Bought a 2015 reg Peugeot 308 in August 2024. Sales people were great at the time and very friendly. We were sold a premium guarantee with the car which we were told would cover most things that could go wrong with the car within the first couple of years after buying. We also bought a service plan.
A year later, a couple of months after the first service where everything was given the green light, an engine light comes on so we booked it in at Evans Halshaw in November 2025 thinking this was where the premium guarantee will come in handy. We didn't get the car back until February 2026, and were only given a courtesy car for the last 3 weeks of that time even though we don't have use of any other cars. At one point in January, we were told the work was complete. My partner went to pick up the car and the same warning light came on while he was in the parking lot.
Our car was stuck in a queue for over a month for the insurance company to get back to Evans Halshaw about whether the work was covered under the guarantee or not. Evans Halshaw told us we needed almost £3000 worth of work on the car. The premium guarantee only covered £900 of the work, and we are having to pay £1700. For a DPF filter warning light.

I would have liked to see the oil analysis report that was supposedly taken. The oil stated on the invoice is Castrol magnetec 0W30D. The D normally symbolises suitability for a diesel when my car is petrol (ford mustang GT). Would also have liked to see the air filter removed to see if there was any general dirt/debri/contaminants for me to keep an eye on.
The car was not washed after the service and was completely covered in bird poo that was not there whrn dropped off so I also had to wash the car whrn I returned home. All in all, for £490 it seemed a lot of money for what was actually done to the car. Was only in the workshop approx 2 hours according to the tracker

Good quality customer service, a great customer experience. They kept me informed of the progress of the MOT via an e-mail link sent to my phone. The MOT was price competative and they did not try to sell me any other products. Very polite and professional. Would highly recommend this service and I will use this garage again. I am disgusted with the service we have received.
Evans Halshaw gave us an, online, quote for us to sell our car to them.
We took an eighty mile trip to make the sale.
The car was in the, exact, condition we described but we were shocked and angry, to say the least, when we were offered, almost, 30% less than the original amount.
We are, very, busy people and do not appreciate having our time wasted.
This is not a company we would, ever, recommend using.
It’s, just, a shame we’re unable to award zero stars.

In all of my 50 years of buying cars, I’ve never experienced such a disgusting service. My car was delivered leaking petrol and later discovered had a faulty tyre among other faults. I even made a complaint to Evans Halshaw H/O. Which after 5 weeks in their workshop, was finally returned with the petrol leak fixed. Other work still outstanding| I decided to replace the tyre myself at Kwik Fit, 30 minute job done immediately so at least I could drive it. The sales and service staff gave me all the assurances it would be fixed but in reality they never delivered.
Wish I'd found this Facebook page before buying from them 'evans halshaw's customer service is the worst'
