Having used 3ngines for the past 8 months we have reserved a number of their renegotiated deals with a high degree of success

Found product had no problem with the order process would purchase from them again

They were very responsive before I placed the order, but once I paid the deposit the entire responsibility was suddenly pushed onto a so-called “supplier”. I quickly realized this meant I could be waiting forever for the item.

Right after I paid, they also changed the price of the part on their website and increased it by £100. I believe this was so the “supplier” could later demand a higher final payment from me.

I requested a refund of my deposit almost immediately, but instead of processing it they began threatening me with court action. This is classic scam-style behavior. They take deposits, pass you to a “supplier”, delay, then pressure you for more money.

Be very careful if you consider using this company. I regret not checking reviews before ordering.

NO. 1 Top sourcing company for engines (Volkswagon) We had a whole may of travelling in our van and we blew a gasket and suffered significant oil loss. My mate mentioned 3ngines for a swap on engines as he has used them prior for he said lots of VW engines that he worked on.

This company is an absolute nightmare to deal with. They use unvetted third-party sellers, and the engine I paid a deposit for turned out to have a head gasket issue. Even one of their own staff confirmed it was faulty, yet they still refused to return my deposit.

Their call staff were useless — they have no proper line to deal with payments (they only take them!), and when I asked to speak with a manager, I was told that wasn’t possible. The only option was to email someone in admin, who was equally unhelpful.

In the end, I had to go through PayPal, who ruled in my favour and refunded me. The whole process was stressful and time-wasting.

Shoddy company — feels like a scam. Do not use.

I ordered a replacement engine for my BMW 1 Series from 3ngines and couldn’t be happier. The engine was exactly as described, and the quality is spot on. Communication was clear throughout, and the whole process was smooth and professional. Highly recommend 3engines for anyone needing a reliable engine supplier!

Don't have any interaction with this company, if you speak to them they won't even confirm the location of their head office. Dodgy as hell!

I recently purchased an engine through the 3ngines website and was really impressed with how smooth the whole process was. They not only supplied the engine but also arranged a fitting through a local garage. Everything was very easy and straightforward from start to finish. Great communication, professional service, and no stress at all. Highly recommend 3ngines if you’re looking for a reliable engine replacement without the hassle!

Please please save your money I paid the £180.00 deposit for an engine to be then told I would receive an email from another company they have never got in touch I cancelled the order a few hours before they sent me anything but then they refused

This review isn’t just about the garbage engine I received, it’s about the website that enables this kind of scam to keep happening. I bought an engine through this platform, and what I got was an absolute lemon: leaking from multiple spots, totally unfit for use, and clearly never tested.

But here’s the real kicker, the website doesn’t care. I contacted their support to report the issue, thinking they’d step in, or at least acknowledge the mess. Nope. They completely washed their hands of it. They “don’t get involved” even when sellers are blatantly ripping people off.

So basically, anyone can list junk parts, collect your money, and disappear and this platform just lets it happen. No vetting. No buyer protection. No consequences for bad sellers. It’s a free-for-all for scammers and a disaster for honest buyers.

If you’re thinking about ordering something serious like an engine from here. DON’T.

my husband and i needed a bmw 3.0 diesel engine fast for our X5 we looked everywhere and they where £4k plus, which we thought was way to much for a suv that is 10 years old, then we found 3ngines we contact them paid the money and engine was delivered in 7 working days which was ok as the garage was very busy, they fitted it and all was good for us saved us a small fortune, yes it took a few weeks but we are happy thank

Great service for locating all Vauxhall engines , they had every engine for less and with much longer warranty than given from other suppliers. Seeing the negative reviews they seem attacked by the same persons family. 3ngines do only hold the deal from its many supplyers and we as a team have never had a serious problem

Just to make everyone aware: even if you paid by bank transfer, you can still ask your bank to raise it as a fraud case under the Authorised Push Payment (APP) scam scheme. I did — and I got my money back.

Please report this to Action Fraud and give your bank the crime reference number when you do. Mine took it seriously.

I was also pressured to remove my review , receiving multiple emails from different aliases filled with pseudo-legal nonsense that wouldn’t stand up in any court. After I made it clear I have a legal background, I was then offered £100 via PayPal to take the review down. I refused. The irony of demanding a bank transfer, then offering me a PayPal bribe (which they know can be reversed) was not lost on me.

You have statutory rights. And regardless of payment method, your bank can refund you and pursue their bank for reimbursement.

Do some digging on Companies House. Look up Capital H Limited — you’ll see dormant accounts filed, meaning they legally shouldn’t even be trading.

Absolutely awful service. False advertising, hidden surcharges, appalling customer service (barely legible communication), zero accountability, took my money and ran with it. And to top that they either won't reply to your emails, or will reply with 2 or 3 words, and run a premium hotline service which charges you a high rate just to get in touch. Do not, I repeat do not use this company if you value your money. I had to go to trading standards but still lost the deposit I was duped into paying. This company just stopped replying once I called them out on their false advertising. I lost money but you don't have to, do not use!!!

Really disappointed. After leaving a review last week being completely honest and fair I was asked to remove it. I originally ordered an engine over 3 weeks ago with a 5 day delivery. All money paid up front over £2500. As other reviews state, 3engines do not supply the engine they have a network of engineers that take over. I guess it’s luck of the drawer how it goes from here. In my case, David from dcl engineering was very responsive to questions I had up to payment. As soon as I had made payment all I wanted to know was a delivery date so I could make plans for the work. These messages were completely ignored and the phone never gets answered. Apparently the engine is arriving tomorrow but again I have tried to find out an eta but again have been completely ignored. Customer service is non existent with dcl engineering, he even told me to stop emailing haha, if they are that busy I think they should invest in a secretary. It really is not a lot to ask to be kept informed, especially when you put complete trust in these people. 3engines have tried to contact David on my behalf but to me the simplest question of when is it arriving still hasn’t been answered. If you do buy from 3engines do not expect it delivered in the 3 or 5 day delivery options. It could be weeks like mine. I just hope that the engine does arrive and that David at dcl engineering is better at building engines than he is at customer service. I have given them every opportunity to resolve this.

Just want to update this review as this was nearly 2 months ago. The engine did arrive eventually. I had it installed by my mechanic but it turned out to be no good. The engine had no compression in 2 cylinders and sounded horrendous. This was a week before I needed the van for a summer holiday! David from dcl engineering responded quite well and this was the first time he actually spoke to me on the phone. He suspected that there was a bent cam shaft as he stated that the cam shaft didn’t get replaced. Even though I was under the impression that all internal parts were to be replaced. He sent down an engineer to replace the cam shaft and hopefully resolve the problem. This didn’t materialise as the engineer just stripped the engine apart and left that day. They then arranged to pick up the whole van about 10 days later to take back to their workshop to fix the problem. This was nearly 6 weeks ago and I still have no idea what is going on. I have had a few messages saying it will be ready by the end of this week but it never happens. I have just asked what is happening? What work is being done? Again communication is not good. They have also had my old engine now for over 2 months and they keep ignoring my requests for my surcharge refund to be paid. As it states on their invoice refund will be made as soon as they get the old unit. I don’t see any reason for this. I have had messages stating that he is going to close down his business because of stress from customers. I hope he doesn’t include me in the ones that are rude and have no sympathy because I state that I have been nothing but respectful during this whole situation. All I want is what I have paid for. I paid for the engine at the start of June (5months ago) I still have no idea what is going on. I don’t even have my van any more. I dread to think what I am going to receive if I get anything. I have emailed 3engines with an update but this went unanswered which has resulted in me contacting them via this platform. Any help would be very much appreciated.

I paid a deposit for an engine from 3ngines and have received neither the engine nor any updates. They ignore calls and messages, and have refused to refund my deposit. The customer service is appalling. I would strongly advise avoiding this company – completely unreliable.

Shocking service.
Waiting 4 weeks for an engine. 3engines get other companies to recondition the engines.. full money taken. No engine arrived.. 3engines have no department contact to get hold of. 3rd party that they employ dont pick up the phone or emails.
Just 1 big scam and us as a business have been left with an unhappy customer and over £3000 out of our pocket.

Great service from start to finish in sourcing me an engine. Nothing was too much trouble, communication was excellent and delivery was fast. Definitely recommend.

Absolutely great platform for all our vehicles needs. Being a used car sales dealership we need need engines for transit vans, alot of crafters and some BMW. Overall rate them 5 stars for fast online quotes and really well priced engines available via their platform of suppliers.
