I asked for a specific car (Mercedes E class) and was informed that they will do everything possible to let me have this car. I arrived and a brand new Mercedes was waiting for me.
Even I came 2 hours late for delivery, I didn’t got extra charged and I had an overall very good and remarkable customer service and experience

This was one of the worst rental car…

This was one of the worst rental car experiences I have ever had. I used the Sixt Fornebu location near Oslo.

I extended my rental through Sixt Fornebu after being explicitly told in writing that a NEW contract would be created for the extension period and that I would be able to REVIEW and SIGN it electronically before payment. That never happened.

At no point was the new rental price clearly disclosed to me. I was simply sent a payment link with no clear explanation that the rental rate itself had increased significantly. Later, I discovered I had been charged a much higher amount than my original agreed rental price.

When I challenged this, Sixt’s response was essentially that because I extended the rental, they could change the price afterward under their terms and conditions — despite never clearly presenting the revised rate beforehand and despite not having a signed revised contract. They still have not provided proof that I knowingly accepted the increased pricing.

What makes this even worse is that during the rental period they also sent me an aggressive email demanding to know why I had not returned the vehicle FIVE DAYS before the agreed return date. They were completely wrong. After I corrected them, nobody apologized.

The entire experience was misleading, chaotic, and incredibly unprofessional. Customers should not have to fight to find out what they are actually being charged after being told they would receive a contract to review first.

Be extremely careful dealing with this location, especially if you need to extend your rental. Get EVERYTHING in writing, including the exact price, before making any payment.

NEVER rent whit them!
They provide a slightly lesser price compared to other rentals just to make sure you rent with them, they make sure to leave your car with a very small damage on the windscreen on an unlit parking. For us the damage was so small we couldn't record it with our phone as the parking was completely dark. Afterward they send you a fake damage claim knowing you couldn't record the damage, they sent us a claim for 1500 NOK! Really do yourself a favour and avoid this car rental at all

Dishonnest damage charging

Warning ⚠️ we rented a car at Stavanger airport. We were charged 7,000 NOK for damage to the rear interior of the car, even though we did not sit in the back at all. No photos or inspection report of the car’s interior were provided by Sixt when the contract was signed. And we did not think of shooting photos of the interior neither. I consider this agency to be dishonest.

Sixt at Trondheim - insurance quote misrepresentation, avoid at all costs

Sixt at Trondheim airport verbally gave me a price for upgraded insurance at the check-in desk and then charged my card for over six times the quoted amount - even though they had clearly said it was for the full rental period. They mislead, misrepresent and misquote insurance fees verbally in the knowledge that customers are under pressure to sign for the car quickly and leave due to long queues - very poor practice. There are plenty of good hire companies at Trondheim so avoid Sixt at all costs.

Sixt is a Great option!

My wife and I rented a Toyota Rav4 with Sixt at Svolvaer Norway, the best decision we made to visit Lofoten Islands, everything was clear, easy and very quick. We highly recomend Sixt.

Frauds! DO NOT RENT HERE!

Sixt Norway is trying to charge customers for old damage. What happened to me feels like straight-up scamming.

I picked up the car late at night with no joint inspection. The employee told me to just walk around the car myself and said scratches under 1 cm could be ignored.

After returning the car, I got an email the same day claiming there was new damage on the left front rim.

That is impossible. I made exactly one trip and was never near a curb.

Even worse: their own form already had a mark on a rim — but on the right front wheel, where there was actually no visible damage at all (I had photos). Clearly they mixed up left and right.

Sixt refused to acknowledge this and simply repeated that the damage was “new” and therefore my responsibility.

Invoice: 5,290 NOK (over €500) — including “loss of use” fees because the car supposedly needed repairs.

Absolute nonsense.

Check Trustpilot: dozens of identical stories. Same tactic. Same outcome. This doesn’t feel accidental — it feels intentional.

Sixt Norway: dishonest and predatory.
Avoid at all costs.
