The car hire company refused to release the vehicle to us after Reservaway put the wrong details on the booking. They do not provide any contact numbers for emergency assistance, the chat bot didn’t work and they haven’t responded to emails for 48 hours so far. This company is basically fraudulent - avoid at all costs

The website uses misleading and deceptive practices - stating cars are available 'in-terminal' at the domestic airport in Australia, but when you pay the deposit and get sent the car hire instructions, they state you need to get a shuttle from the airport to another suburb to collect the car.
This is NOT "in-terminal" at the airport.
Reservaway customer service (based in the UK), then say they will not refund your deposit, despite cancelling literally moments after booking and being sent the misleading 'switch and bait' tactic car hire terms.
If you're going to offer off-terminal car pick-up, just say it. Please do not lie to the public, then keep their money.

Scam artists!! The indicate that their car hire operates out of airport terminals when they do not - they operate offsite requiring a long and expensive transfer. When you are scammed into booking, they take a deposit and then ignore you when you try and cancel.
Avoid this scam at all costs!

Initially appealing based on their "first stated price" THAT'S BEFORE THE ADD-ONS
"free cancellation" IS NOT FREE They clearly state "free cancellation included" (48 hours before start date). When you cancel (before the 48 hours) they charge a 3% fee. Direct quote from Harry the rip off artist....."The fee is what was incurred by your card payment provider, it’s not a fee we pass on to you" AND "Payment provider is from whichever card you used. Visa/Mastercard etc" which is TOTAL BS!!! In the 50 plus years I've used credit cards "my payment provider" has NEVER CHARGED me for a refund/credit!!
I do owe them a debt of gratitude for treating me like KRRRRRRRaaaaaPPPP because they forced me to look elsewhere, I found dicovercars.com where I found a larger vehicle for $321.49 LESS THAN the rip offs reservaway charged me.....

I have been waiting for 10 hours for a confirmation email after booking a car. I checked all of the inboxes and spam mailbox. I emailed twice but only got one response and still haven’t received the confirmation yet. I am very stressed out about it. Did I get scammed?
10 hours later, I received my reservation number, but the confirmation letter hasn't been sent yet. When I looked up the booking details on Thrifty using the number, the car model did not match what I had picked for my booking. I'm still waiting for their response.
It has been 2 days after the booking was made, I still haven't received any booking confirmation email and the customer support team told me the incorrect car model shown in the Thrifty car rental system is an issue that is out of their control. I requested a refund and am waiting for it.
After three more days, I received my refund but 3% of the booking fee has been deducted for processing fee.
If you are considering booking a car with this company, please keep the following information in mind.
- you may receive confirmation email after few days of the booking being made
- the booking confirmation documents for picking up the car will only be sent out 48 hours before the pick up date. (It was mentioned in the confirmation email)
- takes a long time for refund

The booking and payment were made through ReservAway, but when I contacted customer support about the refund, I was told to contact the insurance provider directly because the cancellation was not processed in their system. As a customer, I did not contract directly with the insurance company — the purchase was made through the platform.
At this point I have spent weeks trying to resolve a refund that should be straightforward. I would simply appreciate clear assistance or internal coordination with the insurance provider instead of being redirected elsewhere.
Very disappointing experience. The customer service and commercial practices in handling this refund have been poor, leaving the customer to chase a solution for weeks.

I had booked a vehicle with reserve away. When I went to pick up my car. The particular model that I had reserved was not available and when I tried to contact the team of reserve away they never responded. In fact they responded to me after one week stating they are sorry I had to suffer for what I had gone through. I asked them to provide me with refund of their services which they never provided and they are not even replying back to my email anymore

I had four cars booked for a recent trip. 6 days from departing on holiday, I was advised with no notice ALL of my bookings were cancelled - because Reservaway coul not provide the rental prices they had agreed to online - no valid reason - no honouring what they offered - and despite two email request - no response - and worse still - no refund of all my deposits. Despite THEM being the ones who dumped me! Needless to say, rebooking with other providers meant I was out of pocket over $1k due to short notice. DO NOT USE RESERVEAWAY……. Oh and if the company thinks posting a response saying ‘oh - how sad - please contact us at ‘support’ @reservaway - DONT!! Again - already reached out to you TWICE and NO RESPONSE!

Just what you would expect on arrival, from the airport terminal it’s one minute walk across car park to rental office. Paper work sorted out, no autobahnvignette fees added, no additional deposit for parking and police fines.

Emails and live chats to confirm a refund had been authorised and processed. It is not 25 days after the reservation and no refund has been processed. Each agent advised it’s been sent to finance or that it’s been declined for no reason. Absolutely pathetic company and impossible to use or get a refund that THEY authorised. DO NOT USE! AVOID!

ReservAway is terrible at communication--their fully refundable does not mean fully refundable and in order to even get a refund we had to contact Skyscanner for help.
