I’ve had a number of CV writers work on mine and frankly I’ve not been satisfied so I was sceptical at first although as I had built a rapport with the business owner I thought I’d give it another go.
The process required me to spend a couple of hours really thinking about the questions I was asked which really helped me put my own achievements into better context and how they would be attractive to an employer. I come from a successful entrepreneurial background that I recently exited. After a long think I decided to move back into corporate. I know a CV is important but I did not fathom quite how much. Recruitment agencies not only have a set of rules given to them by the company that retains them for an open position but they also have an automated system that scans all cv’s and boots them if you do not follow their in-house rules, so I knew I needed help as I am focusing on C-suit.

Honestly, I don't think my CV is better than before, just different. CV's, as I have learned, are all about personal preference - at least from a human perspective. Then there's the ATS systems that big companies use to filter out the applications, it's fair to say that whilst my new CV is better at ATS formatting, I still have to do the work each time to tailor my application. So, a good effort by the team, and probably very helpful for those who have an average CV today.
