Very bad customer service and not…
Very bad customer service and not bothered to solve any type of issue by dodging the customer with the same reason
Can you give a -10 review of Citi visa…
Can you give a -10 review of Citi visa and Mastercard? If so that is Mt rating for a company that has its representative provide false information
Citi's computer system is programed in such a way that false information is given that a payment was not received when in fact is was received before the cut off date. This has happened twice. It appeases this is deliberate. I have been told payments are electronically processed, even on weekends, but the representatives will tell your payment was not received, then you make another payment to cover what may be a lost payment, then discover they had the original and then refuse to reimburse the second one, applying it to an account even with an outstanding credit history...no reason to keep the second payment when you haven't even been billed. They just did this with my Citi visa account with Costco. This, and some questionable quality issues with Costco recently means the account needs to be reevaluated.
Citi Doesn't Care About Supporting It's Customers
I have a credit card with Citi, and it was blocked by fraud prevention. So they told me to call their support to get it unblocked. I spent a lot of time going through their automated system with broken and distorted audio, only to be routed to their fraud prevention department. When I get there I get a message that they are having technical difficulties and to call back in a few hours. That's been the same message for the last few hours. If I use their help chatbot it tells me it doens't understand my question and then offers instead to give me information on my card balance. After a while of chatting with it and it telling me it can only help me with meaningless things that I could easily find on the website, it says it will connect me with a representative and then nothing happens. If I call Citi customer service automated system and ask for customer service, it tries to force me to use the automated system and direct me back to the broken fraud prevention line. So if I can finally get the automated system to send me to general help, it just hangs up the phone on me. Citi offers no other methods of contact on their website because they don't want to pay for human customer support, and they don't want to pay for an automated customer support that is more advanced then they were in the year 2000. Citi doesn't care at all about it's customers.
Citi is a great company offering an array of services
Citi is a great company who always help their customers. When I call with questions I am greeted by name and any questions I may have are always answered professionally and accurately. Citi has a lot of services and have great rates on their services. I know that they stand behind the customers. I trust them entirely.
customer service doesn't understand their own system
As a longstanding Citi credit card customer, but new wealth and banking customer, I was suddenly locked out of online access until I could enter my (new) bank account information, which never arrived (by mail, of course; this is 21st-century banking). Contacting their Private Client service, they told me they couldn't do anything and transferred me to the Banking services, who proceeded to tell me that (1) I had no accounts, then ended the call. Followed by a second call that suggested (2) only Private Client services could fix it.
They closed my CC instead of freezing…
They closed my CC instead of freezing it. Then I lost about 20,000 thank you points which I can transfer to a hotel or an airline.
Vendor refunded $16,997 to my Citi card…
Vendor refunded $16,997 to my Citi card on March 18, 2024. I contacted Citi to transfer the funds to my checking account. Was told the refund needed to be "reviewed and approved" and then 3-4 days to complete. Several calls later, I finally got my money back on April 9, 2024. Funny how they can transfer my payments out of my account in 1 day, but getting a refund back into my account takes 20+ days.
The Citi bank Costco card web site is…lousy
The Citi bank Costco card web site is certainly NOT user friendly. All I wanted to do was to set for paperless statements. All I got was extreme aggravation. I gave up after 45 minutes of frustration! Did not have any problems setting up paperless with Discover card. Citi bank can take their credit card and put it where the sun doesn't shine. I'll stick with Discover Card.
Always sides with dishonest merchants, I'am switching to another bank.
On Jan 5th I got a charge on my CC.
Explained to Citi the reason for not renewing: With very few exceptions... that service sends 5 messages with BUY ratings and 5 messages with sell ratings (for the same stock, again and again)
I let the first year go by and the same day of Renewal I told them to please cancel, I called my CC (Citi) and told them to reverse that charge.
Citi (MY CC bank) company decided that even though I reversed the charge THE EXACT DAY of the transaction, I was 'RESPONSIBLE' and they FORCED TO BUY such useless service.
To add insult to financial injury... I was forced to accept their service at $239 per year of BUY-SELL ambiguous contradictions and: I CANNOT EVEN LOGIN because Seek...al...pha CHARGED ME A FULL YEAR, yet, cancelled my FORCED premium service.
No service, no money, no access and CITI basically tells you that or you have no rights when charged for a useless service, or you are owned by their business buddies.
Honest suggestion: Steer clear!
AM...ex is a much better CC, will dump this one (sad after 20 years)
HORRIBLE customer service
Horrible customer service. Do not go near this bank. All representatives have no knowledge to help. You will get transfer around and at the end you will have no results.
Mortgage department is the worse. I have spoken with seven different agents and I have gotten seven different amount on closing costs. Even though I have a gold status with this bank, it is all a marketing scam. Please stay away. No one will support you.
AWFUL...
I bought a computer from Best Buy and…
I bought a computer from Best Buy and used credit for it. Customer service assured me during the credit order that I would definitely not pay interest and would pay a fixed $250 each month. There were no issues in the first two months, and I made the payments. Later, I started receiving constant emails reminding me to make the payment. Thinking that it wouldn't be a problem due to my automatic payment setup, I ignored them. When the emails continued, I checked my account. As usual, I had to deal with the terrible website and change my password. After logging in, I saw they had charged $65 in interest. When I called customer service, they said the product I purchased wasn't a promotional item. They offered to make it promotional if I wanted. So, do I have to call again next month to check if the product is promotional? Moreover, my credit score has suffered because of this. I am incredibly regretful. I will never deal with Citibank's credit cards or loans again.
Terrible experience both online and on phone
Tried to log onto my accounts. Rejected my password that I have used for +1 year. Pop-up said I need to reset it. Followed instructions and the screen froze up - tried three times. Called customer service. A long wait, then a bad connection making it difficult to understand the CSR. Told me there is nothing she can do to help. Suggested that I either keep trying online or call Citi digital services support.
Nitwits
Citi invited me to apply for a credit card; even though my credit rating is 761 and I'm using about 4% of my available credit, Citi proceeded to deny my application. Four days after I received a letter confirming the denial, Citi sent me the same invitation to apply for the same credit card it had just denied me. The only way to get it to stop is to opt out of any and all offers of credit; I fully expect to receive this same solicitation from Citi at least every two weeks from here on out.
Citi Cards provide no protections to cardholders.
I made a sizable purchase from Watch Rsppirt on 9/2/23.
When the watch didn't arrive six weeks later and the company couldn't tell when it would, I requested a refund on 10/17/23 and filed a dispute with Citi Cards. Citi issued a conditional refund.
Ten days later, Watch Rapport informed me that my order had been canceled and that they would refund my credit card. When I did not receive the refund in a couple of weeks, I contacted the company again and was was told that they were experiencing a systems failure. A couple of weeks after that, I complained again, and they informed me that the refund had been made, but if I didn't receive it on my Citi Mastercard, I should file a dispute and Watch Rapport would not challenge it
Today is 12/20/23. Nearly four months after the initial purchase and more than two months after they promised a refund, I still haven't receive the money.
Said to say, Citi Bank has clawed back the funds. Each time I call their dispute team I get a sympathetic response and an assurance that they will send a message on my behalf to the "investigator." To date, there has been no further outreach from Citi except their notification that they were once again charging my card for the full amount of the original purchase. To date, I have forwarded documentation of all of my contact with Watch Rsppirt along with that company's assurance that they would refund my money and not chsllenge this dispute.
I am at a loss for what more I can do. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Citibank Home Depot Credit Card…
Their Citibank Home Depot Credit Card IT system is terrible!!!! I was transferred to three different operators and had to repeat all of my information EVERY time. On top of that, their customer service is horrible!! I had trouble just creating an account to PAY MY BILL and their operators could not even help with that. The interest rate is ridiculous and this type of account is simply NOT worth it. Steer clear of this!!!!
On top of that, they use an Indian call center and I could not understand HALF of the 6 operators I spoke with. (Oops, make that 7 and counting!)
CITI Costco Visa Treats customers badly!
Citi sucks! They treat customers like crap. I have the Citi Costco Visa card, which is the exclusive card of Costco. Costco is a great company that treats customers well. But, for some reason, Costco made a HUGE mistake with their credit card partner. They switched several years ago from American Express, which was fine, to CITI, which is a terrible and greedy company that has unfair and unfriendly practices toward customers. They have unreasonably short time periods to pay the bill, and charge outrageous fees and interest if you're even a couple days late. I didn't receive my paper statement, they charged outrageous and unfair interest charges on a relatively low balance that was only a couple days late in paying. They refused to waive the fees. Horrible service. I am stuck with these jerks because Costco only partners with one credit card. Costco, if you are listening, please choose a different company than Citi to do the member credit card. There are so many companies that are better than Citi. Capital One is great. American Express is great. Wells Fargo, Chase, Synchrony are all much better than Citi.
CITI refund check BOUNCED
7/10/23 Macy's gave me a REFUND of $1874.91 on a defective product.
8/10/23 Amount is credited to my Macys card which is actually a CITIBANK credit card. I call to get cash refund and requested bank transfer, provided bank routing and account number, told to call back next day to confirm.
8/11/23 Call and told no transfer made, check issued from Citi.com
8/17/23 I receive and deposit Check
8/22/23 Macy's Citi department put stop payment on check.
8/23/23 Macy's Citi customer service representative says money was transferred to my account on the 21st.
8/25/23 There is no deposit. Macy's Citi customer service supervisor asks me to have bank fax to Citibank (513-573-2234) confirmation of bounced check.
8/29/23 Call Macy's Citi: no deposit to my account; customer service rep sends email that bank transfer was requested again on 29th. Escalated to supervisor who says she has to review it.
8/30/23 Supervisor calls me back, says Macys/CITI does not have confirmation of the funds being returned to Macys' account. Instructs me to have my bank send an email to macysdisputes at citi.com confirming that the check was not deposited and that the stop payment was honored.
9/1/23. I speak to rep at Affinity Federal Credit Union to request the email to Citi. Because of Monday holiday, suggests I check back on 9/6
9/7/23 Affinity confirms email sent to macysdisputes at citi.com on 9/5/23.
9/7/23. 1:30p to 3:10pm: Macy's customer service rep tells me the money was transferred to my bank account on the 21st, the same answer I received on the 29th. The rep has to send it to a specialist to review. I asked for a supervisor who told me that I stopped the check because I wanted it transferred.
I asked for a Manager who told me she had to send it to the specialists to look at. I asked for her manager or the name of the head of department and was told I couldn't speak to anyone above her and she couldn't give me the 'personal information' of the person in charge of refunds or customer service.
This whole process started in June. I have tried calling CITI who does not connect me to anyone since I do not have a direct contact with them. They direct me to the REFUND department at Macy's that handles all the CITI credit cards....and they give me the run around. This has been reported to the state Division of Consumer Affairs, posted on FairShake and TrustPilot. My next move will be to contact the Office of Senior Services: feels like FRAUD to me.
I had five fraudulent charges within…
I had five fraudulent charges within two days and thee different states. I found them, not Citi. It has taken numerous calls, faxes, arguments and almost two months and two new credit cards to get a “temporary” credit. Absolutely the worst credit card.
They have no customer service…
They have no customer service whatsoever during the weekends, and NO LIVE BRANCH OFFICES IN THE ENTIRE STATE OF WA, AND THEIR SYSTEM UPDATES ARE WHEN I TRY TO ACCESS THE ACCOUNT ONLINE. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CITI.. ESPECIALLY COSTCO.
STAY AWAY FROM THEIR "REWARDS" CREDIT…
STAY AWAY FROM THEIR "REWARDS" CREDIT CARDS!! They have manipulated the rewards to the point you LOSE points/money when you try and collect the awards you have earned. Their managers feel they are clever in changing the award collection process into a real mess.
