£53 for a prescription

I’ve just been to Minster Vets - part of VetPartners - to buy worming and tick treatment for my dog. They originally presented me with a bill of £118 for the 2 tablets. That included £40 for a check up my dog did not need but which they insisted upon before they would prescribe. When I picked myself off the floor and asked for a written prescription instead, the bill came to £93. So they charged £53 for a prescription. Unbelievable. Absolute usury.

MISDIAGNOSED But still wanted MORE MONEY!

I used Paddons PE140DF As one of my cats had an accident! £500 later my cat was MISDIAGNOSED !as I contacted a referral vet to get a QUOTE to repair a FRACTURED pelvis. Grove vets said " FREE to view xrays for a Quote"! Grove Vets said " NO FRACTURE"! I have now received a Bill from PADDONS asking for £93.24 for sending MY xrays I paid £500 for! It was agreed from BOTH sides there was NO CHARGE! I would like to know WHAT is this charge for?? I am DISGUSTED with corporate VETS as MANY animals MUST be SUFFERING due to your OUTRAGEOUS prices for MISDIAGNOSING & obviously general things the average pet owner can NOT afford! Especially when your turnover is in EXCESS of £36MILLION! I sent emails DIRECT to vetpartners and so far been totally IGNORED!! Still do NOT know what is wrong with My Cat! Will have to go to a REAL VET!

Banished After 25 Years of being a very Loyal (& Lucrative) Client

After 25 years of being a very regular and happy client with one of Vetpartners practices, Littlecroft, Little Sutton, 20 years of which was before it was taken over and when it was a very well renowned independent vets, I was given two week's notice to transfer to another vets! They had treated my 8 dogs and 10 cats - all of which were insured, and their fees for which came to well over £100+K over the years, with all accounts settled promptly and none of which were queried. Throughout the many years I was a client I had always received first rate treatment by their team of vets, nurses and reception staff, and believed I was equally well thought of by them. Unfortunately the Clinical Director, who was appointed when Littlecroft was taken over by Vetpartners, seems to have "issues". He apparently cannot accept criticism. I had completed a satisfaction questionnaire he sent out, marking all areas - vets, nurses, reception staff, facilities etc with 5 Stars (me and my numerous pets always had excellent treatment from them all, with the exception of the clinical director on whom I didn't comment). The questionnaire also asked for any further comments and I expressed my concern, and that of many other pet owners, at the very high, and ever increasing charges now being charged by Private Equity owned veterinary practices (not just Vetpartners). He didn't like this one bit and probably should not have asked for further comments if he wasn't prepared for the answer. In response he gave me two weeks notice to move my pets to another vets, saying he "had a duty to protect his staff's mental health and well-being", I would have thought all the staff would have been delighted by the 5 stars I awarded them all. He also referred back to an occasion, many months previously, when I had commented on the long delays, sometimes of several months, in receiving up to date invoices/statements, and not just by me but by other clients also, and suggested perhaps he should do a review of the client statements to confirm the long delays in them being issued to clients. I was later advised that he had told the practice manager I had accused her of stealing!!! I was actually querying the professional ineptitude (adversely affecting both clients and Vetpartners) of the very lengthy delays in sending out clients' invoices/statements. So my experience of Vetpartners has been deplorable, and very sad, all due to one self-important, perfidious, upstart of a clinical director who has such delusions of grandeur that he cannot take constructive criticism. I'm sure I won't be the only client he treats so badly. This vile, ignoble little man brings shame on his profession and on Vetpartners.

Avoid any Vetpartners clinics

Used a Vetpartners clinic, Maesglas vets, Brackla, they charge extortionate amounts for treatments, not a care for people needing to make snap decisions and need to find money, vile money greedy company killing animals that could be saved.

Pushed towards expensive options

Very very high charges for medication charging sometimes over 4 times the amount you can buy it on line.
If want a prescription then they charge £20 for this but still normally a lot cheaper than buying the drugs from the surgery

Taken over local vets who are great and…

Taken over local vets who are great and have apparently instructed them not to set up payment plans or do any work through insurance claims, as was previously the case. All work must be paid in full in "cash" which just seems ridiculous with how high some vet bills can get. They have made it so only people with tremendous amounts of disposable income can responsibly own pets, those without the thousands required to cover any potential expense would have to plunge themselves into crippling debt even if they have insurance to cover costs initially. People would be best avoiding this company and its practices even despite the fact I am sure a number of their practices are filled with great people who want to help you and your pets.

Absolutely awful experience with one of…

Absolutely awful experience with one of their practices. I took my cat in for some tooth extractions and in the end I had to take him to a different practice as this clinic had completely failed to help and just made things worse.

On top of this I was receiving multiple, unwanted, phone calls from the clinical director no less, call me a "big man", as if he was trying to goad me into a fight or something? Despite me hanging up on him twice he continued to call, he is now blocked on my phone.

I am absolutely astounded by the complete absence of professionalism of Dr Currid and cannot think of a single charitable explanation for his actions. You shouldn't have to block the clinical director of a vets practice.

Shockingly bad veterinary care. An inexplicable level of unprofessionalism. Avoid any of these practices if this is what to expect.
