AVOID AVOID I bought tourist esim…

AVOID AVOID I bought tourist esim package online in UK before travelling as advised. The authothencation did not work even though I tried many many times. But no problem as I was assured just visit any one of the turkcell stores and they will sort it out for no extra cost. Well I visited three stores and not one, store, would help. They all wanted to sell me the same product for a much higher price, no help at all. I ran turkcell customer service and only choice was to cancel purchase and get a refund. I was then left with nothing. Never never again will I trust turkcell and all their advertising. So bad for such a large company.

Total rip off

Total rip off! I went to the Turkcell in Besiktas, Istanbul to purchase an international eSIM for my 2 weeks stay in Istanbul. The staff did all initial steps but at the last step they were not able to activate the card on my ATT - USA phone, but they forced me to pay 1400 Turkish Lira even they know that it is not going to work on my phone! So Turkcell (somehow Istanbul herself) owes me this! Which I can let it go as I love Istanbul, but I do believe this particular Turkcell shop (the manager specifically) were the worst’s ambassador for Istanbul!

I signed up for Superonline VDSL on 15…

I signed up for Superonline VDSL on 15 November 2025, thinking I’d finally get fast internet. Big mistake. At first, my address supposedly supported 50 Mbps. The next day? Suddenly, no infrastructure. After calling, some “etiketleme” happened (no clue what that is), and things sort of moved forward.Installation day: I asked for 20 November, took the day off work. Rep said “anytime during working hours.” By 3 PM, still no one. Called again. Nothing. 6 PM rolls around, still nada. Only one helpful person (Ms. Afra) actually cared; everyone else kept saying, “They’ll come.” Hilarious if it weren’t so frustrating. So here I am:No internet installedA wasted day offExpert-level mismanagementPaying for service that doesn’t exist? Truly next-level. If you enjoy sitting around staring at walls, Superonline is perfect. Otherwise… maybe skip it unless you like absurd comedy disguised as customer service.

I appliedUnresolved Installation, Mismanagement, and Severe Customer Inconvenience – Request for Immediate Action and Compensation for a Superonline VDSL…

I applied for a Superonline VDSL subscription on 15 November 2025. During the address check, I was informed that my location supported 50 Mbps. The next day, noticing no progress on my application, I ran another infrastructure check — this time it showed no available infrastructure. I contacted the call center, after which Türk Telekom performed an “etiketleme” process, and the application appeared to move forward.

On 19 November 2025, I received a call to schedule the installation. I clearly stated that I would not be home that day due to work and asked for an appointment on 20 November 2025, for which I would take a day off. The representative told me they could not provide an exact time and that the team would arrive anytime during working hours. Relying on this, I took leave from work and stayed home the entire day.

By 3 PM, no one had arrived. I called the call center and explained everything in detail. I was told an urgency record would be created — yet no one contacted me. As business hours were close to ending, I called again around 6 PM. This time I was told to call the local dealer directly. The dealer stated that all representatives were busy with other customers and that I could only leave a callback request. Despite multiple attempts, no one provided any real solution. Apart from one person (Ms. Afra), the staff I spoke to were either dismissive or uninterested, repeatedly saying only “they will come,” without any proper follow-up.

What stands out most is a clear pattern of indifference, lack of discipline, and complete disregard for customer time and trust. The brand seems comfortable demanding payment for services that are not even being provided. My experience has been so disappointing that I am considering not only cancelling my pending installation but also terminating my two existing Turkcell mobile lines.

At this point:

My internet installation has still not been carried out.

I suffered financial loss due to taking a day off from work unnecessarily.

I experienced significant inconvenience caused directly by misinformation, lack of communication, and unprofessional handling by your staff.

Superonline (1000 Mbps Plan) – What a Joke

Subscribed to Superonline's so-called 1000 Mbps package, and guess what? I'm barely scraping 20 Mbps on a good day. This isn’t just false advertising — it’s a scam. Their service is beyond pathetic, and customer support is completely useless. No fixes, no accountability, just excuses.

I’ve never experienced such a disgraceful level of internet service. It’s like paying for a Ferrari and getting a rusty bicycle. Avoid this company like the plague. I wouldn’t wish this garbage connection on my worst enemy.

Crooks - don’t use Turkcell at airports

Crooks!

Turkcell in the departure terminal of Istanbul Airport robbed me of several thousand TL.

I arrived internationally from Kuala Lumpur, and before boarding my connection to Dalaman, I enquired after data packages available at the Turkcell. Since I am staying for five weeks, I wanted to ensure I would have enough data for the duration.

The person attending gave me a photocopied sheet of paper which I had no reason to doubt was authentic, on which was detailed a package of 180G plus a sim card for TL3800.

Upon running out of data two weeks later, I went in to the Turkcell in Erasta in Fethye who informed me that what I had a actually been given was not 180G, but 30G.

In addition, after logging in to the Turkcell Webpage to log this complaint, I see that the sim isn’t even registered to me, but to somebody named Rustam Kakharov – I do not know who that is.

Bad support in stores and online. Everything is designed to get your money and not help the customer

The stores dont help you, cant help you. Everything needs to be done with calling, the phone line is not good, only a bot and very difficult to get someone real on the phone. And when you get someone after a long time, they dont helo you good. Everything is designed to sell and not to help the customer. Cancelling is made very difficult on purpose. DONT GET A SIM HERE!!!

Turkcell Representative charged us 10 time more!

We entered the Airport in Antalya in the evening after a 17-hour flight from the United States and went to Tuekcell Kiosk to obtain a SIM card! We saw the kiosk for Turkcell, walked up to it, and asked about a SIM card! The man behind the counter showed us a laminated page with two options: 1. To buy a limited sim card and 2. to buy an unlimited sim card!
We had no idea what it would cost, but we were still surprised when the man said 8,000 Turkish Lira. We had no choice but to pay for it and leave the Airport!
Later, we discovered that we had been victims of fraud. The Turkcell Representative had overcharged us and kept the cash!
The SIM card did not work, so we were forced to go to the Turkcell Store. There, we discovered we had paid ten times the Price!
The people in the Turkcell store called the branch at the Airport, and they sent us a fake receipt! WOW

Fiber internet and cellular

We have been using Turkcell services as a family for more than 5 years, it was decent but currently, they have the monopoly of the market of internet and cellular, or they think they do. So, they dont care about their users, no matter how old, prices are expensive but services do not reflect it. Phone internet is really expensive with no benefits, it is not in EU standards, not even eastern Europe standard. And the Internet, even if you pay for high speed connections, your internet will be slowed down, and you wont get %100 of what you are paying for, especially for the foreign websites. It does not allow VPN usage, DNS changes or similar things, Use a diffrent provider

Internet packages in turkiye not lasting

I’ve been in Turkey for a while now, and I got a Turkish SIM card to use while I’m here. I’ve been purchasing 20GB data packages, but they only last me about 3-6 days. (Used on Mainly WhatsApp, instagram) Back in the UK, I use about 10GB MONTHLY , but here, I’ve already had to buy 3x 20GB= 60GB packages, and they’re almost gone too. It feels like the data is either measured differently, or there might be some tricky methods being used to charge customers. I really wish my EU data plan covered Turkey so I could rely on that. The company isn’t giving me any reassurance about the situation. I don’t recomended Turkcell

Very bad customer service both shops…

Very bad customer service both shops and call centre. I bought super box go and a new SIM card totaling €137 roughly. Then went home and had a problem so I called the customer service and they said they didn’t register the correct service to my SIM card and he transferred me to another department which asked some verification questions that didn’t make sense and suddenly her screen was broken and she repeated same excuses 10 times and told me to go to the shop where I bought it so they can register. Mind you the shop told me to call customer service if there’s any issues. It was 20 minute long she’s repeating the same thing. I’m bilingual and I couldn’t understand what she was asking I wonder how tourist gets any help. It’ll be my last time supporting Turkcell. My box is working it was a battery problem and I don’t know why he said that I have the wrong package and then she couldn’t simply check anything. If your system is down then say it in the beginning before putting us through hell with the vicious circle answers.

I am in North Cyprus

I am in North Cyprus, and Originally contracted for 20GB, but after installation only 10 GB was achieved, I put up with it for 4 months then decided to lower the contract to the 10GB plan as I was paying for something I wasn't getting, when the plan was reset to 10 GB after a few days it slowed down to 5 GB, after numerous calls and being told to swap lan cable ports, and switch off and switch on the router, and running the ookla speed test it worked for a couple of days, but then went back down to 5GB again. They refused to send out an engineer to investigate the problem, They haven't fulfilled the terms of the contract so I will be terminating it.

Quite expensive and not good enough…

Quite expensive and not good enough service.

If you are in a building, with slightly thick walls (non american), your call is bound to be interrupted.
On my way to work, on certain parts of the road, the music stops, as the signal is not strong enough. The road I mention is one of the intercity highways.

so many fees.

Beware of the Turkcell data plan you get!

As a travel from The Netherlands planning to visit Türkiye I researched which Turkish SIM card to buy upon arrival. I concluded the best option would be Turkcell, based on what I read online.
Upon arrival in Antalya International Airport, I bought a Turkcell SIM card with a 60 Gbyte data plan at the local booth just after customs. The person told me that the data plan would be active after 30 minutes.
Of course, I had left the airport by then, only to find out that he enabled the 20 Gbyte data plan for me.
No way I could reach back out to the guy. And sending an e-mail to Turkcell when back in The Netherlands, only got me a note back that I have to call a Turkish number (which will cost me an arm and a leg).
So, beware of the Turkcell data plan you get, when buying their SIM card upon arrival from abroad. I do feel scammed and will never do this again.
