went off on their way. This brings me to my next issue: when I tried to open an adjacent cabinet drawer, I found that part of the installation screw had gone into the drawer, and as it opened, gouged out the side of the drawer (see attached pics). These drawers are relatively new, and now one is damaged because of an inept installer.
My third issue is this: I sent a message to the Gerhard delivery email address telling them what happened, and the response I got was that they would have to have the installer contact me; this SCREAMS to me "We don't stand behind our work", and that's a HUGE red flag for me. Needless to say, the installer never reached out. I waited a week, then I called the Gerhard's Customer Service line and told them what happened - they transferred me to their Delivery department, who then told me that...they need to have the installer contact me. Again, after another week, I received no response.
In looking through other negative reviews for Gerhard's, it appears that a "representative" posts a canned reply to "contact us directly" so "we can help make this right!" - a note on that...I did contact their customer service, and no effort (not even an apology) was made to even remotely address the issue. Almost two weeks later and I am still waiting for a response. Buyer beware when dealing with them that once the sale is made, you are pretty much on your own to fix any issues. If you're handy and can install these yourself, you may have no issues with them...but if you're like most homeowners dealing with purchasing and installing an appliance, you may want to go somewhere else for a better experience.
Ordered refridge
Ordered refridge, 2 weeks later, never came. Tried to del sub model that was $700 cheaper. No credit for order. Funny, called another appliance dealer and had model I wanted installed next day. Thieves!! Don't trust them
Horrible customer service
We purchased a new LG washer and dryer from Gerhard Appliances in Glenside on November 17, 2021, delivered on November 30. Due to the location of the dryer in the home, a side-vented dryer was needed. The LG dryer we purchased could be side-vented. We were assured multiple times that the dryer would be side-vented and ready to install prior to delivery - that was not the case. Calling customer service was frustrating to say the least. I received a number to call to set up an installation date for December 9th. That, however, was just to have the dryer side-vented, not actually installed. More phone calls - this time we were told it would all be taken care of on the 9th. We received a phone call on Tues, Dec 7 asking if I wanted to go to the warehouse and pick up the side vent installation kit - unbelievable. Silly us, we were under the impression that the authorized LG repair person would bring the kit with him/her. Another call to the store to customer service, asking for help - left a message asking for a return call. That call was ignored. We decided it was truly not worth the frustration and aggravation dealing with a company who, after purchasing products from them, offer no real solutions/help - you are left on your own to solve the problems they created. We will be dealing directly with the LG company to get the dryer properly installed . Another call to Rosa in customer service requesting a refund for the side vent kit ($70) and the installation of said kit ($139.99). She stated she couldn’t help, transferred my call. Surprisingly, (not really), that person couldn’t help, asking me why I was transferred to him, who then transferred me to another person. Liam, the final person I spoke with, was the only person who was helpful and stated he would begin the refund process. We decided to purchase the washer and dryer from an actual appliance store since we needed a dryer that could be side-vented - mistakenly thinking that would be the best. There is absolutely no way that we would ever purchase another appliance from Gerhards.
Gerhard's Frigidaire Refrigerator Defect
We purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator in February 2021. After we received the refrigerator we noticed the double doors were not aligned properly and were off by 1/4 inch. Gerhards sent six service technicians. We asked after the second service call for a new refrigerator and they gave us a two year warranty instead. We are very frustrated and paid over $2K full price. We keep getting the run around from Fast Appliance and Gerhard's and no one is taking responsibility. Gerhard's hopes we go away and accept the defect. We will definitely NEVER do business with Gerhard's again. Gerhard's does not care about their customers. Costco or Amazon would have resolved the issue quickly and to the customer's satisfaction!!
