We cannot recommend UPakWeShip--dishonest and poor communication
We cannot recommend UPakWeShip, which has dishonest practices and very poor communication. We shipped our household belongings from the USA to Europe. Our original plan was to relocate to northern Spain. Due to unexpected circumstances, we relocated to the Netherlands. All this occurred and was communicated with UPakWeShip before our belongings cleared customs in Antwerp, Belgium, in February 2026. We had always planned to have UPakWeShip store our belongings in Antwerp until we had a permanent address. This was arranged and we provided an address and date (a few months in the future) for delivery to the Netherlands. We began inquiries in March 2026 about an adjustment to the delivery charge we had paid for delivery to Spain as this was 1650 km further than the travel for the actual delivery to the Netherlands. We received no reply and sent additional communications to all our UPakWeShip contacts. Again we had no response. Shortly before our crates were delivered to our new home in the Netherlands, we received our bill for storage, which we paid immediately to receive our belongings. Our crates were delivered. We continued to reach out to UPakWeShip regarding an adjustment for delivery. We received a response on June 1, 2026, from UPakWeShip asking for our bank transfer info to which our refund could be sent; we emailed this information immediately. We have heard nothing further in the subsequent 4 months despite a final email follow-up from us in which we indicated we would begin to pursue the matter through the legal system if we did not receive communications from them by October 1, 2026. We have an extensive network of expats and soon-to-be expats with whom we are sharing widely our very negative experience with UPakWeShip. We highly recommend avoiding doing business with this company that does not respond in a timely manner to correspondence from active clients and which appears to have no issue with overcharging its clients.
They say they have up front prices but...
They say they have up front prices and no hidden fees but we moved from Portugal to the USA this past March 2026 with a Ucrate delivery date of April 2026. Or crate made it to the USA and they found a bug in the conex box of 15 pallets and had to send it back to the EU to be fumigated. And then returned to the USA. It's September 25th and we still haven't seen our pallet and were told we have to pay $1419.80 before getting our pallet! We moved here with just a suitcase so we have had to buy so much stuff that is on that pallet like summer clothes, formal wear for a wedding, bedding and linens. They said our insurance we bought doesn't cover this. So we paid. Then we found an email in spam for a bill for just under $400 for fumigation! What next? It feels like our stuff is being held hostage. Think twice before using their services.
Only hire if you're okay with tracking status: Missing
"Do you know where your crate is, because we don't," is a call I never hope to receive again.
UPakWeShip apparently pays for the absolute cheapest subcontractors they can in Europe. I just read someone waited 13 weeks, which is crazy. I can tell you why: our items sat loaded on a truck in "out for delivery" status for 2 weeks. It was sitting an hour or so away, we could have rented a truck and picked it up, but we couldn't. After two days we reached out to UPakWeShip and they provided 0 help, just shrugged their proverbial shoulders and said, we have your money, what are you going to do about it?
Successful Transatlantic Move
We used UPak WeShip for our recent move from California to Germany. We had an excellent experience with their staff, from quoting and answering our many questions, to their communication throughout the shipping process. They were always very friendly and helpful. Overall, the process took a little over 13 weeks, which was longer than the original estimate, but I don't fault the company for this -- we were prepared to wait and I think that's just the way it goes with international shipment. They offered us the lowest price for a relatively small shipment, and we would use them again.
Before booking with UPakWeShip
Before booking with UPakWeShip, customers should understand exactly what happened in our experience.
We purchased a $7,837 service described as “All Inclusive 20ft Door to Door” for an international household move from the United States to Spain. We provided UPakWeShip with our exact residential delivery address before the container was loaded and before the final payment was accepted.
We reasonably expected the amount quoted and paid to cover the shipment through delivery to our residence. UPakWeShip’s own booking record connected our exact Spanish address, the 20-foot container, “Door To Door” routing, and our payment within the same transaction record.
Before the shipment, UPakWeShip did not provide us with:
• Specific delivery-vehicle dimensions
• An access checklist
• Defined street or parking requirements
• A request that we certify the address as accessible
• A warning that access had not been confirmed
• An estimate of the additional amount we might have to pay if their planned delivery method could not be used
Only after our belongings were already committed to international transit and outside our control were we told that the original container truck could not park in front of our house.
At that point, we had no meaningful practical ability to reject the arrangement or choose another mover. To obtain delivery of our belongings, we had to enter into a separate agreement with UPakWeShip’s designated destination agent, Mudinmar.
Mudinmar required an additional €1,633.50 for:
• Warehouse handling and movement
• Shuttle service
• Street-level residential delivery
• VAT
The payment cost us $1,866.81 through Wise. These were not charges for unpacking, furniture assembly, or an optional premium delivery upgrade. They were the destination services necessary to get our belongings delivered to our residence.
We paid because our belongings were already overseas and the separate payment was required for delivery to proceed.
We repeatedly asked UPakWeShip to reimburse the additional destination-delivery expense or credit us for the portion of the prepaid door-to-door service that was not completed at the original price. UPakWeShip denied reimbursement in writing and relied on contractual language excluding difficult-access charges.
Our concern is not that the container never crossed the ocean. Our concern is that the complete door-to-door service was not provided at the price we were quoted and paid. A substantial additional expense was imposed only after our belongings were already in transit.
If you are considering UPakWeShip, obtain written confirmation of the exact delivery vehicle, parking and street-access requirements, whether your address has been reviewed and approved, every destination service included in the price, and what you could be required to pay if their planned vehicle cannot complete delivery.
Do not assume that “door to door” or “all inclusive” necessarily means your belongings will reach your residence for the original quoted price. Based on our documented experience and UPakWeShip’s refusal to reimburse the additional delivery expense, we cannot recommend this company.
I am sharing my experience so others…
I am sharing my experience so others can make an informed decision before choosing this company for an international move.
I hired this company to ship my personal belongings from the United States to Portugal. Unfortunately, the shipment arrived in a condition that was very concerning. Every box had been opened, none were sealed with tape, the pallet and securing straps were missing, and one box appeared to have been extensively disturbed, with tears on multiple sides. During delivery, items were falling out of the truck. The delivery man handed me my tool box that was wrapped and neatly packed in a larger box.He said "oh here's your tool box."
Many tools missing. I shipped 11 boxes and only received 10.
As I unpacked over the following days, I discovered that numerous personal belongings were missing from multiple boxes. These were personal items that I had carefully packed before shipment.
I reported the missing property immediately and have continued to cooperate with the company's investigation. At the time of writing, I am still seeking a satisfactory explanation and resolution.
My advice to anyone considering this company is to photograph every item and every box before shipping, keep a detailed inventory, and purchase cargo insurance if available. I also recommend inspecting your shipment thoroughly upon delivery before signing any paperwork.
This review reflects my personal experience with this shipment. I hope it encourages the company to improve its handling of customers' belongings and helps others make an informed decision.
Would not recommend
If you are considering this company—don't. I cannot recommend them based on my recent experience moving from the USA to France.
UPakWeShip advertises itself as "an affordable and stress-free way to move overseas." Unfortunately, my experience was anything but.
Here's why:
UPakWeShip's pricing was inconsistent from the very beginning. I was initially quoted nearly double the price for the exact same 20-foot container shipment. Even after we agreed on a price, we were misquoted a second time before the company finally honored the original quote.
To be fair, the booking process, confirmation, tracking, customs clearance, and overseas shipment all went smoothly.
We followed every delivery instruction provided. We hired a professional moving crew, coordinated with the storage facility, confirmed truck access, and ensured everything was ready within the required two-hour unloading window.
ERS confirmed the wrong delivery date by email. We arrived exactly as instructed with our moving crew ready to unload the container. The truck never arrived.
Our storage manager had to contact ERS after the shipment failed to arrive. Only then did ERS realize they had confirmed the wrong delivery date, yet they still never contacted either my mother or me directly.
When I reached out the following day, ERS admitted the communication error but never apologized. Instead, they repeatedly described it as a simple typo and maintained that a €300 refund was fair compensation.
Throughout the entire aftermath, UPak's responses were consistently dismissive. Rather than acknowledging the impact of their admitted communication error, they repeatedly focused on defending why their proposed resolution should be considered "more than fair."
I have since received invoices documenting that my additional out-of-pocket expenses alone exceeded the refund being offered for the Mover's fees on the missed shipment date plus the days we paid for 3 storage units that sat empty for 6 days.
If this is how UPakWeShip handles an admitted communication error, I have little confidence in how they would handle a more serious issue.
They are a scam
Extremely poor experience. I booked a container move, but instead was delivered U-Crates that could not accommodate my belongings.
I had already removed my items from storage to prepare for loading, and because of the incorrect delivery, I was unable to proceed and some of my belongings were damaged by rain.
The company then tried to change the terms of the service instead of honoring the original agreement. After I cancelled and requested a refund, they stopped responding completely. The phone number provided for management does not work.
I would strongly advise others to be cautious.
They have had my containers for over 4…
They have had my containers for over 4 months and provided me with over 3 delivery dates. All 3 delivery dates have been missed and no one has contacted me. Company should be shut down immediately.
Fastest possible shipment is 4.6 months
It took 140 days—the fastest turnaround they could possibly provide—from the day we placed the order until the crate arrived. Due to an error on their part, our shipment didn’t arrive in time for us to pack, forcing us to delay our move to the UK. Initially, they promised to prioritize our order by moving us to the "front of the line." Despite this, it still took nearly five months, providing no real benefit. We requested compensation for the additional week of rent we had to pay at our U.S. residence due to the delay (we didn’t ask for reimbursement for the unused rent at our UK apartment or for our flight change fees), they countered with half of our request ($250) and we'd have to sign a NDA.
If you hire them, the fastest turnaround they can offer is 140 days (4.6 months) and they cannot offer customer service. Full detailed timeline below.
Shipment Timeline
Day 0 – Kit order placed. We were told it would ship on Day 4 due to a short weather delay and arrive for packing by Day 15 or 16.
Day 14 – We reach out to check tracking/status.
Day 15 – Told the kit had been shipped the previous week, but no tracking could be provided. We confirmed with the trucking company that nothing had been sent. Crate was actually shipped on Day 14. We were forced to delay our international departure and requested compensation.
Day 21 – Crate arrives.
Day 23 – We pack and send off the crate.
Day 35 – Crate arrives at port in South Carolina. Full payment is required before overseas shipping. We request a reduced rate; it is denied. As a compromise, we’re told the crate will be moved to the “front of the line.”
Day 62 – Crate departs South Carolina. Estimated UK arrival: Day 94.
Day 96 – Crate delayed. New estimated arrival: Day 124.
Day 131 – Crate arrives in the UK, 96 days after leaving South Carolina.
Day 136 – Crate clears customs. We reach out to schedule delivery, hear nothing for a few days.
Day 139 – Informed our crate will be delivered the next day.
Day 140 – Crate delivered. Delivery team was excellent. A few minor damages: one broken glass and some picture frames.
Very satisfied customer moved from USA-Germany
We had zero complaints in the process. The only thing was that not okay was the pickup guy was really young and nearly dropped the pallet on its side before even loading it. But the price was good and everything was delivered as promised to our front door in Germany. Easy peasy! Will use again when we move back to the US.
Terrible customer service if I can even call it that
I contacted Euromovers recently to request a quote. The UK contact based in Spain answered the phone with food in his mouth. When he detected my accent, he asked why I didn't want to return to my country of origin with a certain "president" wandering around. He then asked me why I wanted to leave the country I reside in. Completely inappropriate comments, very insulting. It has been over four days and he still has not been able to give me a quote despite detailed information I have given him to do so. No response or indication of when I might receive a quote.
Highly inappropriate responses and unprofessional "service" if you can even call it that. I feel treated very poorly and will warn others to avoid your company.
Look somewhere else.
I moved from Amsterdam to the US (Florida). While the sales people who are selling you the service seem professional at first, once you pay (they demand in full prepayment) and you are passed to operations, everything goes downhill. No updates during the entire shipment, many mistakes in communications, and I had broken items and bugs in my bed it was disgusting. Work with someone else especially not their Netherlands/UK operations.
My wife and I used U-Pack to send 2…
My wife and I used U-Pack to send 2 U-100 crates from Washington state to Portugal. Every step of the way was dealt with professional personnel and pickup and delivery when they said they were supposed to be. We would recommend the company to anyone shipping abroad.
A few hiccups but satisfied overall
Moved from Miami to Madrid on June 1, 2023.
Had a bit of a rough start (which was partly my fault but mostly due to incorrect/obsolete/contradictory instructions) but Alicia Hawk from uPak was very helpful and understanding and made it right.
My crate arrived at the destination in perfect condition and with no further costs, paperwork, or any further involvement on my part (though a bit later than promised at 8 weeks.)
All in all, I am quite satisfied and would definitely consider using them again in the future.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU WANT…
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU WANT YOUR SHIPMENT TO ARRIVE ON TIME AND IN GOOD CONDITION!
My wife and I moved to Canada from Sweden and used UPakWeShip EU to send a crate of our home goods to Canada. Originally we were promised a 6-8 week delivery time (after they had already sent us the pallet for packing everything late) in reality it took over 6 months to receive after being delayed at the dock in Europe with no explanation on why our shipment has not left on the dates or boat they had first told us it would be on. Unless we repeatedly sent emails asking for update there was no communication on their end. Just us hoping our stuff would arrive one day.
Finally, on the day the shipment did arrive it was given to us in pieces rather than the pallet we had originally packed it in. Again no explanation for who had taken our stuff out of the pallet or even letting us know our stuff would be delivered this way.
This company has been terrible to work with causing us months of headaches and providing little to no communication or updates to their customers.
For the money you will be spending with them you really think they would do a better job of first knowing where your stuff is and secondly providing actual service to their customers. Do yourself and your shipment a favour and use another company.
We booked their Ucrate 50 from Sweden…
We booked their Ucrate 50 from Sweden to North Carolina, it took 9 weeks from door to door and everything was in great condition when it arrived, communication was as it should be and i was infomed of the collection and delivery dates in advance
Terrible Customer Service and Communication
They shipped our products from Europe back to the US and it took over 9 months! They said it was due to a global situation they had no control over but their communication was terrible and they offered no compensation for being without our goods for 9 months. We had to buy replacements for many of our thing. Some delay is understandable, but 9 months for what should be a 30 day transit time?
You have zero protection or recourse with this company, they just blamed 'acts of god' and nothing they could do. I would have been OK if they communicated better or did anything to help make the experience better, but they did not. I would be wary of working with UPAKWeShip if you need what you're shipping in a reasonable amount of time and with any certainty.
Very Slow and Poor Communication
My U-Crate100 was picked up on May 23, 2022 in the UK. On the day it was being picked up Upakweship arranged for a truck that was not big enough to collect the crate. I then had to make several calls and bring this to their attention and finally the appropriate truck was sent to pick it up (with a lift).
After the crate was collected it sat in the UK for almost 3 months until the end of August, 2022. I was never able to speak to a human being and only had an email contact for the company. Each time I inquired I received an email with an excuse (ship was too full to take my container, ship was delayed, etc.). If I had not emailed I don't think they would have ever updated me.
Once my crate was on a ship I requested and received the tracking number for my crate. It travelled from the UK to a port in SC and arrived in less than 2 weeks.
Once my crate arrived in SC the tracking number showed that it was being sent to a hub in my state (FL). The crate arrived at a trucking hub in FL and I was never contacted. I ultimately called the trucking company and eventually obtained a telephone number for the 3rd party truck delivery service. After several more calls I was able to arrange a delivery date and the crate arrived on September 15th.
I realize that there are ongoing shipping delays due to supply chain disruptions after Covid but there is no excuse for the terrible communication throughout this process. I think I would still be waiting on my crate had I not emailed regularly and called multiple times to arrange the actual delivery through the 3rd party company in FL.
Throughout this process I only received updates when I requested information. I think Upakweship could do a better job of updating customers about delays and the status of their shipment.
I think the cost was affordable at just under £2000 including insurance for a crate with 700 pounds of my belongings. The crate arrived in excellent condition and none of my items were damaged so that's a positive too. Waiting almost 4 months for delivery is extremely slow in spite of post-Covid shipping problems.
Would I use them again? Maybe-based on cost and the fact that my items arrived without damage. Just beware that this is truly a DIY shipping option. You will need to monitor every step of the process yourself because Upakweship leaves you in the dark with no communication after they collect your crate.
Terrible service
Terrible service, it’s taken twice as long to get to UK as they said it would and was then delivered to completely the wrong address and wrong person. No idea when or if I am going to get our crate. Do not use this company. People on the phone have no idea who is delivering it so they have no control or idea what is going on.
