After being referred by my GP to Mount Stuart (Torbay) I expected a bit more selected service than I would have by going NHS. It was an absolute disaster. I can categorically say now they are only int... See more

after having a very poor spinal operation by paul davies at new hall hospital salisbury which has left me needing to take pain killers everyday which i was not taking before the operation . before the operation i had pain down my right leg i know have far more pain down both legs and a lot more lower back pain i feel i was very poorly advised before the operation that i was not told this was a possible outcome . when i made a complaint to new hall they dragged it out for a long time saying the e mails got clogged up in the computer . do not believe the good reviews because they bloke the bad ones . they blocked my facebook page for leaving for leaving a bad review i have had other people private message me about similar experience about poor operations before they blocked me i would advise anybody to keep away from this hospital

Sent them an email which they never responded to and when I phoned up to try to arrange something that way they were more interested in data-mining me for personal information than they were in helping me. Not surprised they have so many 1-star reviews.
Outstanding patient care from my consultant and the endoscopy staff at Middlesbrough hospital for two recent endoscopies, Many thanks to all staff concerned with my treatment. Kevin Henry

One of their doctors, Professor Raine, was instructed to write a medico-legal report regarding my boyfriend's hearing loss.
The purpose of these reports is to defend the NHS's actions (more appropriately, inaction), but this comes at the cost of attempting to gaslight people. The report states he lost his hearing a long time ago, in his early childhood, when this was not the case; he gradually lost his hearing ability until it finally ceased altogether when he was in his early teens. He knows this, and everyone who knew him then knows this.
Despite this, the NHS remains steadfast in its belief that it was right, even though even one of its consultants had suggested that an MRI scan should have been conducted sooner to intercept the cyst. He even had a hearing aid in this supposedly deaf ear for some eight years after it was stated he supposedly lost the ability to hear. It is a nonsensical situation. Since when did the NHS have taxpayers' money to waste on a hearing aid for a deaf ear?
It is almost farcical that a stranger can draft a report on medical negligence, essentially asserting that someone's life is a fabrication and that what they went through did not happen. The emotional toll of such misrepresentation is immense. Health improvements will not occur whilst this is standard practice.
Dreadful experience with Dr Vidakovic at the Fitzwilliam Hospital earlier this month.
Both my appointments were rushed, not the full allocated length of time.
Dr Vidakovic appeared irritable and dismissive and wouldn’t answer the most basic of questions regarding my MRI results.
Despite communicating this to the hospital I’m now being put through a complaints process just to receive the results of an MRI I’ve already paid for.
An incredibly distressing experience.
I cannot thank Dr Ashok enough, I feel like she has given me my life back. At my first appointment she listened carefully and sympathetically to my symptoms. Her questioning was very thorough and she examined my joints carefully. She was very appreciative of the background notes that my GP had provided. Following her initial diagnosis, the medication she prescribed provided me with relief in all my joints quickly. She is now working to determine the most suitable ongoing treatment. I would highly recommend Dr Ashok to anyone suffering from joint pains.
Ramsey Clinic Blakelands.
I took my daughter for an exploration procedure today, she was scared and expressed her fear of needles over the phone and again in person to Doctor Hossain and the nurse. She was visibly distressed after being kept waiting, they did not explain the procedure, ask her any questions or attempt to reassure her in any way in lacking understanding and empathy. They were impatient and quick to abandon the appointment saying she had refused the procedure and moved on.
Additionally, her appointment was delayed by 1 hour and 30 minutes. Shocking bedside manner and not the way to treat a nervous patient.
Had a cataract removed as a private patient at Fulwood Hall Hospital within 2 weeks of enquiring. Absolutely brilliant from start to finish, Mrs Jain the consultant, Kate Nihil thé coordinator and all nursing and administrative staff all brilliant, highly recommend.
Lisa Burt absolutely brilliant thank you so much for all your help, you went Round the world to get me an appointment ha ha.
My husband Melvyn Gilbert had a total knee replacement on the NHS at Fullwood Hall Hospital done by Mr McLaughlan and the care and attention given was amazing, Staff, Food aftercare second to none, thank you all

Attended the Fitzwilliam Hospital for early morning cholocystectomy procedure in October. Prepped and ready with the anaesthetist ready to give general anaesthetic and consultant ready in theatre when someone realised they had lost my last set of blood tests and couldn’t carry on. Why had no one checked? Anaesthetist was asked to take more bloods, which he wasn’t happy with, mentioning his professional duty of care to his patient. Bloods were to be urgently turned round at local hospital at Peterborough and I was returned to the ward to wait for the results to come back. I eventually went for procedure at 2.30pm and pleased to say everything went well after the stressful situation I found myself in the middle of in the theatre prep room earlier. Consultant and anaesthetist were not pleased that this had been allowed to happen and I detailed all of this in a follow up to the Ramsay Group. This has not been acknowledged by them in any way and I’m sadly disappointed with this level of service. Having paid thousands of pounds to go private I’m not sure I received the level of care I’d expected when I paid for the operation and certainly not happy that mistakes had been made and not even received an acknowledgement from Ramsay Health

I had a full knee replacement 2 weeks ago (I’m 63 yrs old) at The River’s/ Ramsay Hospital, my consultant was Mr George.
From the very first consultation to my current Physiotherapy sessions, the treatment has been first class. Every single person I have met along this journey has been kind and caring, patient and understanding.
My treatment was NHS not privately funded so I consider myself extremely lucky to have had my operation at The Rivers, the care I was given has speeded my recovery.
If you are looking for private treatment I couldn’t recommend this hospital highly enough

Excellent experience having facet joint nerve block injections at the Winfield Hospital, Glos (via NHS). Very knowledgeable consultant and clear plan of action explained. The hospital environment was clean, well organised and friendly and the procedure has been very successful in reducing my chronic pain, with a longer term ablation planned for the future. Very happy to recommend the Winfield Hospital.
Firstly attended local hospital for MRI scan in October 2020 during Covid , did not receive the results until April 2021, all due to constant pain in legs and back, I made a private appointment at the rivers hospital in January 21, on consultation Mr Gul inspected my back, could see that I had spina bifida and scar, sent me for a scan a few days later, was informed a few days later problem was disc and that I would need bilateral branch block, this was done end February 21, did not work, over time everything has got worse, had another MRI done on NHS last summer, told that problem has been a tethered spinal cord, and also showed the October 20 MRI which also showed the tethered spinal cord, I was completely mid diagnosed by NHS, onto the rivers, I went there and paid approx 4K for consultation,,scan and surgery, but today I received a copy of letter from my doctors from the rivers dated the same day as my first consultation, all they have done is look up the NHS report following the October scan, and report those findings word for word, couldn’t even wait to look at the scan they sent me for, made a complaint, stated that yes, I have a tethered spinal cord that was shown on last summer scan, think he should have looked at all the scans not just read the reports, can clearly be seen on scans I had done before and after my visit to the rivers,,
Absolutely disappointed
People go to hospital because it’s a last resort not a day out.
The team at Springfield in general seem not interested. I don’t want to mention names here but the consultant said the surgery may help or may not rather than give the patient some hope. The question is does he know his stuff really?
Nurses come
And interrupt the consultant whilst he sees another patient .
The list goes on .
Radiology Springfield Chelmsford, giving people scans that use a much higher dosage than necessary, lead Radiologist had no knowledge of the scans available. Advised me low dose protocol did not exist for the scan I was having, untrue, I booked this with London HCA the radiologist there knew immediately. I would have received 10 times the radiation necessary had I not known differently.
Same radiologist reported that I had a kidney stone which I did not, resulting in unnecessary operation, rupture of my urinary tract and sepsis. Negligent beyond belief.
Having issues after my colonoscopy, horrendous pains etc. quite a cause for concern. Rang them for advice, the woman didn’t seem interested at all, telling me to make an appointment with my GP as she cannot get hold of the doctor that I was under the care of. No responsibility or aftercare whatsoever. Considering there can be serious complications after these procedures it’s really surprising how much Ramsay Healthcare/Tees Valley Hospital do not care at all. I’d honestly stay clear of this group, as it seems once they’ve treated you and got the money, they don’t care at all. Still in pain and it isn’t getting better.

Woodthorpe hospital--failed to provide any post operative treatment following cataract surgery, as per their contract with the NHS. Contact with the hospital was almost impossible, with telephone calls unanswered and an attempt to blame the patient for temporary ptosis. Had to pay for a further eye tests.
In January 2024, Paul Scott, hospital director, did eventually apologise for the poor treatment.
This is a genuine review as my Ramsey Health Care complaint Ref number is : PS//comX/S1/COM-XX4.
On one of my visits to Woodthorpe Hospital I was unaware they had run out their usual eye drops to dilate my eye.
They failed to mention that the eyedrops which were put in place was Cyclopentolate and there could be extreme side effects.
In fact, my eyes were dilated for 3 days and this resulted in 2 days of cancelled work appointments at my office in Surrey, as I was not be insured legally to drive, nor could I adequately use my computer for work.
I suffered emotional and financial distress due to the eye Consultant Ophthalmologist Mr Alwitry and the hospitals professional inability to inform me of the side effects of cyclopentolate.
I then telephoned Woodthorpe hospital in Nottingham to make a complaint.
I spoke to reception and asked for HR to contact me and they said they would get someone to call me.
This never happened.
I eventually spoke to Laila Bahadur who offered £30 compensation.
I said increase the compensation to £100 and give it to a local food bank.
Her reply was I will have to get the Hospital director Paul Scott to authorise the foodbank donation.
12 days later the donation was not authorised and I was never informed on the outcome of the donation.
There are other issues as well and I have made a formal complaint and another complaint has not even been addressed or investigated . I have involved ISCAS with regards to my treatment at Ramsey.
I have been offered a meeting with the hospital director and will accept once the complaints are answered......
Unfortunately the hospital director cannot get my name correct on his reply.
My name now has been corrected....
Thankyou Mr Scott
for giving confidential information out on your reply that l am also complaining to other care provider?
I have more issues with Ramsey hospital and its not really the care provider l'm complaining about, it's the consultant that is contracted with both of you.
