WARNING - BATTERY FAILS ON SMART PEN !!!!

WARNING - Battery failure on smart pen. So the smart pen of the smart writing system stopped charging. Did a hard reset and software update but still not working. Contacted Moleskine customer service I explained the pen was just out of warranty but they would NOT send a replacement and the only option would be to buy a whole new smart writing set. I do not need a book, cable etc only a pen but they were unwilling to accommodate this request. I asked if I could change the battery but the answer came back NO you have to buy a whole new set. I am concerned this fault will happen again hence the review and to warn all to contact customer service to change your pen before the warranty runs out as all batteries eventually fail or even better do NOT buy from them. Terrible customer service and poor product design and quality which will eventually fail and cost you money. You have been warned do NOT buy.

Moleskin Kaweco Ball Point Pen

A nice looking pen but terrible to write with. The ink breaks all the time - no smoothness -and it’s not cheap. I spent a lot in the shop and the sample pen worked well. I’ve been meaning to take it back but it’s a lot of hassle. In short down buy one. Moleskine for paper not for hardware. They are not known for their quality of pens - I should have known better 🤦🏻‍♂️

Ordered a leather rucsack online

Ordered a leather rucsack online. Realised as soon as it arrived it was too small for my use. Wanted to exchange for one of the bigger sizes but was told I had to return and then re-order. Wasn't allowed to return at one of the London stores, so had to post recorded delivery back to Italy at my cost which was £50! The rucsack cost £135. Have since spent a huge amount of time chasing my return with customer services to be told its stuck with customs and they have no idea when it will be released. Hugely disappointed in what is a high end retailer with a very very low end returns/exchange system. Never again!

Great Customer Service & Excellent Products

My order was delayed, but Moleskine's customer service was great. They handled it with care, sent a replacement at their own expense, and offered me a generous discount promo code. Turned a troubled situation into a positive experience. Beyond customer service, the products are excellent. I've bought 3 backpacks over the last decade and have been very satisfied. Design is excellent, and materials are of very high quality.

Crying because they changed the layout of their “Classic 12 Month 2026 Weekly Planner, Pocket“
Saturday and Sunday now share a line??
The 2 biggest days of the week are now squashed into one and I can’t fit any of my weekend plans in there.
I don’t get it?
I loved my ‘25 planner….

If I could give them 0 stars, I would.
I ordered a 2026 planner on December 30, 2025, and two weeks later, I still haven’t received a single update about my order. (The order email said it would be shipped in TWO DAYS - what a joke.)

I contacted customer service twice through their online “Contact Us” form—on January 3 and again on January 8—but I never received a reply. No update, no acknowledgment, nothing at all.

Out of desperation, I even reached out to them on Instagram. To my surprise, they responded within 6 hours asking for my order details, name, and email. I provided everything immediately… and then, radio silence again.

This lack of communication and customer support is unacceptable. I will not be ordering from them again.

I assumed ordering directly from their website would be safe since they seemed reputable, but I should have checked Trustpilot first. This is by far the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered—in fact, I haven’t experienced any customer service, because they would actually have to respond for that.

At the speed they are going, I'll have my 2026 planner in 2027.

Horrible Company with Horrible Customer Service

I ordered 2 customized planners. I paid extra for the customization as well I chose to pay extra for fast shipping so it arrived before Christmas. I received an email stating both products shipped pretty quickly. When the package arrived only one customized planner was inside. I immediately reached out to customer service explaining I only received one notebook but the shipping email stated both were being sent. They responded quickly stating I had to fill out a form and send it back to receive a refund. I though what? I do not even get the product I ordered and paid for? Even though I felt that was ridiculous and a lot to fill out a form to get to a resolution I did fill out the form and send it back. They will not respond to any of my messages and they have not refunded my money or sent me the missing product. I am so disappointed. I will never order from this company again. Beware before ordering if anything is wrong with your order you will not receive the product or your money back! Horrible company with horrible customer service!

I have purchased Moleskine 12 Month…

I have purchased Moleskine 12 Month Notebooks for several years, usually in late November, as gifts. This past November (last Month), I went to their confusing website to reorder exactly what I had ordered in the past, but could not find it. I picked what I thought was correct and paid $57.00 for what was $37. When it arrived it was much heavier and no where near what I was happy with in the past. Not able to phone so I went the email route, back and forth for several days. Totally disinterested in my issue and denied they had sent the wrong product, and they said it was exactly what they sent a year ago. I decided to try Barnes and Noble for Moleskine but found an American Made product, with a phone number if needed, and bought it. A superior product, model number and contact info inside and a better price. Forget Moleskine and their CCP products, look for Paper Source.com at your local bookstore.

Extremely disappointing support experience despite a clear hardware defect

I purchased the Moleskine Smart Pen (model NWP-F130) and received a unit with an obvious malfunction:
the pen immediately shuts off as soon as it is disconnected from the USB cable and cannot be powered on independently.
This makes normal use impossible.

Although I submitted several videos clearly showing the issue, I was drawn into a support loop of over 30 emails, where I was repeatedly asked to perform tests that are technically impossible because the device does not stay powered on.
Instead of acknowledging the clearly documented defect or escalating the case to warranty or quality management, the same requests were repeated again and again.

As someone who has used Moleskine products both personally and professionally, this was extremely disappointing and far below what I expect from a premium brand.
A reproducible hardware failure should not result in such a long and unproductive support process.

Based on this case, I cannot recommend the Smart Pen.

Yet another disappointed customer of a company that genuinely doesn’t care what its customers think or experience. Bought a pen online on 20/8. It still isn’t here and the customer service team are ignoring my messages. I will as a result never go into their stores again either.

Sad future for Moleskine

Dear Moleskine,

From a once faithful and loving supporter and customer of Moleskine...

I have tried Arc browser, Safari and then downloaded and used Chrome, just to buy a Moleskine notebook.
Nothing worked. I’m on a Mac. I seriously suggest you contact the IT department, this is not acceptable.

The error happens where I try to save or continue when writing my address. Cannot continue from this point, the button doesn’t do anything. While all the fields are showing green.

Then I tried contacting via their web formula. Gave errors first time. Got a reply the second time. Which said they do not accept debit cards. Who is responsible for this insanity?

Even went to a physical book store, who told me that Moleskine only sells via their website now-a-days.
Feels like who-ever is in charge is trying to destroy the company or something…? If you're moving to a digital store only, you should make it possible to buy your products.

Sadly, this resulted in a one-star review on TrustPilot.

Ordered the Smart pen and notebook set

Ordered the Smart pen and notebook set, their website says they take returns. It was a hassle to get the smart pen charged and working and you can't find replacement pens. So decided to return. Customer service rep said it had to be unopened for a return. Unsure how the product is - but customer service is not good. Do not buy from their website.

Don't order online - Diaries arrive late or not at all

This company is absolutely hopeless at online business. If you love the diaries (like I do), buy them from a shop and not online. Moleskine can't seem to deliver to the UK in less than a month, their customer service people rarely respond to queries and when they do, they fob you off with incorrect information. I don't understand why this company seeks to damage the brand of their fundamentally good product with such a terrible online service. If the product was rubbish I wouldn't bother writing this review because I wouldn't care, but the diaries are actually great and this makes it incredibly annoying that it feels like I've been ripped off just because I ordered it online. I also feel like an idiot for doing it three years in a row, although for the last two years the diary actually turned up, after a lot of prodding. I'll buy a different diary next year - Goodbye forever, Moleskin - but am anticipating spending the next few months chasing a refund.

Piece of crap company

Piece of crap company. They treat customer like s. They have no way I can find to call. I bought app suit Moleskine (Timepage Membership) for $24.99 April 9, 2024 and as soon as I did it hit me I had tried before and didn't like so I minutes later IMMEDIATELY reached out to them on their customer f-u page and said I just bought for the year and have not used a few minutes ago will you please refund. I then reached out to Apple and asked them to ask for a refund considering I JUST bought. Moleskine NEVER BOTHERED to reply to my request. It's been a month. Today I called Apple to hear...they denied the refund. What complete a-holes. What money hungry pieces of __. Thy have their heads up their ---and don't care about their customers at all nor provide any customer service. They just want to use you to $$$ in. DO NOT BUY THEIR CRAP OR PUT UP WITH THEIR CRAP. Furious the way they treated me. With such contempt!

i cant believe i didnt read this. i decided to buy directly from moleskin website thinking id have more choice but should have ordered through amazon! no diary , no emial and no number to speak to anyone. finally let me submit a contact form but seeing these reviews im concerned... if i cant get a review i think we need to speak to moleskin suppliers to not sell an item from a company that is potentially fraudelent on line!!!

Never replied to queries

Never replied to queries! Waited two weeks for the item to arrive, tried to cancel before it was desptached… no response… tried to return… no response… messaged Facebook page… basically told me to post back to Italy at my own cost but I probably won’t get a refund… basically taken £40 and not delivered! Never again!

They do not refund the money

I have been waiting for several months for the refund of the money for an exchange. It's only announced in emails, but nothing happens. Very unreliable company. Dont't buy there! You should buy Moleskine products (which are good) in serious shops, not at moleskine.com-

Very disappointed

Very disappointed! I love moleskine and every year I buy a daily diary limited edition as lucky charm for my year. This year there are no limited editions, it is so hard to think that a company with this importance is kind of letting down their clients. I am very sad to see that I am looking to find another diary brand after more than 20 years of loyalty.
