Amazing!!
This company's VoIP service is amazing!!
I was with another VoIP provider for my first try for VoIP and it was awful. It took forever to ring through and call quality was horrid.
VoIP.ms is amazing!!! Rings right through!! Call quality is perfect!! And their support is great. They're willing to do anything they can to try to help you with anything you ask about their service and their never-ending patience is great.
PROS: Cost is very good, quality is amazing, service is spectacular
CONS: None. Nothing is as good as a real landline but as far as VoIP is concerned, this is very, very close!
Deceptive Sales Pitch, Demands Passport for Demo
Another review said they are paying people to post good reviews here. I believe that.
I spoke with sales who said I could test out the service using a special line that would let me hear the call quality - all I had to do was sign up for an account. After I signed up, they first said my account needed to be manually authorized. I chatted with support who said they would authorize the account. I then received an email demanding a copy of my passport. It was deceptive and manipulative to sell me on a quick easy sign up and demo when they knew they might be demanding passport copies later, which puts my personal information at risk just for a demo of their product. I have no problem providing authentication, but it's not okay to waste my time and manipulate me to try to get a sale. I emailed them expressing my dissatisfaction and asked them to delete any information they had about me and they refused to respond to my request. If you are concerned about data privacy or value your time, this is probably the wrong company for you.
Great coverage in US and worldwide
I moved to voip.ms from lingo for my house landline about 6 years ago. I never had a glitch. Just once a routing problem for one single cell number in Europe that was fixed in a day. Their customer support I experienced then was excellent: I communicated with an engineer that was very knowledgeable.
Overall the features available, like multiple lines, supporting Nomorobo, texting, voicemail transcription, are very rich and the company keeps adding new goodies!
I pay much less compared to Lingo and obviously a fraction of a regular residential/business landline.
Bad experience overall - pathetic customer service
I signed up for a new account because our business needs a phone number. Immediately after sign up, the account was put on hold and it was asking me to contact their customer service which I did. Hours later they replied and said that they cannot activate the service. I tried to appeal 3 times, offered to explain any discrepancies flagged by their system in the order but they made 0 effort and each time they simply said they cannot activate the account without any details. 0 empathy, 0 customer service.
Overall is good
Using voip.ms for 8+ years now. Overall good experience.
Good quality and decent customer support, useful web portal.
The only negative is that the company still doesn't have dedicated client app.
So if you plan to use their service on mobile phone you will have to use third party apps like zoiper, groundwire,...etc but those apps are not always reliable.
Could be better but it's OK so far
I had a few problems with VoIP.ms at first but it seems better now. I will update depending on how it goes.
On a side note, I appreciate the wikis and all the explanations on their website but I think they would benefit from making the UI simpler. It's not that bad but I think they are too many technical terms for the average joe to feel at ease.

No phone for 6 days
No phone for 6 days, no action plan. No service for all customers DDoS attack. I opened 3 tickets No answer! The communication is done by social network, i am not on social network. But Before the DDoS the service was excellent. I hope they will build a secure infrastructure.
Most reliable & dependable service
Most reliable & dependable service, lowest cost in the market. I have been using VOIP.ms for 10+ years.
Their customer Service & technical support is top notch.
Voip.Ms
I've been using Voip.ms for a few years now. Overall, I'm very pleased with this service. You have to realize that you are getting the full functionality of a VOIP call server with voice message, Integrated Voice Response (IVR) and a host of other features with this thing at a ridiculously low price. I typically put $50 on my account and it lasts for something like 8 or 10 months generally.
One feature I particularly like is "Ring Groups". This is a feature where you can have your number forked to other numbers. So when someone calls my main phone number (my 'land' line), my cell phone and my wife's cell phone will also ring (so that is 3 different phone numbers ringing simultaneously). This is a great feature.
Another good feature is the voice mail where not only can you have multiple mail boxes, you can have voice mails emailed to you and then you play them from there.
I think you will be hard pressed to find a feature that is not available with Voip.ms. It's truly feature-rich and VERY inexpensive. I did buy an ATA so that I could have my POTS telephones 'connected' to this service.
If I have any complaints or rather areas of improvement it would be these:
1. Setup is tricky especially for non-techies. This really relates in part to point number 2.
2. The user interface i.e. the web portal for Voip.ms could definitely use a 'do-over'. It looks very dated and isn't very easy to navigate in my opinion.
That said, as long as you can get everything configured alright, you'll be fine (if you get stuck, you can get chat support quickly and they are helpful).
Lost my phone number of 11+ years
I live in Germany and have acquired a German phone number from voip.ms 11 years ago. I have used this number all these years and it has been widely circulated and I relied on it.
A few days ago I received an email from voip.ms informing me that their carrier will only provide numbers to businesses in the future and if I wanted to keep it, I would have to submit my business incorporation paperwork as proof. Of course I am not a business, and voip.ms of course knows that since I was a long time customer. This email arrived 3 weeks before the cutoff of the DID. Landline number transfers for German numbers are expensive and time consuming.
So, since I am not a business, I ended up losing my phone number.
I am disappointed with the fact that this happened in the first place, but also that voip.ms did not offer any other alternatives or help to keep this number. There was no "Service" in the Customer Service I experienced. It continued that way when I had to argue with them over receiving a refund of my remaining account balance. I asked for the issue to be escalated to a manager - which did not happen.
This was an absolutely horrible experience, which cost me quite a bit of money and time to switch to a different phone number from a different provider within just a few days lead time and having to notify several dozen contacts.
I do not trust voip.ms any longer.
I love these guys
I love these guys. My bank absolutely *refused* to call "the right person" for VISA card compromises and VOIP.ms allowed me create a virtual number to give to the bank so that *both* of our phones would ring and the bank's stupid fraud department can contact the correct person.
Reliable, affordable, and fits perfectly with what I wanted and needed. :)
Highly Recommended.
I'm IT corporate systems management professional of 26 years. I deal routinely with service providers. VOIP.MS is one of the best. The service is outstanding. The pricing is reasonable. And the feature set is truly exceptional. Highly recommended.

Paying people for reviews
Do not listen to the flood of positive reviews here!
VoIP.ms sent out an email not too long ago saying that the first few people who were to give a positive review would get $20. Even after that short contest ended, the positive reviews keep flooding in from people who hope to get money from VoIP.ms! DO NOT LISTEN TO THESE REVIEWS. THESE REVIEWS ARE ALL WRITTEN BY PEOPLE WHO WANT TO/HAVE BEEN PAID.
