Phoenix max waste of money.

I asked a simple, direct question: does the Phoenix Max support DDA Topix Cloud? They said yes, in writing. So I spent hours installing software, configuring drivers, and troubleshooting only for it to completely fail.
After going back and forth, they finally admitted it’s not possible at all with my device. Then, to top it off, they had the audacity to ask me “where did you see that Phoenix Max supports DDA Topix Cloud?” I pointed them back to their own email. Their first reply. Word for word.
No accountability. No explanation. Just another copy-paste apology and a recommendation to go buy yet another device their RLink X7/Lite.
This is not a support team. This is a team that guesses, gives you wrong answers with confidence, wastes your professional time, and then gaslights you about it. For anyone using these tools in a professional workshop environment, this kind of misinformation is not just frustrating — it’s unacceptable.
Avoid relying on their support for any critical diagnostic work. They clearly don’t know their own products, and you’ll pay the price for their ignorance. No accountability. No apology that means anything. Just a suggestion to go buy yet another device on top of the $4500 I already spent.

Topdon AD500 it's awful.

Topdon AD500 it's Not a plug in and play, you have to login through wi-fi or none of the apps work, then there's to many bugs being fixed as it's forever updating, if it's not updating it doesn't recognise your password so you have to try and reset it on the screen keyboard that's tiny for a man's fingers, all this before you connect to the obd. Looks good on the advert but to many bugs and updates, one to avoid.

Hi there, thanks for sharing your honest feedback and we’re really sorry to hear that your experience with the AD500 hasn’t been a smooth one.

We understand how frustrating it can be to deal with updates and setup steps when you just want to get straight to diagnosing a vehicle. To clarify, all of our tablet-based devices do require a Wi-Fi connection, as they need to connect to our servers for account login, software access, and vehicle coverage verification.

Regarding updates, we completely understand your concerns. Based on feedback like yours, we’ve been working on optimizations, and some updates are now optional rather than mandatory. Our goal is to reduce interruptions and make the overall experience more comfortable and efficient.

We truly appreciate your suggestions which help us improve. If you’re open to it, our technical support team would be more than happy to assist with any remaining issues or setup concerns. Please feel free to contact us anytime at support@topdon.com, and we’ll do our best to help.

Bought a 500

Bought a 500, cannot get past the login, no matter what I try, always comes up with "network error", wouldn't have bought it had I realised it relied on wi fi.

Hey there, really sorry to hear about the frustration. We can totally understand how disappointing that must be.

Just to clarify, our tablet-based diagnostic tools do require a Wi-Fi connection for login and activation. If your current Wi-Fi network is causing issues, could you please try connecting the device to your personal mobile hotspot and see if that helps?

If the problem continues, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team at support@topdon.com
with a few details about your device and network. Our technical support will be happy to help you get this sorted as quickly as possible.

We’re here if you need anything else 👍

I purchased higher end topdon Bluetooth…

I purchased higher end topdon Bluetooth scanner for diagnostic it seemed to work ok . On the 5th day of owning it the Bluetooth stopped functioning and the tablet stopped functioning. Very surprising for an 1800.00 scanner I contacted the supplier on eBay and they did refund my purchase price and stated this seems to be common with this scanner. Very disappointed

A big disappointment, as I expected more from a device that cost more than a cheaper one.

I ordered the Phoenix Plus 2 device from the eu.topdon website on November 30, 2024, but the experience was very disappointing. There were issues with the delivery from the beginning. The package did not arrive on time, and the customer service was rude and unhelpful. After multiple contacts, I found out that they had sent the package to the wrong country. Eventually, I received the replacement shipment on January 8, 2025, over a month later.

Although the device has more features than cheaper testers, using those features was not smooth. Often, when I tried to use certain functions, the device displayed the message "Not supported on this vehicle." This was very disappointing because I expected the device to be versatile and functional. Additionally, the device's performance was poor: it occasionally froze during real-time data monitoring. There were also issues with incorrect data. For instance, the charging voltage initially showed 12.3 V, which made me think the car wasn’t charging the battery. However, after restarting the device, it showed the correct value of 14.5 V. Such unreliability makes the device unsuitable for professional use.

The customer service did not leave a good impression. The responses were short and unfriendly, and getting help required repeated contact attempts.

Phoenix Plus 2 promises a lot, but in practice, its functionality and performance fall short. While the device has many features on paper, their usability is limited, and the frequent "not supported" messages are frustrating. I cannot recommend this device to anyone expecting professional-grade accuracy and reliability.

I bought the topdon 800bt

I bought the topdon 800bt, at first it was a fantastic tool but the blutooth dongle stopped working, it connects to the computer and I can update the firmware but it won't connect to the car. I got a replacement unit and this one worked for a few months and then exactly the same thing happened again to that one. I can't get a replacement as the original warranty is out of date, I'm furious now as I need to do a dpf regen and have to buy another tool.

Hi, thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We’re truly sorry for the experience you’ve had.

First of all, we sincerely apologize for the delivery issue. Sending the package to the wrong country is absolutely not acceptable, and we understand how frustrating it must have been to wait over a month for a replacement. We’re already reinforcing our shipping verification process to make sure this does not happen again.

Regarding the function support and performance, vehicle coverage does vary by make, model, year, and system. We always recommend checking the coverage list on our official website(https://www.topdon.com/pages/vehicle-coverage) or reaching out to our official Facebook page for pre-sales confirmation before purchasing. If you encounter unsupported functions after purchase, you can submit feedback directly on the device. Our technical support team will review the logs and provide assistance as quickly as possible.

We’re also very sorry to hear that our customer service did not meet your expectations. This is not the experience we want to deliver, and your comments have been taken seriously and shared internally for improvement.

We regret that we were unable to meet your expectations this time. Thank you again for your honest feedback, and we genuinely hope we’ll have the opportunity in the future to provide you with better products and a much improved service experience.

Useful product, with better support than I expected!

I purchased an 'ArtiDiag800 BT' about 11 months ago and found the tool to be both useful and easy to use. I recently had to contact technical support due a likely battery fault. After I'd sent 'Jane' in the technical support department a video of the device misbehaving, an RMA/exchange was agreed, with me needing to return the device so it could be replaced.

The replacement device arrived without issue and frankly, looked brand new. Crucially, the replacement device works correctly.

Overall I'd recommend the device and I'm comfortable considering other Topdon devices e.g. jump packs etc.

NOTE: To avoid confusion, there is Topdon.com (which is basically Topdon China i.e. the parent group) and topdondiagnostics.co.uk, which is the UK variant. Each sells there own product lines, so topdondiagnostics.co.uk don't have anything to do with devices such as my 'ArtiDiag800 BT' because it essentially not their device.

DO NOT BUY !!

DO NOT BUY !!! SCAMMMERS
They sell you the item lying about the fact that you get life time updates, but after a year of use, the device will not work unless you buy a new license, which costs 120 USD PER YEAR !!! This is misleading sales, and I will take legal action against them.
