Good products
Good products, but the Customer service department is abyssmal. Hardly any englishcomprehension. I have spent a week and over 20 emails, calls and chats to get my issue resolved to no avail.
Fusion360 was a good bit of software
Fusion360 was a good bit of software. I've been using it for over a year to run my CNC machine. This was installed and setup on the recommendation of an external CNC engineer. For the last year I have quickly and easily imported the designs from solidworks and within 5 to 10 minutes setting the cutting program I require. However since late last week they have updated the post process which has thrown up warning symbols. I booked a scheduled call to speak to technical support and when they called they told me they can't help as it is beyond their technical support but I should post on the forum. I did this although I am not a big fan of posting my problems online. I get 2 responses from the fusion team one stating it's not that difficult but with no help or advise and the other which states I should sit down and read the forum and video. Neither of these were helpful or have allowed me to continue using my CNC so I am now 2 days behind on work. I also use solidworks and have been for 8 years and the difference in help is stunning, Solidworks you call up speak to someone they don't treat you like an idiot will even log on to your PC and talk the issue through with you. You come off the telephone understanding the issue and have gained to your knowledge. Fusion360 if you can speak to someone they can't help. When you write something on the forum some smartarse give you a stupid answer which makes you feel like an idiot and angry! You feel you have wasted your time. This really is a program for a student or hobbyist that is happy to sit in their bedroom watching hours of video and reading forums. For business, the customer service and technical support is a waste of time it doesn't exist. My CNC machine is now down for 2 days so I am looking for new software I can rely on and will support me if they make changes not laugh at my expense.
Waste of time, false advertising for education
When trying to setup fusion 360 for the school I am the network administrator for I was unable to download the software even after being confirmed for the educational licence for the establishment.
The response I receive:
As an IT Admin you can have the license to set up deployment but you cannot download the product on your account. The Educator or Student can on their accounts, but as IT Admin you only have access to the license. You may use the 30 day free trial if you like.
How can an IT Administrator deploy software if they cant download it?
It took 90 minutes of back and forward to be told this. You make these offers of free educational software but have no inclination to assist in setting up or even making it available to the staff administering it. Not to mention the install is poorly compiled with no ability to configure install location etc.
Will be advising my teaching colleagues to avoid using Autodesk products as the support is practically non existent and the products aren't available in the way advertised.

Emailed consistently about wanting to open a business account to sign up a few users. Took me ages to get them to respond with a sales agent. Then I asked a simple question about opening a business account and the sales person has been ghosting me for weeks. I guess AutoDesk doesn't operate as a business and want to make money then? Unprofessional.
I wouldn't use them on principle.
I wouldn't use them on principle.
I'm in the UK and they want me to pay a ridiculous premium for it over (from what I can see) every other country on the planet.
I'll never use them even if they sort that out of principle, and my opinion is you should not either.
What terrible unjustifiable business practise, that simply leaves you looking like crooks (also my opinion).

I bought a subscription for PM & D Collection for $3000 and never got it to work. Inventor got stuck in trial mode. Hed to uninstall and reinstall several times and still got stuck in trial mode. No support, put in support ticket got no answer except that it'll take two days for an answer, but actually never got an answer. I tried to get someone on the phone, but nobody ever called back or answered the phone. I lost a lot of time to trying to solve the issue and lost my work which I've done during trial period.

They helped me very well with a failed transaction/ refund! The service is outstanding. Thanks again to the Autodesk Team.

Customer support sucks beyond belief
Customer support sucks beyond belief. My old computer died and I had to reinstall on a new computer. There is a licensing error that crashes AutoCAD. Over a week of trying to get help. They fix it and then the problem comes back. Almost no ability to speak to ANYONE, including a manager. AutoDESK SUCKS.
Avoid autodesk's softwares at all costs.
Autodesk's softwares have more bugs than you can even imagine. Try to select something ? crash. Try to run a simulation ? crash. Try to breath ? Crash.
The support is poor and most of the time are as lost as you are. They didn't even have the latest version of the soft on their computers the last time I tried troubleshooting with them. They had a 2 years old version.
I could rant for hours, at this point I just despise Autodesk not even trying to provide good products just because they have a monopole. They'll pay sooner or later.
Autodesk Fusion 360 - rubbish customer service
While Fusion 360 is great software and has a nice fresh feel compared to older CAD software, the lack of support massively let's it down.
My colleague paid for a new years license on 28-12-2021 and received an invoice. Two weeks later he still doesn't have access. It is read only and Fusion says 'Expired: Subscribe Now'.
I was told on my first chat with Autodesk that it looks like the seller had not released the license and someone would call me within half an hour. That never happened.
On my second chat a couple of days later I was told someone would call me in the next couple of hours and the case was moved to urgent status. I never heard anything back.
It is a great shame as we were looking to migrate our whole design team from Solidworks to Fusion 360 but looks like we will stick with Solidworks - as once you've paid for it, you can just use it.
neverending licensing issues
I work as a freelancer IT admin for schools and no profits. The Autodesk support service has gone from bad to worse in the last few years.
A few clients have seen their free licenses disappear in thin air. Certificating a new School can be relatively painless, or damn impossible.
If you have a licesing problem, you might as well give up. I'm telling you, I did not give up FOR ONE YEAR, but I'm just about exhausted. They won't fix it. They don't even listen to what you tell them. They just copy paste always the same irrelevant KB articles.
Having to deal with their portal is excruciating. Nothing works. I hate having to deal with them, and devoted myself to stear as much people as I can away from their bloated software.
Ever tried Rhinoceros?
Scammy - hard to cancel subscription
Scammy. They make it EXTREMELY difficult to cancel your subscription. Even with the "original order#" from YEARS ago they required, the process did not work. Subscription management is a basic function. Making it as hard as it was is clearly a tactic to retain users out of frustration.
'For hobby use' licencing is frustrating
I have used Fusion 360 for hobby use for a number of years.
I decided yesterday, after two years of not using it, to draw a plan for a structure in my garden, only to find at 01:00, when the bulk of the design was done, that any ability to print out the detail of the design had been disabled unless one subscribed.
[16Oct21]: Actually limited functionality for documentation does work and you are able to print them - it's not ideal but not as bad as I had first thought.
The stated purpose is that we can use it for hobby use - please explain to me how we are supposed to use it if we can't get printed, or pdf, output for the design.
It is good software, but useless without being able to print the output. I will be looking to find an alternative and would advise anybody to do the same if they want a free CAD system that is actually helpful, rather than simply impersonating itself as 'for hobby use' for marketing purposes.
[16Oct21]: my trials with other software were not successful - frankly even with the limitations Fusion 360 for personal use, it remains my design software of choice
I am so frustrated with Autodesk
I am so frustrated with Autodesk. Poor Navigation, slow, unnecessary security questionnaire for access.
HORRIBLE STAY AWAY 100000%
IF I COULD GIVE THEM A -100000000 STARS I WOULD!!!!!!
After downloading fusion 360 my brand new computer started crashing, then slowly more and more unknown folders were on my computers, I pay for a security app and it caused hundreds of versus and trackers. I had to factory reset my computer, I WORK AT HOME BTW, and now my 600 dollar laptop is done for, I also am losing income, since being a work at home employee I have to have a computer, plus I cant afford a new one right now. so thank you for the major amount of inconvenience
Selling my phone number …
Would really love it if they stopped selling my phone number to scam companies.
Bad customer service
Bad customer service.
I have been working with my school for over a month to get accepted to autocad.
They are not letting me in.
My teacher says they are difficult with every student (who don't pay and want to use a try out version).
They have been holding out on me for over a month in the meantime. Try this, try that, take screen shots. All done, even sent a video. They simply won't let my school.
My teacher has created more than 50 mail addresses to help her students this way. They just let you down.
Worst customer service ever.
My firm has asked to prospect here.
This is seriously disappointing.
I will recommend my company not to order this software.
Too bad for them.
Since 25 years I am a volenteer in…
Since 25 years I am a volenteer in educational activities without any business relation or business profit, for AutoDesk an impossibility to deliver a try-out version of 3D Max. I want a continuation of my AutoCad R13/AutoVision R2 out of the years 1995/1996 but I am neither a student or docent nor in any business. AutoDesk can not handle this situation. The AutoDesk Support Team about my situation: "Unfortunately, it appears that you do not currently qualify for our Education Plan, under the eligibility requirements outlined here".
