Terrible business and customer service practices.

I have had several years' worth of dealings with Wedding Wire. I paid for a year of advertising with them, and had over 100 inquiries that way. But only one booking. (my normal booking percentage is above 50%, so this is a testament to the low quality leads).

Once you decide you will no longer pay, they think of every way they can hurt your business, including charging your card without your permission, silently changing user terms so that you are automatically renewed for another year of advertising without notifying you, and then charging 'overdue' fees if you change your credit card on file.

It also seems that once you stop paying them, they will delist or blacklist you and remove even the regular (free) services available to other nonpaying vendors.

Dealing with them is frustrating, and all the customer service staff are quick to blame you (the user) rather than politely inquiring about the issue. They also blatantly lied about their success (WW told me some really fantastic booking numbers that a local wedding vendor had had with them; I got in touch with said vendor, and they confirmed those numbers were a lie)

It's just a terrible experience overall, and it's a shame that they are otherwise a useful service to folks looking for wedding vendors, who do not know how vendors are treated.

I would never recommend them to any other wedding vendor.

TERRIBLE INVESTMENT EVER MADE!!!

we signed up with weddingwire.com about 10years ago before they moved us to weddingwire.ca.
We accumulated about 520 5 star reviews but they decided to kick us off their platform because we refuse to put in writing that we will perform same sex weddings.
We found this to be completely unethical trying to force people and businesses against their will.
I wouldn't recommend this to any business owner as your years of hardwork, money invested and reviews are not guaranteed even if you choose to stop doing business with them.
SCARY!!!

We got over 20 pages over communication to back this up to show how unprofessional they are.
Never even got a phone call even though we requested that several times...

There's this new site y'all can check out and it's free!!

Vendors Beware. Don't Waste Your Hard Earned Money On WeddingWire.ca

Please note that the Review I leave below is of my own humble opinion based on my time spent with WeddingWire.ca. As such...

Horrible horrible experience with WeddingWire.ca. If I could give them a lower Review I would but where do I start there is so many complaints.

1. Their Contract. Absolutely no way to discontinue a membership with this Company for the entire first year. And their Sales people WILL NOT BRING THIS TO YOUR ATTENTION. Their feeble excuse... they need/want to retain first time Customers for a year to gauge or measure their progress within their Platform. But if your not happy with your progress or the Customer Service experience with them and want to leave you cannot do so. We'll at least not w/o Legal Representation. I've never worked with an Advertiser who wouldn't let you leave with a minimal 'penalty' to break a Contract if you wish.

2. Quality of Leads. Or should I say lack of leads. So few, so slow and so unqualified. My Advertising Package covered most of Southern Ontario Canada. Ya that's a huge area with roughly 3.5 million people in the Toronto area alone. Yet in an entire Year I didn't even see more then a couple hundred leads. And when you do see a possible Lead they don't respond. Bots... maybe... possibly. WW leads just don't follow up. You might as call WW - GhostWire for how many times your gonna get ghosted!

3. Vendor Customer Care Experience. Their internal structure and/or organization is horrible. Not once during the course of my time with WW did I ever receive a sense of 'Hey We Value Your Membership With Us' email. Other reputable Advertisers that I've worked with such as Eventective.ca or EventSource.ca make it a routine habit of checking in with their Vendors from time to time to see how they are doing. Perhaps helping their Vendors better streamline their Advertising efforts to maximize their time with them. WW once they've got your money their gone until the next billing cycle comes around.

4. WW's Industry Reputation In Canada. Absolutely atrocious. One Vendor after another has emphatically stated that they wasted their hard earned money on this Company. And the funny part was I had once asked WW why does WW not have a Google Business Profile aka Google My Business Profile Listing. I was simply told they do not. Seriously in today's age... no GMB profile?? I imagine if they had one they would be so inundated with negative 1 Star Reviews that it would subtract their Team efforts from catfishing new, unaware Vendors into their Spiders Web of deceit.

In closing all Vendors either considering WW as a possible Advertising means pls. do your homework and ....RUN the other way. You work hard enough for your money. Don't waste it here!

Weddingwire.ca is 100% scam!!! BEWARE

Weddingwire.ca is 100% for the vendor and 0% about the customers!!! Weddingwire.ca is a scam!!!

Weddingwire.ca makes money charging vendors expensive fees to advertise on their website. Meaning they want the vendors to always look good so the vendors keep paying them!!!

Weddingwire.ca gives anyone who leaves a bad review a hassle and you literally have to jump through hoops to write a low rating review!!!

-BEWARE don't trust any positive reviews on weddingwire.ca and DON'T book any venues from the weddingwire.ca website!!!

-There's a reason why the positive reviews are lengthy and the negative reviews are ALWAYS short!!! See for yourself. Proof is in the pudding!!!

-weddingwire.ca won't let you say what you want to say in your own review. They have employees who refer to themselves as part of the "WeddingPro Reviews Team" whose job is to edit everything in your low rating review and chances are that everything you say in your low rating is apparently against a different policy of there's and has to be removed!!!

You also have to send insane proof that your a customer (a dozen pictures of yourself in the undisputed venue in a wedding dress getting married isn't sufficient for them!!!).

And weddingwire.ca requires proof of everything negative in order to write about it...like I'm sorry I didn't stop to take a picture of the thermostat in the venue showing they didn't turn on the AC for my wedding...like who has pics of everything negative???

Then weddingwire.ca will send you an email of your review with their edited revisions that you must make in order to post it! So you change it and they just delete it after awhile again because another team member wants to also edit it and deleted it so they can get rid of the low rating posting. Once you make the new changes, they find another reason to delete it over and over again!!! Like what a hassle.

-Customers beware weddingwire.ca is extremely shady!

-All I want to do is to tell other hard working people the truth about my experience with a venue I got married at (that I found on weddingwire.ca)...real simple but unbelievably hard to do on their website!

-weddingwire.ca is unethical!!!

I was married last year

I was married last year. Weddingwire.ca supplied Young Hip and Married to us. Young Hip and Married did a poor job. When I reviewed YHM WW.ca said I was not a client of YHM. I supplied a receipt for the payment ot YHM but WW.ca still deleted my review. They are a scam... both YHM and WW.ca
