In my opinion, Avast is the best antivirus software. I have been using the product for 15 years with no viruses. It is pricey because they have separate subscriptions for different components, such as... See more

Avast NO WORKS.
The computer has been running much slower lately.
It keeps recommending programs and displaying annoying pop-up screens for applications that should already be integrated into the antivirus software.
There are also programs that stop working properly even before the license expires, despite not even offering a renewal option. It feels as though they deliberately restrict functionality just because you haven't renewed yet.
Ah, and the messages are displayed in Catalan, even though this is Spain.
Very much likely to recommend avast…
Very much likely to recommend avast antivirus to friends, but its left upto them to use or not. I want complete protection to my system and oftenly getting pop-up like
1) stolen personal information is at risk of being sold
2) Your online account privacy settings might be at risk
3) Your private details may have been exposed in a data leak
4) Your stolen personal data could be circulating on the dark web etc etc.
Disclose the complete details regarding per year subscription amount.Thank you.
even a 1 star is too generous a ranking for this app
I am only giving this godforsaken app a 1/5 because I cannot give it a 0. Even that would be too generous. The app fearmongers you from the very beginning. It uses pop up notifications saying 'critical security: webcam unsecured, weak passwords, etc.,' or some bullshit like that which isn't actually an immediate issue, but it is designed to make you stress. This persuades you to download their premium subscriptions. I imagine this works wonders for the app regarding more vulnerable customers (the elderly, anxious people etc.) who are more likely to fall for this nonsense and spend their money. I accidentally downloaded the wrong subscription, decided I had no reason to keep it or even to purchase the correct one, and therefore sought out a refund. Never in my life have I encountered such a terrible customer service webpage. God forbid you want to get a refund the day after purchasing (WELL within the 30-day refund policy). No no, you must of course be redirected to 12 different web pages, all with the exact same shit layout. Once you finally reach the refund page, you are directed to an AI chatbot. The worst AI chatbot, I wholeheartedly believe, that has ever been created. After the bot sends you exactly one unhelpful message and then promptly disconnects itself, the chat then claims it will 'direct' you to a person. A bit of tongue in cheek here because it does not in fact direct you to a person. If you want a refund, you must go through with this chat feature. If you choose to click out of it, the refund process cancels and you need to do it again. There is no way to escape it. Absolutely shit app and customer service page. No point in using it at all, there are surely better antivirus software's out there. Not worth the money (if you were thinking of buying a subscription - DON'T!) or even the effort of clicking the download button for just the free version. 0/5, abominable.
UPDATE 25/6/26: finally got connected to a 'human' agent. I do not believe for a second that I was talking to another person. It was very clearly another bot. So not only is attempting to access a refund on their website impossible, they are also unclear about who you are communicating with. Fantastic. I was very stern about wanting a full refund, but the bot insisted I get a 30% refund immediately. I said no. It then said I should get a 50% refund. I again said no, and this time I stated how terrible the customer service is. Once I said that, I believe they then must've transferred me to a person because the next message said 'I have already refunded the money and cancelled your subscription...' Abysmal customer service. We shall see if they do in fact refund the money in the next 5-7 days, as they promised. Truly awful experience, shame on them.

I had Avast Premium for everything…
I had Avast Premium for everything until the VPN quit functioning. I still have Premium Security until it runs out but it is very annoying. More pop ups than a bad 90's porn site. Constant interruptions about nothing more than marketing.

Windows PC extremely slow
Ever since I installed Avast Premium on my Windows computer, all my programs have been running extremely slowly. That would be okay if I could configure Avast to disable resource-intensive scans. But Avast ignores my settings and activates them on its own. On top of that, a pop-up appears every 10 minutes. This program is driving me desperate.

Would recommend
Very good protection. The pop-ups are a bit annoying.
Overall very happy and would highly recomend.
Looks like a scam to me, theyll take your money and make it hard to figure out why or how to get it back.
Total joke. For one, once installed you are constantly spammed with pop ups trying to get you to buy other products. That alone is a pain.
However I realized I had somehow paid for avast clean up on top of my avast premium. I only saw this because I checked paypal purchases.
On further inspection I couldn't see the clean up package on my main account subscriptions and trying to log in using my paypal account in case I was unwittingly running two avast subscriptions didn't work. So Ive been charged for a product I didnt know, cant see or use and can't unsubscribe from becuase I cant see, or select it within my account subscriptions.
I decided to contact support which is when the fun really started because its next to impossible to actually email someone.
Eventually I got to a contact form, still not sure how I did it and made my case.
I received an email back from a no reply account saying they couldn't unsubscribe me for some reason (despite giving them the transaction id number and explaining everything above) and they gave me a contact number in the email which doesn't work.
You click the support links and get sent on a merry go round again. literally spent £100's on avast only to discover if I have a problem they literally don't care and hide behind an impenetrable wall of links that don't apply to my issue. Unsubscribed from all packages and all further payments will be blocked.
Avast, if your out there I'd love to hear from you and don't his me with some generic "were sorry to hear from you, please contact....." response.
You have my email case number, you therefore have my details (email 24879399).

Avast malware you mean
experience
Want a tip?
Their upselling tactics and automatic subscriptions are a huge nuisance and best of luck trying to delete their program!! I’ve deleted the program from my computer but the “Avast malware” is still present and I get no less than 5-10 Avast pop ups every time I log on to my computer, which slows down my computer and makes them more of a pirate than what I originally paid them to prevent!

AVAST SCAM
I used them as advised by a friend to remove and stop virus infection warning pop-ups on my computer. There was no virus on my computer, but they charged me $48.08. To stop the pop-ups, they asked me to pay them $150 which I did free after I got instructions from my office IT department. They do not have phone number to claim the money I paid.

AvasAvast is good anti-tracking showed me all the…
Avast anti-tracking showed me all the anti tracking items it had stopped. It was quiet with no annoying pop-ups trying to sell me more.
Even though it's an antivirus program
Even though it's an antivirus program, it behaves like a virus. It constantly annoys me with pop-ups trying to upsell other add-ons. The AntiTrack feature makes it impossible to use the browser for normal surfing, and even when disabled, it keeps bothering me with ads every other minute. I will not be renewing this product and I warn other potential customers against buying it.

A vast pain in the rear end
Avast Premium Security is a good product marred by annoying glitches, pop ups and poor customer service.
Glitches:
1. Online email protection intermittently fails and is a pain to get going again.
2. Updates to included apps don't install properly on occasions and I have had to uninstall and reinstall to get them working.
Pop ups
Continually get upselling pop ups with 'scary' messages that my system is at risk.
Customer Service
The AI system doesn't answer the questions that you ask and neither do the real people. They make assumptions rather than gathering the facts.
It makes living with the package ' A vast pain in the rear end',
Such a shame when the core package is so very capable and the anti-virus is world class. i don't question the competence of the package to protect. But the above comments detract from its core brilliance as I have to waste time dealing with them.
If they went away, I would happily award 5 stars.
I am a paid premium subscriber of Avast…
I am a paid premium subscriber of Avast One Premium. Everytime, I start using or cleaning up, I am hit with intrusive pop-ups promoting paid upgrades, literally BEGGING to upgrade. Effing BEGGARS. Last time I ever use this crap.

Nonstop notifications to buy their other products
The nonstop ads that pop up are extremely annoying. My scan was clean of issues but the software will flag things like cookies or privacy issues and then try to get you to pay extra for an upgrade. Their number 1 priority seems to be selling more software.

Continual pop-ups interrupting work…
Continual pop-ups interrupting work flow (it's popping up right now!! Random withdrawals from my bank acct for renewals with no notice, just poof gone. Hate 'em!
The driver updates popped up (6 of them) and apparently one of the drivers was corrupted (thanks Avast) also charged $86 don’t know what for. I now have the blue screen of death. Whatever happened, it kicked Microsoft completely off. Computer is with tech repair now.

Impossible to uninstall + nonstop pop‑ups
Avast refuses to uninstall and constantly spams pop‑ups even when you disable notifications. The uninstaller freezes, Windows can’t remove it, and the only “solution” is downloading their own removal tool — which I’m not doing again.
No antivirus should behave this aggressively. The experience feels intrusive, frustrating, and borderline deceptive. Zero stars.
