Customer Care: Terrible

Diabolical.

This branch have not been trained in customer care. They have zero listening skills, ordering parts ahead of the customer agreeing to the work being carried out. We have had several bad experiences with this branch - one of which was a calculation error to the sum of £166 over what the itemised bill added up to. Thank goodness we can add and caught it before paying!

The Volvo assist service which they promote on their website, in the sales department and in service and MOT checks is rubbish and basically they (Taggarts) claim it is Volvo’s assist programme and nothing to do with them despite them advertising and promoting it on their website! No courtesy cars are actually available through Volvo Assist - when they claim to get you back on the road quickly so there is no disruption to your travel plans - what they mean is - if you don’t need to get your vehicle recovered to their workshop, they will get you back on the road.

Terrible is too kind an adjective

Good service from Volvo Glasgow

I bought a 7 month old Volvo V90 from Volvo Glasgow in February 2020. I live about 200 miles away and made the purchase over the phone. I dealt with Chris Boyd, who was easy to work with, and we were able to get to a deal I was happy with without too much to and fro. Probably the easiest car buying experience I've had, despite not being face to face.

Everything went smoothly, and all the staff I met at the dealership were friendly. Chris was busy with another customer when I arrived, but one of his colleagues made sure I was looked after from the moment I arrived.

Obviously, given the distance, I haven't used the dealership for service, but when there was a minor issue after purchase (an item on the spec sheet of the car wasn't actually fitted, which was an error by Volvo UK), the dealership resolved it for me, arranging for it to be dealt with by my local Volvo dealership.

All in, a good experience and I love the car too.

Avoid Taggart Volvo at all cost

Avoid Taggart Volvo at all cost. Although Volvo range of cars are reliable, the technician's excellent, knowledgeable and extremely helpful, the management are unprofessional, uncaring, rude. Absolutely no customer support.

same old, same old

So another visit to the woeful Volvo dealers in Hillington, after having me sitting waiting for 4 1/2 hours, I am in the waiting area and informed by telephone that the Volvo professional mechanics have lost seals off of the fuel rail and they have no parts in stock, I will have to come back tomorrow. So 2 days lost and I have no car and I am a carer. Walked a mile to train station and 2 trains to get home. Flashbacks to the Keystone Cops...

Do not buy a car from this Garage

Do not buy a car from this Garage. Land Rover Taggarts Glasgow North?

I bought a Approved used Evoque 2015 model with 38000 miles in October 2020, I can honestly say it’s the worst car and experience I have ever had.

The car has been in the garage 6 times for warranty work.

This garage damaged my car when in for a repair.

The garage damaged my steering wheel, offered a repair, repair was poor quality. The garage then took a steering wheel off another car, and put it on my car, the steering wheel was a different model and in a
used condition, it had small marks, crumbs, paint, and a hole in the back of it. Not once did the garage call me and ask if it was ok for them to put a different model of steering wheel on my car.

I am flabbergasted that a luxury car brand would even think about doing this. Taking parts of a working car and putting them on a faulty car.

This garage makes false claims on job sheets about work that’s been carried out.

The quality of workmanship is shocking, car has been returned to the garage 3 different time to get previous jobs repaired.

Tools have been left in the car and the car has been scratched when getting repaired.

Please think about this before using this garage for any type of service.

Started well with a good sales buying…

Started well with a good sales buying experience; But then had to deal with the service side of Taggarts Volvo branch in Hillington Glasgow; one of the absolute worst dealer experiences, over the last 3 years, since buying my new top of the range S90 from same dealership in 2018; my car was serviced there several times and it came back damaged each time which i had to fix at my own cost, service team categorically always denied any liability; even a battery change on my remote fob was refused 3 times - the first time they said its working okay when it clearly wasn't working, second time i said "please change it and charge me whatever", they said ok but never did, third time I popped in again and they said they need authorisation first! I eventually watched a Youtube video and changed it 2 minutes; overall utterly ghastly after sales service from a team I would call rude, arrogant. What is the point of having lovely showrooms and quality cars when service staff are rude and incompetent beyond belief. I will never buy a Volvo again.

PUT WARRANTY IN BIN!

Very surprised that Volvo would franchise their reputation to a company that plays so lose with their stated standards. Volvos such highly regarded selekt warranty and I quote from Taggarts website “one of the most comprehensive warranties available. It covers all key mechanical and electrical components”. However apparently not.....?!

Electrical seat not working on car that is only just over three years old and relatively low mileage not working. No sign of accidental damage, surely it’s not possible to have general wear and tear or degradation on such a new vehicle. A bill for £144, according to Taggarts not covered by the warranty as not a faulty component but a lose wire.

When questioning service assistant and asking are electrical faults not covered I was told. “No they are not” I was later told by the same person that the warranty was not explained properly to me by the salesman who sold me the vehicle and the Selekt warranty is not the same as the one that you have with a brand new car. The salesman however did not tell me anything about the warranty it’s plastered all over every Volvo dealerships literature and website and is used as a major selling tool and you pay over the market value for the used approved peace of mind. At least that’s what I thought. It appears that the Selekt warranty is a monetary calculated risk as faults that you would quite rightly assume would be covered may not be? And there is a exploratory fee as soon as your cars on the ramp and then you just have to take Taggarts word for it that it’s a lose wire and not a faulty component. Nothing mentioned on the literature that lose wires aren’t covered!

My faith in the warranty is shot, along with Taggarts obviously. Unfortunately they are the only Volvo dealership in Glasgow. I really like Volvo cars however I will think very hard whether I would buy either a new or approved used again.

Generally fed up with car dealers thinking they can act with impunity.

Volvo do you really want Taggarts representing you?

Using Customers Cars for Leisure

We put our car into Taggarts Volvo Hillington over 2 weeks ago for an issue with the hybrid charging. Was totally outraged to see that the car had been taken home by an employee lastnight (which I do know happens) but then went out on a shopping spree at the Forge Retail Park later that night, finally parking back up after 9pm. I then had to remotely lock my car as whoever had it didn’t bother. I was told it was a test run that it was on which is strange because the issue was with the hybrid but was driven with no electric charge in it, only using petrol. I was also told the employees wife was in the car! So a trip out with your wife later on after you have taken the car home to the likes of the Range, Tesco and B&M is classed as a test run. So angry with this branch. I did get an apology when it was discovered I knew exactly where the car had been! Was told the car may be back with me tomorrow or Monday. Needless to say I asked for the car back today as it clearly is fine to drive! The car is now back (no idea why I was told tomorrow or Monday then). I just presumed this branch would treat me with some respect and not feel they could use my car for their leisure. Someone in that branch has totally blurred my opinion of Taggarts Volvo.

Worst customer service - Booked appointment not fulfulled!

I contacted the Hillington Volvo branch to arrange an appointment as I knew covid-restraints would not allow walk ins off the street. The kind receptionist took my details and told me someone would call me back that day (to book an appointment?!). No phone call. I waited 2 days with no call. I called myself and asked to book an appointment, the male on the phone took all of my details and I proceeded to make a 40 minute journey to the dealership with a £40k car purchase excitement. On arrival, the receptionist asked if I had an appointment - I told her yes, she asked for the name of who with … I have no idea? No name was given and no contact had been confirmed. She told me I wouldn't get to see someone without a name. I BOOKED ON THE PHONE! Her diary system was (no joke) on a scribble pad from Tesco - not quite a taggarts standard booking system as I'd have expected. She asked me to wait on the sales manager - 15 minutes later, still no manager. The receptionist apologised numerous times but when asked if the sales manager would be able to help us purchase the car, she told us no - we will not be seen today. So we left, completely deflated after a long drive and struggling for a baby sitter! Will never go back again, complete lack of customer service - not acceptable when potentially paying for a high value item/service. Maybe in the long run it's a blessing we haven't gone with them, would not recommend.

This purchase was my fourth new Jaguar…

This purchase was my fourth new Jaguar purchased, and obviously had vehicles serviced by Jaguar dealers on numerous occasions. I am more than happy with all my dealings with them. That is one of reasons I wanted to stay with Jaguar. I have to mention Alan MacFarland who was extremely helpful, answering my numerous emails with minimum of delay and sourcing vehicle very promptly. Also arranging delivery which I requested due to my own circumstances. I have to say my whole experience went very smoothly from start to finish.

Car booked in for mot

Car booked in for mot. Travelled a considerable distance to have this done. Told them at the time of booking the car in I would need the car back by 12:30 that day. No problem I was told.
As I dropped the car off and reminded them I needed the car by 12:30. I was informed it wouldn’t be ready until between 3 to 5 pm.
Once upon a time the customer was valued now it would appear he/she can be taken for granted.
Not only have you lost the servicing of the car, but I will never buy from Taggarts again. Do you care? Probably not, going by the other comments on here.

Travellled a considerable distance to…

Travellled a considerable distance to purchase a new Range Rover, my wife and I walked through the showroom on two occasions. No other potential customers were in the dealership at this time, no sales representative approached us during our time in the showroom.

Strangely there were 3 sales representatives who were simply not interested in approaching us, disgustedly a female receptionist was ensuring her make-up was perfect by applying her lipstick.

Another member of staff had is head phones on and was nodding his head obviously listening to music. This is how good our experience was. How incompetent this dealership were.

My wife and I departed this dealership and will never ever return. Please do not waste your journey / time by visiting Taggarts Mary Hill, Glasgow.

They will let you drive with dodgy brakes

I would not recommend taggarts volvo in hillington to anyone. Had my brake pads and discs replaced in here and it turns out that the job had not been done. Made a call to taggarts to get the car back in to have it checked but they said they were very busy. After 3 weeks of driving the car with faulty brakes they took it in and just said that’s the brakes done now. Absolutely no care at all, very unprofessional people and poor customer service, thumbs down for you and your poor show.
