Shady practices
I got a loan with them for an emergency and paid it back within two weeks. When I went back for another loan they denied me?

I got an email offering me $2,200 but when I read the agreement I was extremely shocked by their ridiculous interest that was more than $11k for 2 years. The U.S. government must get rid of this demon company that is dead hungry for money!
If I could give 0 stars
If I could give 0 stars, I would.
Please think twice before signing a loan with extremely high interest rates. It feels less like borrowing money and more like being trapped in a financial sentence. I borrowed $2,200 and paid $1,598.28 over 98 days — yet my payoff balance was still $2,170.56.
I was desperate when I applied, and it ended up costing me far more than I ever expected. I regret ever coming across this company. The terms are harsh, the interest is overwhelming, and the experience has been nothing but stressful.
If you’re considering a loan out of desperation, pause and protect yourself. Read everything carefully and don’t let urgency push you into something that will hurt you later. Companies like this take advantage of people when they’re vulnerable, and it’s not right.
I had to use AI, my review was brutal. i'm not ashamed for what I wanted to say though
I started the process of opening a CD…
I started the process of opening a CD with TBO Bank after their website showed competitive rates. The entire experience was frustrating and disappointing.
I was in contact with Assistant Relationship Officer, and the information I received was inconsistent and changed multiple times:
First they said funding via check or wire was fine.
Then they claimed ACH funding required a completely new application.
Finally they admitted that ACH is only allowed at maturity back to the original funding account — offering almost zero flexibility.
When I asked about changing beneficiaries, they first told me I would need to submit a new application, and later said they would simply send a DocuSign.
In short: No real ACH transfers, no dynamic beneficiary management like Marcus by Goldman Sachs, and no modern self-service online banking. The process feels outdated and unnecessarily complicated.
The rates may look good on paper, but the poor communication, contradictory answers, and lack of basic flexibility make it not worth the hassle. I strongly do not recommend TBO Bank to anyone seeking a smooth and modern CD experience. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere.
Such a GARBAGE company
Such a GARBAGE company. PLEASE do not use them. I had trouble in the month and called and asked if they could defer the payment to the end. The gentleman on the phone said sure. A week or so later got an email the account is past due. Emailed and no response. Got more threatening emails. Finally got an email back saying they can split the payment with the others till it is caught up. Great. Still getting threatening emails it is past due. Multiple reach outs to the company ZERO response. They are thieves and scammers. PLEASE do yourself a favor and DO NOT use them. There are plenty of other options out there.
Apr loans are ridiculously high as ell
Apr loans are ridiculously high as ell, but they will give you one! The company never answers the phone though, goodluck.
Would rate 0 stars but not an option
Could not be more displeased.
I’d accessed a small loan from them a year ago and paid it off quite rapidly (1-2 months), and thought oh I’ll try them again this year. My interest rates nearly doubled, which was quite surprising considering my personal credit had gone up substantially since the year prior.
Just to give people a full understanding, I accessed a $2000 loan prior to my income tax return needing some extra funds for bills. Assuming I would pay it off in 1-2 months like the year prior.. sadly, my income tax return was delayed. Anyways, after three months of a $375.77 change monthly payment.. also an additional $75 payment one month, and an additional $150 payment another month (totaling $1327.31) the actual amount still owed of my loan was $1551. Not even $450 of $1300+ went towards principal in the course of 3 months!!!
Realistically, this is not an option for anyone unless they want a $2000 loan, and they want to pay back 10,000.
This is a poor people interest tax.
I do not recommend TBO loans.
Additionally, their email correspondence was rigid, lacked any sincerity, and showed light on the character of their company and its employees.
I will not ever recommend the use of TBO bank or it’s services to anyone.
STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS!
Company like this deserves NEGATIVE stars. Unfortunately, desperate times like today causes you desperate things so when I received their loan offer in the mail, I thought that was sign from GOD because it came at the right time. I read through the terms but nowhere did it say that my interest would 300+%...So my $1,900 loan will really cost me $12,000 and that right there ladies and gentlemen is what you call a SCAM. Please stay away from these type of business who only wants to take advantage of people. I HOPE they go out of business or gets sued for everything they have. GO TO HELL!

I had a $1500 loan
I had a $1500 loan. When it’s paid off I’ll have paid $7000. How does that make sense? I took out a loan because I needed the money and they expected me to pay it off in a week to avoid a high interest rate. Taking advantage of me that’s for sure and ruining my life!

Specious Company
had to do a search on these people and could not trace them, we did not obtain any type of personal loan from them and they are definitely not a catalog or mail order sort. they have been charging us close to $15 twice a month for almost a year which totals close to $700. Had to file a fraud claim with our bank. if they are in the business of loans we should not be on their list. there's a possibility of some kind third person fraud where we were put on a list or had our bank account info stolen. be sure to check your statements. TBO bank is not a credit card.

Exorbitant interest rate was a shocker
People who are asking for a loan typically are not in a good financial situation.
I was shocked and dismayed to discover that my interest rate was 335%. I continued to receive offers weeks after I had stopped applying for a loan. Unfortunately- I am stuck paying 10K back on $1600. loan. The next two years of my life are ruined. I am a Senior citizen and had no idea that terms would exceed 30% interest rate. They certainly obscured this detail during the application process...I erred greatly when I clicked on their marketing text without asking specific questions. Please beware.
AVOID THIS LENDER AT ALL COSTS
AVOID THIS LENDER AT ALL COSTS. This is an extremely predatory lender. I was involved in an online scam where someone was pretending to be a loan officer and sent this loan to me. Since September 12th, I have been making weekly payments to them for my original balance of $2900 that I borrowed and now my total loan balance is $2988.23 after paying them $686.52. I explained that I had a case open with the FBI, local authorities, and with my personal banking account due to the fraud and they did not care. They insisted I pay the full balance and would not offer a settlement even though AGAIN I WAS INVOLVED IN A FRAUDULENT transaction. I have tried to offer a settlement amount because I am going to have to file bankruptcy otherwise and they said they could not offer a settlement and only the system could offer that. They could not explain why only their system could offer a settlement and kept pushing me to make extra payments to try and get ahead. This is the WORST lender ever and has no empathy for someone who has already lost everything and is trying to do the right thing by paying back most of the loan.

Harassing me even though I've made all my payments
I've had a loan through them for about 2 months now. My 4th payment was due on 10/17. I submitted that payment on 10/1 (it was the 4th "early portal payment" I have made). On top of that, I have paid about 500$ extra back ahead of time. So tell me why I have received 3-4 emails and a couple texts telling me my account is past due. I tried emailing support about this and all they did was explain to me what a missed payment is and very clearly did not read anything I mentioned in my email. I then tried to call customer support and it was the same frustrating response of "oh you missed a payment that was due on the 17th". It is like speaking to a brick wall. You'd think with the outrageous interest rates they charge they would be able to hire any competent people.

If I could leave NO stars, I would!! Their interest rates are criminal. I've paid off this loan and haven't touched the principal. DO NOT get a loan with this company!!!!
