Bait & Switch, beware. Exhibits no integrity, Not trustworthy

Called to get rates, gave them all of my info but no rate. Was told they can't give me a rate until pulling my credit. Credit pulled, then another excuse said I have to fill out an application to get rates. Filled out application. Guess what? Another problem, saying I have to supplied W2, pay stubs...etc. Basically wanting a complete application packet. I'm not applying. Lied to me from day 1. After 2 weeks I still haven't gotten a single rate and fees completely. Kevin Y says can't give me a rate until my rate is locked. WHAT?? How do I lock the rate if I don't even know the rates and closing costs? Let me lock the rates so I can know the rate?? Ridiculous.

Bait and switch tactic. Do not trust companies doing that.

Refinance

Refinance: Started out great, offered a competitive rate and terms. Initial representative was attentive and helpful. Then it went to the supervisor who wanted to add a bunch of conditions to the deal after-the-fact even though the appraisal was worth double what I currently owe. Two months and $600 of my life I’ll never get back. Two stars because the employee was honest and helpful. Once it comes to the finalizing the deal, they move the goal post. Dude even seemed to get mad at me for refusing to agree to changed terms like I was the one doing it. Waste time of time and money. Rocket mortgage is much better.

I was charged twice, refund process is horrible!

I was charged twice for my monthly mortgage, two payments were deducted on my bank account. When I requested for a refund I was told I need to pay $15 so I can receive it in 2-3 days for wire transfer, otherwise if I will not pay I will need to wait for 7-10 days for the check to be mailed. So because I need the money I agreed for $15 but then it's been a week still has not received the refund. Followed up several times now they are telling me they refunded it to an account not the same name where they deducted it so my bank refused it. They have my bank information where they usually charges me now they refunded it to a different account name without confirming it first with me. So frustrating and disappointed,

Mortgage Refinance

I chose New American Funding for my home refinance because their interest rates are very competitive. They beat out a well known lender. But what was really a pleasant surprise was the level of customer service. Top notch in my book. My loan officer answered all my questions and kept me informed throughout the entire process.

Fast and as pain free as one can expect…

Fast and as pain free as one can expect for a refinancing experience. It can be frustrating with all the paperwork and uncertainty with all companies that cloud the process - but our loan officer at New American Funding did a great job, was very up front with all the details, and kept everything on track for quick processing.

#NAFbestinthebiz

Having purchased 11 homes over the past 38 years, my most recent experience with New American Finding was extraordinary. The process was simple, clear, clean and highly professional with a strong approach to personal service. I feel appreciated, respected and valued as a client and human and in todays world, you can't ask for much more than that. #bestinthebiz

Great experience

I found this and some other companies through an online service with a good rating. I was rejected because of debt/income ratio by one company after nearly coming to a deal to refinance. I was going to give up, but New American Funding contacted me and after going through everything found that I was a good risk despite what the other company thought. Sean Alexander was knowledgeable, realistic and guided me through the whole process with clear information. He did not promise what he could not, but was hopeful and honest. I was able to refinance and save a lot. I am happy with the experience.

River made our refinance process so…

River made our refinance process so much easier and pleasant than I could have expected. I had tried to refinance with Bank of America and Wells Fargo (where I am already a long time customer of both) and found the process so frustrating I gave up. River made the process easy and we got a much better rate! 10/10 recommend.

Only company we will ever choose!!

The representative that we had was Wayne Leonard and our experience with him was exceptional!!! He was able to lay out all of our options for us and gave us detailed information every step of the way! We were told by Bank of America, that we weren't able to refinance, but New American Funding was able to get us a 2 percent lower interest rate and able to cash out $30,000. We are beyond grateful for our experience with New American Funding and Wayne Leonard! We recommend them 10000%!!!

Matt Brown transcends GREAT

Matt Brown transcends GREAT. From the moment I first spoke with Matt, it was like I was talking to a really good, lifelong friend. Matt is, without a doubt, the most personable and professional individual I’ve dealt with in a very long time. Matt’s proven background in finance combined with his over indexing people skills makes him a tremendous asset to any business. At the risk of sounding cliche’, if you had more “Matt Browns” at your company, you would be unstoppable. Thanks Matt!

Worked with Jorge Meza, very responsive, helpful and patient. Made sure I got my discount.
Overall, New American did a nice job and was significantly cheaper than Quicken Loans.

They got me done when another bank said no!

They got me done when another bank said that they couldn't, so that's a positive. Long story short, I had a deal on the table with another bank that fell through at the 11th hour. Rayan at New American Funding was able to get the loan done. Was it smooth? Not so much.

My issue is the appraisal. With the previous deal that fell through, my home was appraised 23K higher than the apparial I received from New American Funding. The person they selected has an office out in the country 25 miles from my home and does not know the city of Indianapolis. On top of that, he had factual errors that negatively impacted my appraisal. My home is a 3 bedroom and he appraised it as a 2 bedroom. When asked to revisit his appraisal, he added a measly 2K to the appraisal. What???!!! Since when is the price difference of a 3 bedroom home and a 2 bedroom home 2k when the industry standard is 15-20k? The guy was a Trumpy creep that didn't want to admit he was way off.

Instead of going to bat for me, the loan officer agreed with the appraiser. Really?!!! Despite having another appraisal that was less than 45 days old that said it was worth 23k more? The bottom line is that I don't feel that the appraiser was properly selected. It was an FHA loan and the FHA maintains an approved appraiser list you can find online. Guess what, he is listed as approved for the county his business is in 25 miles away but he is NOT on the list for my county. I repeat, the FHA did NOT recommend him as an appraiser for my county or the city of Indianapolis. I wonder why??!!! Probably because he does not know the city. Worse of all is that I had to pay this creep $500 for the privilege of getting my home and loan under-valued.

The second problem was Rayan siding with him even after I wrote her a lengthy note explaining in great detail why my home value needs to revisited. Where is Rayan? In Arizona maybe or California, I forget which. In any case, she is far from Indianapolis and does not know a lick about my very desirable neighborhood in the city. Neither did the appraiser. Despite being provided the spot-on appraisal from my previous loan application with the other bank she supported the opinion of this guy from up-country. After this Rayan became harder to get a hold of and emails and messages sometimes went without a response or were responded to many hours later at the end of the day. I can tell you that when she was after my business this was not the case. I know that I could have started all over with another bank, but I honestly didn't have the time or energy to put in that direction. In the end I settled for less just to be done with this painful process. Am I happy that I got it done? To a degree. I needed a bit more cash out and refinancing is expensive, so I'm disappointed that Rayan sided with this know-nothing appraiser when she had evidence to the contrary in her hand. I figure she thought I would take it or leave it. Well, I took it but was not thrilled. If it wasn't for this bad appraisal, this transaction would have been great.
