Every year at renewal I have to phone…

Every year at renewal I have to phone and object to my accident record is showing a claim in 2021 which is wrong, I had actually reported that someone had damaged my car while I was in a shop ,at no stage did I make a claim or recieve anything from my insurance company, I completely looked after the damage myself. The claims record company have sent me e mails confirming my position which you have a copy of. I would be grateful if you would remove reference to it from my record, Thankyou B Pendlebury.

The worst experience getting insurance…

The worst experience getting insurance in my life. The AI is terrible on the help page and trying to speak to a human next to impossible. A barrage on emails and administration - they quote a low price then jack it up - you can't call them to speak to a human

Watch your debit card date or it will cost you a £25 fine.

My car insurance auto renewed and I was happy with that however as my bank card had just been renewed the RAC fined me £25 for non payment. Various other companies over the years have just pointed out the error with no drama or charges. I will be going elsewhere next year, probably cheaper too as I hadn’t changed from the RAC for years.

Avoid

The questions on their web site for additional drivers are grammatically incorrect. So they charge you for the change, potentially allow 'uninsured' additional drivers to drive uninsured, and then charge you again for removing the additional driver. Speaking to their 'advisors' on the chat line was a waste of time and only added to the frustration. I was not able to speak with a manager and I will certainly be looking elsewhere at renewal time. Shame - been with them for more years than I can remember. Avoid - they've changed over the years!!!

Underhand tactics to squeeze extra money out of you

I am about to part-exchange my car, when I looked into changing the vehicle on my policy they were very conveniently "not able to provide a quote for this request" - no further details or explanation provided.

They were quite happy to instead offer me a whole new policy for a price several hundred more expensive than what I could find on a price comparison website - even with RAC! This quote included a £45 "intermediary services fee".

So instead I have been lumped with paying a cancellation fee of £45 for my current policy and I will take out a new policy with a different provider.

EDIT (for clarity since the response has completely glossed over the middle paragraph). The policy being offered by the agent was for £705, but when I sourced my own quote it came out at £507. Admittedly there will be differences in the details, but I don't believe I was offered a reasonable option by the agent.
