Had an MRI on employee health insurance…
Had an MRI on employee health insurance for calf strain. Results not conclusive, debt collecting team very proactive to the point of using personal data to contact facebook contacts! Disorganised, shambolic, Id recommend elsewhere.
The appointments booking line ladies…
The appointments booking line ladies are remarkable. They showed empathy and efficiency in answering my query. Exceptional customer care, thank you Mandy and Anne Marie. I felt listened to and cared for.
Do not take your child to have a procedure at Rivers Sawbridgeworth
Do not take your child to have a procedure at Rivers Sawbridgeworth.
We have had a terrible experience, they only have 2 paediatric anaesthetists and on the day of my daughter's surgery at the final moment, it was found out that he didn't have up to date CPD for child resuscitation, instead of being honest with us for the reasons of change of anaesthetist (we'd already met the man that that was supposed to be in theatre and signed forms) and for the delay for surgery because of this awful error made by the anaesthetist, the staff decided to lie to us (including the surgeon), telling us that there was a delay in theatre & that we were lucky that they'd opened another theatre for us, this was a total lie. We found this out on the day as the paediatric nurse triggered a duty of candour and told us the truth as the surgery was close to being cancelled & she wasn't happy with the story we were being told. A hugely stressful day for my daughter from start to finish. As a result of the delay we left the hospital with a shortened recovery period and she was in no fit state to go home (as advised by a nurse the following day) but we had no choice as the paediatric ward doesn't allow children to stay overnight.
My 12 year old daughter is traumatised, this experience will stay with her forever, people that should be trusted lied to our faces. Also, I have only just managed to get a response for my complaint too and that's just an acknowledgement that they will look into the matter.
Please do not take your child here.
Prices significantly higher than their advertised prices
I made an enquiry for gastric bypass surgery. The price list published on their website states the cost of surgery is £10,200. When they responded to my enquiry, I was given a price of £12,531. I questioned this as it differs greatly from the price advertised on their website. Was given an apology that the website was incorrect and in the process of being updated. I have checked back two weeks later and the website is still showing the lower price. Untrustworthy business practices from a company we are expected to trust with our health.
Incompetence Personified
For the second time this year an appointment was rescheduled without any prior notification. Time, effort and expense squandered because this institution's scheduling systems are sub-par.
Hearing the well trodden phrase, "…all we can do is apologise" is both frustrating and untrue. What Ramsay healthcare can do is fix the underlying problem and, when they have previously acknowledged that the scheduling system is failing, perform manual checks to make sure they are not putting their patients out any more than is strictly necessary.
This unprofessional nonsense - coupled to an unwillingness to fix it - does make one question what the overall standard of care is given they seemingly cannot get the basics right.
The low score here on TrustPilot - and the lack of a response to my previous complaint - would seem to suggest Ramsay HealthCare are concerned about one thing and one thing only ... and it's not their patients.
I've informed the CQC, perhaps others should consider doing likewise.
Poor.

Felt Like a Business Transaction, Not Healthcare
After being discharged from the NHS following spinal surgeries with little to no meaningful aftercare, I turned to Ramsey Healthcare UK hoping to finally receive proper support and treatment. Unfortunately, my experience was deeply disappointing.
I spent close to £4,000 and made virtually no progress. Rather than receiving coordinated care or genuine solutions, I felt like I was being passed from one referral to another within a network of associated specialists, with very little accountability or outcome-focused treatment.
The entire process felt far more commercial than clinical. At a time when patients are vulnerable and looking for help, there should be far more transparency, continuity of care, and genuine commitment to patient outcomes.
Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to think carefully before spending significant amounts of money here.
Attended the hospital for a procedure…
Attended the hospital for a procedure funded by the NHS.
The hospital wanted to conduct another procedure as well, which 2 NHS hospitals have not conducted due to the fact that the procedure would be pointless and not achieve anything.
I queried the extra procedure, asking if the hospital only wanted to conduct the procedure, so they could bill the NHS?
The Consultant then got defensive, and asked if I would like to be referred back to the NHS.
Takes quite a bit to get 95 0ne Star…
It takes quite a bit to get 95 0ne star reviews, out of 169 in total!
As far as my experience goes, to Ramsay, you are a piece of meat with a price tag on.
Once they've got your money, they do the least possible, and then move on.
A rushed consultation, an expensive Op, and, bar one exceptional Nurse, a less than satisfactory Hospital stay, and "we don't bother with Follow Ups" was what I was told post op, when it became clear that the pain issues had not been addressed.
Now back to waiting on the NHS - if I'd not had the "diversion" to Ramsay, I could have got onto that quicker.
Avoid them like the plague is my advice.
The staff are so polite and helpful
The staff are so polite and helpful. The hospital is immaculate.
This is the 2nd operation I have had there and nothing could be better in any department.

Minimal nursing care
Recently had a hip replacement done at Fitzwilliam Hospital in Peterborough . I am a 72 year old senior retired nurse and was a NHS patient . The consultants were excellent but following the surgery the surgeon did not visit me again . In the hours following surgery I was in desperate need of the toilet but had to wait twenty one minutes for a response to the bell . No nurse responded but a physiotherapist came and assured me a nurse would come . They did not come and I was not able to reach the toilet ; I felt degraded and ashamed. Still no nurse came. Over the three days following I was not offered a wash . The room was not well cleaned: a cotton bud on the floor at my arrival was still there when I left . The physio did not follow the protocols set out in the printed information on the follow up to the operation and it was only on Day Two that the physio visited and this was only to get me out of bed. On Day Three the physio was rude and abrupt .
My overall experience of care was very poor indeed.

Torquay Ramsay mount stuart private…
Torquay Ramsay mount stuart private hosp allowed their staff -one secretary & PA to manager to be v v intimidating & rude to a 78 year old lady after she asked for a non muslim radiographer due to her jewish origins on advice from Ml5 yet did nt offer a chaperone ! She requested one but again hysterical nasty rude behaviour from staff who have no manners /kindness /courtesy & should be sacked as freedom of expression here in uk a hardwon thing after fighting Hitler & Stalin ! Yet instead of reeducating staff offenders they have banned her thus breaking uk law! If staff had been well mannered they should have offered a chaperone and appologised. My friend has been treated wrongly as the rude offender .In an incident that should never have happened with kind good mannered staff! Now the inconvenience of losing the nearest private & 2 thirds nhs is extra insulting when in pain & what used to be a good mannered kind hosp now v v nhs bad mannered esp in the car park- rude & inconsiderate to an good customer of 30yrs -staff good manners to all customers is v v important &discipline& training to achieve this so a chaperone to all ladies should be offered.
Medicine for profit
After the second fees increase this year I can no longer afford to see my psychologist.
Dr Owen samuels now charges me $455 for 15 min. My 2 options are access my medication through illegal channels, or go without. Absolutely scum of the earth, I have to spend $1800 a year before I can even access my medication
I wish I'd taken a look at the reviews…
I wish I'd taken a look at the reviews before I tried to book an appointment. It may have made me look a little deeper before I Wasted hours of time trying to book an appointment, only to be told at the last minute that Ramsey don't treat under 18's (aside from 2 sites). Had they made it clear at the start or even, here's an idea, put it on their website, we wouldn't have wasted hours and taken a day off work. I suppose if this is how they approach things, then I guess it's a lucky escape. I don't know who the charlatan at the top is but I can only assume that they're a career grifter if they don't think it’s worth pointing out that they refuse to treat children in 95% of their sites.
Had to cancel a hospital appointment on…
Had to cancel a hospital appointment on the day due to 90 year-old patient feeling unwell. Rang the hospital, no response, so sent a text to the number given. No response. Rang again, hung on and was then cut off by them. Texted again asking for an acknowledgement of my texts, no response.
Hopeless. Don't know how to proceed now. Very poor patient care.
Couldn’t have asked for a better physiotherapist
I was a NHS patient at the Berkshire independent hospital in Reading that is a Ramsay healthcare provider. I’ve had operations on both my shoulders within a year of each other. The staff there were lovely and very attentive. Thank goodness both ops were successful and of course followed up with physio. It’s my physiotherapist that’s prompted me to leave a review. Hannah, has been amazing
so approachable and took the time to show me each action needed and explained which area of my shoulders the exercise was targeted.
I truly believe this is why I’ve made fantastic progress ahead of schedule. So thank you Hannah I hope you get the recognition you deserve so again thank you

My experience was with Tyler ( NEC) on the telephone as my first port of call re my painful knee. Tyler took copious notes, read them back to me, researched the appropriate knee specialists and all whilst being considerate, professional, polite, caring, assiduous and efficient. This gave a marvellous first impression of Ramsay Health and I thank him.
