First of all User interface is horrible…
First of all User interface is horrible and not intuitive. Second - if you need to use a language that is not left to right - good luck finding how to do it. Third - there is no way to really put in music - even that you own - without a subscription. This program wasted my time completely and ruined precious time by being unintuitive and difficult. I'd never pay for a subscription.

Regarding music, it's possible to add audio in different ways. With a free account, you can insert audio using a URL from platforms like YouTube, SoundCloud, or Spotify. With a premium plan, you can also upload audio files directly or record your voice in the editor. To do this, go to Insert > Audio and choose the option that best fits your needs.

A cool program, but the subcription is confusing and a little deceptive
I've used Genially for years and love the functionality - butthe account and subscription system is really confusing. They've transitioned to using a team system for collaboration, but apparently if you want to renew/upgrade, you have to purchase one PER TEAM. It's not account-wide.
I ran into an issue when I was trying to upgrade/renew my plan, and if you go through your account, it doesn't prompt you at all about this. So if you pay for a subscription, it may still look like a free account if you click on a different team. I'm not sure what the point is of having separate subscriptions per team when this is really the only way you can collaborate on projects. If you pay for a subscription is should apply it to everything on your account, NOT team specific.
For things that are team specific, it needs to be more apparent when you're going through account settings. It's a little confusing and deceptive when you go through your account to purchase a subscription, but it doesn't explicitly tell you it's not for your whole account.

Genially for Interactive Resource Hubs
The biggest thing that made my experience with Genially great was how engaging my finalized resource hub for the edtech tool Gimkit became. With the interactivity options I added, it became a go-to space for teachers throughout my school district who utilize the gamification platform. Genially improves engagement and student learning
As an educator, Genially is my favorite tool to use in the classroom for the following reasons:
1. I can make anything interactive for my students. For instance, I'll create interactive maps, graphs, and images that the students can interact with in a variety of ways. I've seen that this not only increases engagement, but helps with actually learning the content.
2. Using Genially Live, I can have my students sign into my Genially (similar to how Nearpod does), which allows them to follow along with the Genially on their device. I control the page, but they keep the embedded interactivity. They also have a variety of interactive question types that I can embed in my lessons to quickly check for understanding in the lesson. This allows me to respond immediately to address any misconceptions on the fly instead of waiting for results of the upcoming test.
3. Digital Escape Games! I love to gamify and create fun experiences, and Genially makes it so easy. They have a variety of templates already made that simply require your content questions and answers and it's done-- or you can customize it however you want.
4) They keep adding amazing new features, including widgets and AI features. In particular, I love being able to add a picture and remove the background right from Genially.
Overall, as an educator and a Digital Learning Specialist, I give the highest recommendations for Genially. It's interactive, engaging, and will help student learning far more than using those boring Google Slides and Microsoft Power Points that are tuned out.

This is one of the best sites/apps for educators and corporate professionals to be creative and shine in many aspects. I love that you don't need to know much about technology to produce something amazing. You can have students or employees create something fun quickly. Genially has my students reading and engaged through interactive questions and quests, as well as supports them with creating their own study guides and review games through the templates provided on the site.
The Genially team keeps releasing new features that keep up with AI, images, and content. I have made it so students have felt accomplished and proud to present their work.
I love that this company listens and strives to make things easier for the creative people who are not gifted with technology. Once you become more familiar with the site, the creation process is quick and easy. My students have mentioned that Genially is like having the Genie because the site turns building professional-looking things into a magic trick; they could not believe I had built those.

Auto Renew after Canceling Subscription
I have been trying to cancel my subscription for the last two years. I cancel, take a screenshot of the cancellation and never receive a confirmation that it has cancelled. And now it has auto-renewed again.
The product itself was fine (when I actually needed it). But I am so sick of cancelling the subscription and getting auto-renewed. This is ridiculous.

All Genially premium plans renew automatically according to our Terms and Conditions. The cancellation must be completed from your account settings, and once done, the system shows a confirmation and keeps the plan active only until its expiration date. After that, no new charges should apply.
We’ve reviewed your case and can confirm that your cancellation request from 27/09/2025 has now been correctly processed. Your plan will not renew again.
To clarify what happened with the past renewals, could you please share with us the screenshots you mentioned (from your previous cancellation attempts)? We wrote to your email to gather this information. With that, we’ll investigate further and make sure everything is resolved fairly.

Horrible/Non-Existent Customer Service
I have used this for online teaching but stopped using it. Customer service is non existent. I was one day late cancelling my subscription and I could not get ahold of anyone to request a refund. Will not use again or recommend to anyone. Their online contact form does nothing and they never get back to you.
(In reply to response) - I never received any reply in any form. I completed their online request form twice and still got no reply. I’m not sure who they think they responded to but it was definitely not me.

(Yes, I feel compelled to add that now.) My critiques: I don't think the way to contact the company is very accessible. I don't even remember how I was able to send a complaint... It took some clicking around. I would have preferred to resolve my issue over the phone, but I never saw that as an option. Expect up to a week for an initial response from the support team, but up to a business day for all replies thereafter. All in all...I'm just happy I have my account back!

Although our plans are non-refundable as outlined in our Terms of Service, our team still offered an exceptional solution: switching you to a monthly plan or issuing a partial refund to cover processing costs. This was proposed in good faith to find a fair resolution and support your concerns.
We haven’t yet received a response to our latest message from July 23rd and we’re still open to working with you. Impossible to cancel account
Four years ago, while my son was in high school, he signed up for an account using my credit card. I have contacted Genially to cancel the account. They are requesting the following:
A bank account ownership certificate for the account linked to the subscription
A receipt of the payment made for the Genially subscription
The signed authorization document (we’ll provide this if you choose to proceed this way)
And since the email domain is corporate, we also require a signed authorization from your organization allowing us to act on their behalf
I have the credit card in my possession, I am able to provide the charge date, the credit card number, and the charge amount and they still are requesting the above.
I will not provide them with the above, it's a breach of my private information. I've contacted my credit card company to take action to block this company.
