⭐☆☆☆☆ Serious fraud issue not handled properly
We experienced multiple unauthorised Direct Debit fraud transactions (£4,500 x several) on our account with Tide.
Despite reporting this immediately:
* No refund was issued
* Further payments were allowed to go out (even after reporting)
* Communication has been poor with little to no updates
Under the Direct Debit Guarantee, refunds should be immediate, yet we’ve been told to wait while more money leaves the account.
This has had a serious impact on our business. Very concerning lack of fraud control and response when it matters most.

I applied for the lite business account it wasn’t easy to do and I was asked the same q’s over and over. I have been charged £12.49 for the smart account I didn’t ask for. It’s impossible to communicate via the app. I’m closing my account

Georgi reached out from Tide, offering me a one month free trial and was open, transparent and forthcoming about the offer and it's benefits. He was friendly and not pushy, which I really appreciated.
I had some queries about a large payment I made from my Tide current account to my main business account yesterday. I've never had reason to contact Tide Support before, so was very disappointed to find support for "free" account holders is pretty much non existent. Good luck if you need help! There's no telephone support available unless you're "on boarding" and opening an account. Otherwise you have to pay to upgrade your account to get telephone support from a human being. It's a total joke. Why treat customers like this!
As there is no telephone support, yesterday afternoon I wasted 2 hours waiting for Tide's useless online Chat to connect me to an agent. After 2 hours still no agent! I also tried emailing hello@tide, only to get a page full of AI generated irrelevance, but again no help. So, how is one expected to solve any day-to-day issues with payments if you have a "free" account? It seems that Tide treat free account holders with a level of contempt.
My other gripe is Tide's constant interest rate cuts on their Instant Saver Account. When I opened my Tide Savings Account I was getting a competitive interest rate of around 4.0% AER, but I am now getting a derisory 2.27% AER. Not finished there, the latest reduction on May 11th will take that down to a pitiful 2.00% AER. That's half the 4.0% I got when I signed up! Given the base rate is at 3.75% I feel a little cheated. I have since opened a business savings account with Kent Reliance who offer 3.8% AER and have started moving my funds over to them. When this is done I will be closing my Tide account.
So, if you value your sanity, please don't make the same mistake as me signing up to Tide.

Poor service.
I have money banked with this company. I moved money to my Isa. As It was alot i expected a call to check. No ! They send me a message online which they did not bother to email or call me saying they are with holding the payment as it could be a scam My account has lost interest for 8 days now and the money has come out of my account .Does it not make sense to call people ?? I will report my findings when they respond to my rather angry email I sent them . I expect compensation. God ,if i had assumed the payment went through as fine this could have been months before I checked in again ,Not impressed Tide .;O( I will be looking a switching shortly .Only been with them 5 months .
