Dresses are beautiful but refund takes ages. I took credit. 1500£ not my fault dresses doesn't fit big breast. For first refund its took 3 weeks in total. Now 9th of Jan and I returned dresses before Christmas. This is ridiculous!!!! 1500£ it's not 50£ when you can wait it's credit for no reason but I think company roll your money on stock market for a while. All companies refund next day. Still waiting for refund. That is how they make money from you. Will not order again so many maybe just 1 dress.
Great customer service
I had to make a return for some dresses I bought for my daughter. Because of the Holidays I was a couple days late but upon reaching out to customer service to explain the situation, customer service was very understanding and allowed the return! I’m grateful for the understanding and prompt response it really shows that this company cares for their customers and their experience. I will definitely be purchasing again because of this positive experience!

Had a very nice experience in the store but so glad I didn't buy at the time. I had two friends comment on Instagram that they offer the literal minimum wage to new employees. Imagine that - A luxury boutique in Chelsea paying less than McDonalds wages. So disappointing and dangerous to support organisations like this.

If you are purchasing from outside the UK, be very careful. First you’d have to pay duties and taxes which is fine and budget about 33% of what you are spending for this. Now, the real issue is if the outfit does not fit and you need to return or exchange from outside the UK. You WILL need to return at your own cost. To return from Canada was going to cost me more than the dress. So guess what I’m about $500 down the drain. I emailed them and got a generic message that shipping back is on you in today’s market?? Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

I am deeply disappointed with my recent experience. When the dress arrived, it was in a completely crumpled condition, requiring me to spend significant time ironing it just to be able to try it on. This left a very poor first impression.
From the moment I opened the package, it was evident that the overall quality of the product was not as high as I had expected.
Additionally, I was surprised and frustrated to learn that the return process is not straightforward—it has to be entirely organized by the customer. Had I known this in advance, I would not have placed the order at all.
While the customer service team was polite, their assistance was limited to offering kind words without providing any actual solutions.
I feel it’s important to share this experience so that other potential customers are aware of these issues before making a purchase.

POOR quality, POOR customer service
I purchased a $450 dress from
Self-Potrait. The maxi, sequenced, formal dress arrived in a box folded over 4 to 5 times, with no tissue paper or any packaging material. When I took it to get hemmed two tailors noticed that numerous sequence pieces were missing. I did not have alterations done. I contacted self-potrait, sent pictures of the tags that were still on, numerous pictures of patches where the sequence was missing and asked for a full refund or $200 (poor quality clearly not stopped from being shipped during “quality check”) refund to pay tailor to fix dress. Although their website says that REFUNDS will be given for damaged merchandise, they insisted that they would only give store credit for the damaged merchandise they delivered. I told them that I could not order another dress from self-portrait because they did not have my size; and based on the exact same timeframe of the damaged dress the new dress would arrive and be ready to wear 4 days after my daughter’s wedding. Self-portrait merchandise is of poor quality, at a high price. The customer service is horrible. They do not answer the phone. Emails come maybe once a business day (time difference is 7 hrs London/BST-MST). Self-portrait does not honor policies posted on their site. I strongly suggest not to purchase from them. I wont be.
At my alterations appointment today, the tailor pointed out that the back of the dress is 2.5”-3” shorter than than the front. “Factory made mistake” , she said. She had not seen this much unevenness in a hem. And she is a tailor. Speaks to self portrait’s merchandise quality.
Sizing is off, company takes no ownership
Nice dresses but customer service is not good. The sizing is completely off. I talked to customer service beforehand to get a better idea of the sizing as my dresses are all in Medium but on the website they run UK size numbers. Advice was completely wrong! So i ordered the size which was completely off. Anyways contacted them to explain the situation and that i want to reorder but wish to get free return in return was told its my own fault i got it wrong…
Honestly no idea why would they not give me a free return label when i tell them i want to reorder in another size and spend more money!
Also went to boutique in Mayfair to get advice on sizing where they said they only sell dresses in sizing SML etc not UK numbering. Seems staff is completely clueless!
I also dont understand why a brand that sells 300-500 pound dresses would charge for returns. Stupid policy. Good luck on surviving!

Beautiful quality garments, sadly I had to return a dress I bought for a wedding that’s no longer taking place, I would have loved to have kept it but just didn’t know when I would get the opportunity to wear it again and too expensive to justify it just hanging in my wardrobe. It was my first time to purchase products from self-portrait. I was a little bit afraid about overseas shopping but the clothing I found in self-portrait was so beautiful that I took a risk. The package was delivered so fast, but unfortunately the cardigan I ordered was too big for me, so I had to do an exchange into a smaller size. Through this procedure, Daria from customer service was very helpful and kind. She quickly answered all my questions so it made me easier to return the item!! I could get a new cardigan with a perfect fit in no time.

Review for Self Portrait Dress - dissapointing and quality of service
I recently purchased a dress from Self Portrait online for a relative's wedding, expecting a high-quality product for the price. Unfortunately, my experience was far from what I anticipated. Not only did I lose *five buttons* from the dress after just one wear, but I also learned that getting a replacement or refund was impossible because I was outside the 14-day refund window.
Customer service initially offered to help, saying they’d try to source replacement buttons from the manufacturer in China. However, they were only able to find two, leaving me with a dress missing three buttons that are almost impossible to replace, given the unique design.
I’m very disappointed both with the quality of the dress and the lack of flexibility in customer service, especially for a premium brand. I now have a dress that I can’t wear, and I’m left to hunt for matching buttons myself. I expected much better quality and service from Self Portrait and, unfortunately, will think twice before shopping here again.
Return and refund experience was not great!
I shopped at the Bicester Village once and know that their clothes sizes are generally smaller. Therefore I ordered two size in one dresses and other dress in two colours online so I can see what size and colour may suit me. The dresses arrived very quickly no problem at all. However, I returned the duplicate dresses the following day (had chosen one knits dress in the smaller size and the other dress in Pink colour). Despite I received a authorised return label and confirmation of received the return on 7th October 2024, however no refund was received despite I email them several time and eventually I called them again today and finally I received my refund.
I have shopped online often, the way to get refund from Self Portray was extremely difficult, I really do not think it should be like this, it really has put me off and thinking will I order their clothes online again? NO!!!
