Awful company!

Awful company!! Avoid if you can.
Customer is never right, have put 2 or 3 jobs there way and every one has been a shambles and cost me double what it should have at minimum. Managers attitude and customers service skills are passed down through others unfortunately.

Outstanding Service From Start to Finish

I had a puncture on Monday, a bad one. I called my Breakdown Insurer and they arranged for Auto Services Perth to pick up my car and tow it to the nearest tyre fitter.

From start to finish the service was outstanding. Luke called to let me know when he'd be arriving (45 mins ahead of the estimated time given which was superb).
He made sure my car was secure, looked after it as if it were his own and got me and my car to the garage in a timely manner.

He was very engaging and extremely professional. Auto Services Perth, you've got a good one there, hold on to him, he's worth his weight in gold!!

A real rescue

Unfortunately suffered a cooling system leak while on camping holiday. Since no local garage (i.e. between Perth and Inverness) could do the repair within a reasonable time, my breakdown service authorised recovery home and arranged same with Auto Services Perth.
Luke arrived within 10 minutes of estimated time, and was very courteous and professional. Since an overnight stay en route was necessary, he arranged pickup time the following morning with us and arrived on the dot. Delivered us safely and couldn't have been more helpful.
Very happy indeed with the service received from both Perth Auto Services and my breakdown cover provider.

We got a good driver, thank you Neil Morrison.

Used this company as part of a relay service through Hadleigh Breakdown. This was the 5th leg of a 6 part recovery relay taking 3 days in total, the recovery was later than advised as seemed to be commonplace during the relay and sadly the vehicle sent could not cater for the advised dog. The driver Neil Morrison that had the job was however, very helpful, polite and understanding and did as much as he could to ensure that us and our dog were as comfortable as possible for the trip, it's the people that make or break companies and on this basis Neil saved us from what could have been a bad experience and earns the company a 5 star review.

400 mile recovery of 1979 Lotus Esprit

My clutch went on my classic Lotus Esprit 400 miles from home as we were travelling to see our daughter in a show just outside Perth. Nightmare. We are with GEM Motoring Assist. They put us onto Auto Services Perth Ltd. And, this was early on a Monday morning - the worst time to request breakdown recovered because everyone is. Auto Services Perth came out and diagnosed the fault, recommended recovery and then stood up Jordan who would be able to cover the whole journey in one (no nightmare endless relays between recovery trucks and sub contractor companies), to our preferred garage outside Bristol. GEM agreed (after conducting their procedures) and Auto Services Perth had Jordan with his low loader there in half an hour. We left Perth at 11am and were at the garage by mid that evening, over 400 miles later. Jordan was an absolute delight to travel with, a complete driving professional, courteous, kind and thoughtful, and really good company on a long journey after a stressful and uncertain time. I cannot recommend this company and their staff highly enough. Car breakdowns can be emotive and tiring and dealing with all the party’s involved, frustrating; but that was not the case with Auto Services Perth. Highly recommended for recovery and just so pleased to have had them for us - getting back home, 400 miles from the breakdown, in the same day, with professional, good company, was more than we expected or hoped. Thank you, Jordan, and thank you Auto Services Perth. Mark

Awful customer service from drop off…

Awful customer service from drop off right through to pickup - and any follow up if/when you have issues with the quality of the service provided.
Unwilling to take ownership of VW faults despite being only local dealership.
Have had to use them three (for warranty work) - all times unpleasant from front desk (managed by Sharron) onwards. They aren’t interested in solving problems.
(The final disregard for customer service is your need to get yourself from where you pay them to another location under your own steam to pick up your vehicle)

Disgusted at the level of dishonesty

Delighted to finally get paid the £2k you owed us in damages from The AA, but absolutely disgusted at your unprofessional, dishonest and unsafe practises. It is never okay to smoke cannabis and drive a vehicle, never mind one which recovers heavy vehicles and has the ability to cause a fatality if misused.

It doesn’t take much digging to see that many people have suffered the same experience from this company.

Two months of stress, without my adapted vehicle (wheelchair user) having to provide evidence to The AA (they contracted ASP to recover my vehicle) to prove all the lies this company were saying to get out of paying for the damage they caused, which we still don’t how it happened and amounted to just shy of £2000 on top of our original legitimate break down costs.

It’s a huge concern that you claim to work with the police when I’ve witnessed unsafe practises, dishonest employees, low skilled mechanics, a rude and unprofessional director and a manager who seemed to be a professional at responsibility avoidance. But none of it was enough when The AA honoured our damages claim.

Sadly many people won’t see these reviews before coming across your company as many of your jobs are not people choosing to be repeat customers, but jobs contracted by other recovery services who can’t meet the demand. But, I hope this will help some people avoid having their car delivered smashed up and broken and then spend months trying to collect the costs.

Cowboys

Cowboys. There's a reason you won't usually find the same staff in the workshop or parts department from any previous visits.

The Customer Is Never Right…

Last Friday my rear window stuck down on a 2017 Discovery. The RAC were called as I could not secure the vehicle overnight. Auto Services Perth arrived and had a look. Nice polite lad said he’d have a look. After inspection he said that he wasn’t sure how to remove door card and didn’t want to cause damage as it was on pretty securely. The vehicle was then driven to ASP premises and stored until Monday. On my instructions the door was stripped and a faulty regulator was the diagnosis. On the Tuesday it was discovered that Land Rover didn’t have the part and was on back order with no date estimated. My own warranty cover Autoguard also refused to cover the work. Again staff polite and informative. It was decided that I would collect car. On collection all the components of the door assembly including fixings and trim were lying on the back seat and the rear footing area. That evening a fully qualified Land Rover Technician began the process of isolating the window and reassembling all the trim. He picked up the door card and showed me the the door pocket had came away from the card. The clips were broken…
I didn’t get too excited and the next morning I sent an email with a video showing the damage. Having no reply that day I took the vehicle back to them. The gent that would be dealing with it had gone home.
The next day I got a phone call saying that after speaking to the mechanic he denied any wrongdoing…. The chap stated that the lad was honest and he had no reason to disbelieve him. I tried to say that I see myself as quite an honest chap. This was dismissed. Basically said I took the vehicle away incomplete and it was my word against his. I never broke it, they never broke it, who did then?????
We shall never know. I even paid £90 for my troubles😅😅😅

Three experiences with Auto Services

In chronological order.
27-Aug-21. Warning light leads to diagnosis of engine problem on Fiat Ducato based Adria Coral motorhome. Fixed with no small difficulty (for ASP). Full explanation for large (£1400+) bill. Front-of-house and engineering staff most helpful throughout. Van then drove with considerably more available power.
08-Mar-23. MoT and another warning light issue on Adria. Tyres close to the limit; I asked they all be changed for the same Continental Camper tyres. All staff again most helpful and well-mannered. Van runs beautifully again. Vehicle sold; buyer happy.
18-May-23. Complete rear light failure on (our replacement for the Adria) 19-month old Swift Escape motorhome on Fiat Ducato. Fault diagnosed by ASP as a Swift-fitted component. Local Swift dealer refuses to honour Swift 2-year warranty as the vehicle purchased elsewhere. [Fiat issues under warranty fixable by any Fiat Dealer.] ASP take on the problem which needs a part supplied via that same Swift Dealer. Eventually, ASP are able to obtain the part via the Swift dealer (no thanks to them for their complete indifference; no chance they'll ever get a future motorhome sale from us). Throughout, the ASP staff have been helpful, efficient and considerate. I don't know if ASP have changed management since the experiences of the 1* reviewers but it seems like a different company to me. I come from a family that owned and operated a garage business for 50 years. I would accept that I set appropriately high standards when jobs I cannot fix myself are handed over to a garage whilst having the experience to understand the difficulties garages/vehicle dealers often face behind the scenes. ASP have always operated with me as a 5* business. They have set their own high standard with me; I look forward to them maintaining that with all customers in future.

Needed a Merc light commercial garage…

Needed a Merc light commercial garage to fit a new ABS unit on a sprinter based motorhome . Brake pipes rusty and Flexi pipes past it. All pipes and flexis replaced with new pressure limiter . Advised that front tyres perished . I asked for exact same tyres ( conti 200 van tyres ).cost not an issue .
After paying the bill £4500 ,ouch. I had to walk to their pound ,about half a mile away to collect moby . I asked if the van would start as they had it for almost 3 weeks ,and told there would be no problem. Guess what battery dead ...8.7 volts and cheap Chinese tyres on front . Dead battery means alarm problems . Eventually jump started with MY jump leads ,and reset alarm with no help from mechanic! Apparently they don't use jump leads! Only starter packs that did nothing . Batteries charged up on way home ( 40 miles ) and brakes and ABS all good .
How did they move the moby from the workshop to the pound with flat battery , or did it discharge overnight?
Battery at12.7 volts outside my house without being plugged in.
Brake work satisfactory everything else poor .I won't use ASP again

Called auto services Perth for road…

Called auto services Perth for road side assistance 7 miles south of Perth for a faulty fuel filter and flat battery. I received assistance which consisted of a 5 minute jump start and was sent on my way (despite me raising the issue of the filter, which was dismissed) for £90. I hour later my engine cut out on the middle of the motorway outside Glasgow and I was forced to veer across 2 lanes of traffic with no lights or power. The second roadside mechanic I was forced to call (from a Glasgow based company) looked at the filter and within 5 minutes had me up and running although it cost me a further £100 and almost my life when I was forced to veer across the busy motorway. When I called the next day to explain this to auto services Perth and asked if they’d consider my experience and refund me for half the money as they’re done half a job by jump starting me and neglecting to look at the filter they point blank refused to accept any negligence on their part and hung up on me. Really poor service, overpriced, unthorough, non existent customer service and life endangering... use at your own risk.

Awful service

Emergency roadside recovery was needed, they arrived, Jump started the car and said that should be fine, we specifically asked them to check the engine and they said it’s fine so off we went, 1 hour later, even worse breakdown, no care, they put us in harms way. Avoid this business at all costs especially when they won’t refund us even though they didn’t do anything except come out and didn’t fix the problem, which the 2nd recovery man spotted instantly but by this time was too late.

Read this before dealing with Auto…

Read this before dealing with Auto Services Perth.
We have an Isuzu pickup which does everything it should and although not doing a huge mileage it is serviced every year. In September 2018 I questioned why it should be needing new brake disks and pads when it had only done about 19000 miles. It was suggested that the low mileage could be a reason and a bill for over £1000.00 was paid for the service and brakes.
Roll forward to December 30th 2019 and the pickup was back in Auto Services for a service and MOT, they were asked to check reversing sensors which required replacing and would have to be ordered, cost £120.00. Not worth arguing about but should be noted that these were not covered by the 5 year warranty! On the way home the fuel filter warning light was flashing and when I queried this I was told “we only change the filter when the light is on”. Yes I know....but not worth arguing about just change it when the truck is in for the reversing sensors.
Roll forward to the middle of January and the pickup is left with Auto Services to have the sensors and the filter changed. I get a call from a nice chap to advise that when moving the truck they heard a noise which suggested a wheel bearing was gone, should they investigate. Yes please. A short while later same chap rang to advise it was the brakes, “running metal to metal and would require disks and pads”
Obviously this was queried after last year and only having done about 9000 miles since and even more worryingly the pickup had only been serviced and MOT’d two weeks earlier. I was told the MOT was only a performance test and didn’t require an examination but surely this can’t be right. As for the service I can only assume the tyres were kicked and a bill prepared, no one looked at the condition of the brakes.
Another bill for over £1000.00 and we were on our way again.
Now as you can imagine I was feeling pretty cheated and this festered for a few weeks until I decided to speak to them again for clarification. Had they used genuine Isuzu parts? Had I been diddled. I needed some answers... why isn’t there a check list and advisory’s like other garages provide?
Worth noting here that our Discovery which does a lot of towing and has done almost twice the miles has never required brakes and has been cheaper to service!
So on the 14th of February I spoke to a guy, I think Dave, who listened sympathetically, rememberers me grumbling when I collected the pickup, said he would discuss with senior management and get back to me. Guess what, two weeks later I hadn’t heard from him so rang again. This was on February 28th and I think it was another Dave. He listened very sympathetically, apologised they hadn’t been back to me and was going to discuss with senior management as a matter of urgency and would ring me back.
Well guess what, four weeks on and I haven’t heard a cheep so have decided to share with all my farmer and shooting friends who might just have fancied an Isuzu, nothing wrong with the pickup just the service from AutoServices . Read the claims on their website about caring family business, after reading this that should give you a laugh.
I’m sure there will be others out there who have experienced the same, I can’t imagine they have saved it all for me. I would also assure anyone that is interested that none of this is exaggerated or embellished in anyway ,it’s exactly as it has happened.
I think you can be certain we will not be back and that this post will be shared with Isuzu UK and the MOT people.
