I have decided to close my express.com account due to many mistakes and unanswered calls. This business is not a liable company in terms of refunds and account changes.
I called the company to dispute a $27 late fee and eventually they credited $15 part of the fee. After numerous phone calls one of the managers credited the rest of the late fee $12 which went into my bank account. After closing my account I received a $12 charge which I received with my statement. I guess I was charged after I closed my account….I did not think they are able to close an account with a balance or charge a card after closing it? For over the last two weeks I’ve been trying to get in touch with a customer service representative without any luck. The bill is due in a few days and I cannot make a phone call or make a payment or get online because my account has been closed. Also nobody picks up the phone. This is the worst business I had to deal with in my life so far. If you do not want headaches please don’t sign up with express.com
Ordered leggings online
Ordered leggings online. They notified me a week later that my order was canceled. I called about it because I didn't cancel the order. They informed me they didn't have any in my size. I asked which sizes were available and they didn't have any sizes over a size small... so I asked if they kept the website updated to the products they have available and got no real answer. They told me to call back in a week to check availability..that's pretty inconvenient.. why even have an online shopping option if it's not kept up to date. I assume this happens frequently because they won't actually charge you until the order is shipped out to you.

DO NOT BUY ONLINE WHEN YOU'RE FROM CANADA. 1) The dress arrived later than expected, fine, let's blame covid, 2) you have to pay for your own return. From BC to ON flat rate with tracking was $18 and you must use tracking as they did not refund me until I gave them the tracking number as they claimed they never received it, and 3) you do not get your initial shipping cost back NOR the international service fee, therefore, I paid CAD$88 for a dress, I only got CAD$40 back (which includes the $18 shipping I paid). When Express retail shops were in Canada, I was a huge fan. I am not a fan of this online experience at all and will not be purchasing from them again.
They are horrible
They are horrible. It was the worst online shopping experience ever. I placed an $400 order and I received a thank you note with the order number and surprisingly found the day after that haven’t received an order confirmation email and it doesn’t show on my account and some of my items are sold out can’t get it anymore. All what they are doing is saying sorry it didn’t go through. Wasted my time and won’t waste my money with express again.
Don't Buy Express Jeans!
My wife purchased jeans for me late last year. After only a few wears, the seam in the waist came apart and the was an odd shrinkage of some horizontal threads in the jeans making them unwearable.
Express simply gave us the run around.

Love express! My favorite place to shop by far!! If I do run into problems with orders, I chat with a rep online and they amaze me with the way they fix so quickly. Beautiful clothes too❤️
Beware!
The worse system for returning items. If you receive an item and you simply don't like it, if you receive an item and it's defective, any reason you have for returning an item. You have to pay your own returns! It gets deducted from your return money and they will not waive it even when you email them, they ask you to take pictures and all kinds of things and they still won't waive the return fee.To simply put it, you pay your own returns and or take it to the nearest store even if it's 1 hour away from your house. Horrible customer service and the clothes is now very thin and made with defects. If you try on the pants and something is off, they turn everywhere and not fitting right in places, how do you take a picture of that? It's a horrible way of doing business online, clothes is complicated and there are many reasons why someone will try them and simply, they fit or feel wrong. Very, very disappointing, I know you are trying to make the buyer not return the item for your greed, but it's not a good way of doing business. Customers might not always be right, but they are the ones that make your business fail or keep on succeeding.
Horrible customer service
I made several purchases online. Some of my emails showed a invoice on what products I ordered, how I paid, and what amount I paid. There was one order where I did not receive this email and have asked 3 people now to send me proof of payment, as it was a business expense. The first and second person told me the only 'proof of payment' I would be receiving is a confirmation email. When I reached out a third time they told me an email had already been sent to me, which it had not. All I needed was proof that I paid for items from this company with my business card.
Can't buy anything
I am not sure how you can do business in the 21st Century and not have a website that functions properly. I tried to buy mens jeans, and none of the links brought up a selection of any sort. I thought it might be me, but my daughter said she had problems with the site as well. Please fix the site. Thanks!
Shop in store, not online.
I never have any complaints when I shop in the stores. I love their clothing and the staff is usually helpful and friendly. I haven’t had the same experience when shopping on their website. I recently placed an order and put all of the correct info in before signing into my account to get the shopper points for my purchase. After I was asked to sign in, everything referred to my old information, not realizing this, I placed the order and realized I needed to call to make the corrections to the billing and shipping info. She could not cancel the order or make corrections because it was already in process. Now I have to call the courier once it’s shipped so they can intercept the package. Then, I have had ongoing issues with their website and getting my password reset, I asked her if she could send a link since the “forgot password” function never seemed to do anything, I would never get a link. She said I should clear my cache and cookies, otherwise I’ll have to wait 5-7 business days for IT to manually send me a link. I let her know I didn’t mind waiting because nothing has worked so far. She said she sent a request, but just generally didn’t seem like she wanted to help. Who knows if she actually sent to request to IT.
Again, I will continue to buy from the stores but it’s definitely more of a headache if you have to order online and make any corrections or changes.

Express had a one day sale online only. When i placed my order there was technical difficulties on their site that would not allow me to check out. They blamed it on paypal, so i directly contacted paypal and they said they were having no issues. I called and explained this to the manager and they told me they could never adjust a price on a prior sale even though it was their fault. It was a signficant difference in price so i will not be shopping there anymore.
Express used to be my favorite
The last time I made a payment I was $2 short. I caught it, and paid it, but apparently did so late. Thinking I paid off my card, I ignored my subsequent statement available emails. Turns out, I was being charged $10 late fees, 1st on the $2 late payment, then on the late fee, so I ended up with a $23 charge. I tried to make a purchase today and couldn't because my credit card had been shut off because I had the $23 payment pending. I found this out when I called Customer Service. I have spent thousands of dollars at Express over the years, and what they came back with was "well, we'll give you $10 back". Seriously....billion $ retailer? You're going play that bull$#!% game with me? I could care less about the $10...it's the principle.
Guess what Free People and Anthropologie? My thousands of dollars I would have spent with Express going forward will now be yours! Bye Express! Keep treating good customers like this and see what happens. There are plenty of other great places to shop.
