Selling CLOCKED cars with outstanding finance

i bought a mini from this place with 18 months ago, had some problems with it, especially in cold weather so decided to trade it in. they say they do all the checks. When i went to a larger garage they did the checks and found it was registered as having outstanding finance and the clock had been turned back by 6000 miles. Bunch of crooks. i will never buy from a small independent company again. i have put last weeks date as that's when i found all this out

A Professional and Honest Garage

In early 2024 I took my aging 2012 1 Series in for an oil change and MOT. The car was returned with the cruise control not engaging. I was advised of a software update on the cluster that may or may not have been the cause. I suspected software as an MOT and oil change were unlikely culprits.

A few weeks later I returned for a much-needed transmission refresh. Fluids, filters, seals etc. Cruise control was investigated and faulty steering buttons were diagnosed as the cause. As cruise control would turn on but gave the error "Cruise Control cannot be activated" when trying to set the speed I suspected the buttons worked fine.

Disappointed with the Cruise Control I did not return for my next MOT. The next garage incorrectly advised my transmission was leaking. As the work was less than 12 months old I returned here. Once they confirmed they had done my transmission they didn't hesitate to offer to take a look and investigate ASAP.

They investigated and went the extra mile to show me in a way that left me without a doubt the leak was engine oil and not transmission. Even diagnosing the most likely cause.

They advised they also gave the contacts in the steering column a clean and now my cruise control works.

My overall experience throughout was friendly, polite and professional. The 4 stars are for cruise control debocle. I believe this garage to be honest and would happily take my car here again should the need arise.
