Excellent service - special shout out to Emma the technician

Excellent service from the survey, which unfortunately identified some woodworm, to the booking in and completion of treatment. Special mention for Emma Bloomfield, the technician that did the treatment, she was outstanding. Professional, courteous but friendly and down to earth - could not have wished for a better person to come to our home and do the work.

F A N T A S T I C

F A N T A S T I C ! We urgently needed a damp& timber report to complete a mortgage and I cannot recommend this company highly enough. Firstly, I have to thank dear Janet B for her kind patient professional when I rang. I was immensely stressed as this was a crucial moment in our mortgage process.
She was simply wonderful!

It was Thursday morning when I rang and she managed to have the survey booked for the following Monday 9AM.
She went above and beyond the metaphorical ‘call of duty’ to calmly locate a surveyor who could do the survey, knowing we could not complete on the day without it.
So, within one hour, the appointment was scheduled for us.
Just one working day after my call. She is A Gem. Thank you dear Janet B.
Sam, the surveyor rescheduled his busy diary to come and do the necessary survey and, to our amazement and delight, once I rang the solicitors with news of this, the lenders agreed to complete on time! Sam is superb. Friendly and professional. Arriving exactly at 9AM.
After completing his survey, He submitted the report later the same day!
The price was also well below other companies that I had contacted.

A TRULY PROFESSIONAL SERVICE WITH OUTSTANDING STAFF!

Damp diagnostics through to resolution

Carla,

Lloyd Jones, the surveyor, was excellent and very helpful - pointing out the damp areas and the cause of the damp as well as recommended solutions. His report was thorough. It was easy to book the work and Carla in the office made sure the appointment was convenient. The work went smoothly and Dave the technician was great. He kept us informed of progress and always told us what each days work would be. He arrived when he said he would and was friendly, polite and an all- round nice person. He left the site clean and tidy every day and worked as quietly as the job allowed. Dave gave an estimated time for the plaster to be ready for redecoration.
We're very happy with the work this far, and are fairly confident that there won't be any issues when we come to paint it.

Booking system that sells what they can't deliver

Update. As I can't reply to their reply, I will explain it here. I shared my details when I filled the online form, with the person on the phone and through Trustpilot. Yet you are asking me to provide again those details. Therefore I stand by my review below.

Original review:
I can't rate the service, but I can rate the IT systems that allow you to book a survey online when they can't provide the service in the area. You waste time entering all your information, try to pay, the payment fails, and then you have to call, wait to speak to a human who can't find your reference number in their very slow systems, only to be told there is currently no one available to carry out surveys in the area. No one. For the whole of Norfolk. That speaks to very poor resource planning and a clear disconnect between the IT and commercial teams. I genuinely thought Rentokil was a serious business. After today, I'm not so sure.

Plastering insurance

Had insurance in a house from previous owners for some plastering in the bathroom. There’s been issues in the room for a while with the plastering. I contacted rentokill with photos prior to paying the outrageous £200 for a visit with some photos and they implied that it would be worth a visit. The man arrives and instantly tells me it’s not their issue as all the issues are over 1.2m which is where their plaster goes up to. Up to 1.2m is covered in tiles as shown in the pics I sent. He was good and gave me advice on how to stop the issues I was facing with the plaster above the line but it was still not anything worth £200 which could have paid for a damp survey for the entire house. I also had to pay £100 as I didn’t have all the documents passed to me. Basically a rip off to try and take advantage of an insurance they give. Avoid them and go with people who won’t rip you off if you try and claim on their insurance. I had a feedback call after the visit and was promised a call back by a senior manager which never happened.

Update: still never got a phone call. Thank you for the reply. Whilst I was aware of the risk of losing £200 I still think it’s basically blackmail - I didn’t know the issue was higher than your plaster was done to (though the photos I sent did show this). If you’re looking to work with this company and think the guarantee is a peace of mind - don’t bother. Find one that won’t charge a really high amount to check if there’s a problem with it.

To ensure total clarity, we provide a pre-inspection email outlining that certain issues, like condensation fall outside the scope of the guarantee and that a fee applies if the issue isn’t a covered defect. We proceeded only after receiving your confirmation to move forward with the visit.
While our inspection confirmed that no further specialist treatment is required under your guarantee, our surveyor aimed to be helpful by providing additional information on how to manage the condensation issues found. We appreciate your business and are happy to discuss the report/condensation information further if you have questions.

Excellent work by Rentokil

Rentokil were very helpful right from the start, and were very good at keeping in touch, responding to my questions quickly and efficiently. This was principally due to Jaden's friendly and competent approach.
The joiners, Alan and Sam, and the plasterer Luke turned up promptly as planned, were friendly, efficient, professional, and cleaned up afterwards very well. The work took just under two days and involved removing a rotten internal wall and replacing it with a new one. There was much less mess than I'd feared and no fuss at all. They did excellent work, even going above and beyond, and I am very pleased with the result.

I have nothing but praise for the guys…

I have nothing but praise for the guys at Rentokil.
Sadly due to extenuating circumstances, they couldn't carry out the works, but their time, effort and patience they gave us, to try and get this work done, was outstanding!!
Nothing was to much trouble.
They are a fantastic team and I want to say that Robert, Mia and Matt were beyond amazing.
You are truly in experienced, safe hands.
They were the BEST!!
Highly recommend.

Tom, the technician, drove up from near Bristol everyday and always managed to arrive on time, 8am. He was a very pleasant person to have in our house and a very clean and tidy workman whilst he was mixing the "stuff" and spreading it on the floor in a very confined space.
