I joined a series of free workshops by Gabor Mate and others. They were profound and moving at the same time as creating space for Mentorshow to invite people into their longer paid program. The sessi... See more

Like many I took out a subscription to mentors how at $399 as I have complex PTSD. I started a course, but found it unhelpful. Just videos albeit from famous therapists, which might help some, but it is not much more than a rehash of their books. The course offers coaching, which attracted me, but I realized what they called coaching was live group video sessions with strangers. This is not coaching, which is one to one. I did the first few hours of a course in November last year. but it wasn't what I needed so I didn't do any more. I recognized that my subscription was ending and I tried to go online and sign in to their app but my sign in was rejected and as a result I thought that the subscription had just terminated. To be sure I asked for a callback from them on 26 September 2026, but no-one contacted me. Then today I found they have taken $1200 from my credit card. I feel utterly traumatized. I am having panic attacks. I have no job. I cannot afford this. And, looking at these reviews it seems that they have every intention of not refunding money in case like this. This seems utterly wrong. People who sign up for this service are often vulnerable. The hard sell promises much, but doesn't really deliver any therapy. And then they steal money from vulnerable people and refuse to refund it. It is shocking. Further information on this.... Mentorshow claim that they contact everyone with a renewal reminder, I have checked my email account there is no renewal reminder.
I am deeply disappointed by MentorShow. I contracted full one-year access to the platform through a 3-installment payment plan for a total amount of 718,71.
I have Princia´s mails confirming the agreement. She was so helpful that I even left a highly positive 5-star review about her here on Trustpilot.
However, it seems like the system has now glitched and support service is ghosting me. And the platform is attempting a fraudulent procedure:
• Unjustified Downgrade: Recent automated emails claim I cancelled my subscription (false) and state that my access to Mentorshow ends in December.
• Forced 4th Charge: The system has scheduled an unauthorized charge of 598 euros for December 26th, violating the 3-payment agreement written by Princia.
• Technical Block: The "Cancel" button on my billing page is blocked and non-functional. I have video proof of it.
I find highly unethical to use the image of respected mentors like Dr. Gabor Maté to attract users seeking learning and emotional support, only to subject them to these predatory billing traps.
I have already instructed my bank to block all future charges from MentorShow until this shameful situation is settled.
I demand that MentorShow contacts me immediately to restore my full one-year access and provide written confirmation that the unauthorized December 26th charge is canceled.
It’s a scam! How do they get away with this!!?
I got caught in their trap like many others it seems on here, after watching a free webinar with Gabor Mate. I was under the impression from that webinar I was buying Gabors course as a one off. I was not told at any point I was signing up to a subscription. I paid a “special offer” £400 for the course. All I received at the time was an invoice for that payment which doesn’t have any information on it that you have signed up to a subscription. I was then horrified to see they helped themselves to a £605 unauthorised payment yesterday. After contacting them today I was told they were sorry for “my surprise” at the payment and no refund would be given! I was also told I was emailed weeks before about the renewal and they attached an email I had not received or seen before! This is part of their scam it seems! This company pray on people with misleading subscription terms (basically not telling their customers they’ve signed up to subscription in the first place) and seem comfortable with tricking their customers into unauthorised renewals! This is illegal and fraud! What a horrible business model! I am now being ignored on email. I’m am going to go through every possible angle of reporting this company and warning as many people as I can to not also fall for their scam!
I joined last year and was really happy with the few seminars and workshops I attended teaching me how to calm myself when I get too worked up and understanding why and what triggers certain responses in me. I have an autoimmune disease so manage my stress levels is literally life saving for me. I think the actual platform is great and I understand why the likes of Gabor Mate promote it.
Tip to new joiners- make sure to set aside time every week to select the therapists you have access to and don’t just cruise along not doing anything because you’re overwhelmed by the sheer number of therapists you have available- because you’ll end up not doing anything in the end and not taking advantage of any of the therapist sessions- tbh my greatest regret.
I had a problem with the renewal process at the end of the year like many others but in my case everything was quickly and swiftly resolved so for me the customer service was great and very responsive to my concerns.
With all these other Apps we’re signing up to out there- honestly this one where you have live interaction and sometimes just videos of professionals talking about elements of our mind where you actually feel “seen”is a great investment.
Like so many others on this site, we stretched ourselves financially to purchase MentorShow as a needed gift for a family member last year at the $399 rate.
To now receive the shock $1200 renewal is a disgrace, to say the least.
We will contact Carla as mentioned by others to receive our 100% refund in the next week. Otherwise, we will be forced to move forward with legal proceedings.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
Aggressive marketing with promise of refund that they make exceptionally hard to obtain. They do not take into account the individual behind the subscription. As I was almost getting to the stage where I hoped to finally be refunded for an initial payment, I was billed almost 600€ for a further year’s subscription. For a platform purporting to support mental health and wellbeing, I have found the experience incredibly anxiety inducing. It has also caused me financial difficulty.
I do not recommend and think they need to review their business practices.

Like many others, I am deeply disappointed by Mentorshow’s business practices. On September 25, 2026, they automatically deducted $1,200 from my account without providing proper prior notice. Initially, I assumed I had simply missed their email regarding the subscription renewal—which I found strange, given that I regularly receive weekly updates from them about the program. Since I could not find any email—supposedly sent 40 days before the automatic renewal—in my inbox, I asked them to resend it. They replied that it had been sent as an automated system message and could not be resent manually. They refused a full refund, offering instead a free gift, and subsequently a partial refund of $602—all while completely ignoring the core issue: they send critical financial and contract renewal notifications via unreliable HubSpot marketing emails. Under EU law, a marketing email that is automatically filtered or blocked by email providers does not constitute valid prior notification for automatic bank charges. Although PayPal rejected my dispute, I insist on a full refund. I have now initiated a chargeback through my bank and contacted the European Consumer Centre directly. It is unacceptable and highly unethical for a company that sells trauma-healing programs to engage in such business practices—effectively re-traumatizing individuals and causing them significant psychological and financial distress. It is evident that a large number of people have suffered damages, yet MentorShow continues to persist in its unethical business practices.

MentorShow doesn’t practice what it preaches!
I was charged $1,200 for a renewal I didn't know was coming. I can't afford that, and I feel sick about it.
MentorShow sends a constant stream of emails, but somehow the one that mattered, the renewal notice, was buried among them. Their system can see I never opened those emails, yet they took the payment anyway. A company that talks so much about growth and doing right by people should make renewals clear and easy to opt out of, not hide them in a flood of marketing.
When I emailed to request refund immediately I was told no but that I can enjoy the service for the next year. Literally ended up in tears.
I am pretty sure that people like Gabor Matè and Marisa Peer would be horrified to have their work connected with a company that treats customers so poorly.
These subscription tactics feel designed to catch people out rather than treat them fairly. My own business is in positive psychology and wellbeing - ethics matter in this work. MentorShow are clearly putting profits over people.
Anxiety through the roof waiting for the response and refund.
UPDATE: it’s interesting that Carla has replied here as I’ve actually already emailed 7 more times with Carla’s email CC’d in and had no reply (I saw the other generic responses from Carla in other reviews similar to mine.) I’ve not had a reply to my emails. The only apology I’ll accept - is one that comes with a full refund.

My review is for MentorShow as a company and their policies and customer service.
I feel extremely disappointed and unhappy with my experience.
I feel that my situation was disregarded and handled without care and consideration. I was charged for a renewal before the date stated in the email notice I received. The time zones were not taken into account so I was misinformed. No time zones are specified for me to take into account to follow. Although they offer a half price renewal fee upon subscription cancellation, I was not offered any type of partial reimbursement despite my asking for consideration since I cannot afford the expense at this time.
Their employee used a patronizing tone during the email exchange. I found this to be unprofessional and very unpleasant. It is not something one would expect given the nature of the content that this business is selling.
Sadly, I am disappointed in the lack of empathy, consideration, and the apparent greed and priority to make money. I have not experienced any other company that refuses to cancel and refund subscriptions, especially when the charge occurred sooner then they indicated themselves in writing without indicating the time zone. Despite some of the great content, I will no longer recommend this business to others. I would rather send people directly to the mentors to avoid this type of treatment and negative experience.

Like many people here I have suffered the subscription scam that MentorShow deliberately and consciously operates. I have been exhausted in my efforts to try and receive a full refund of $1200 having paid $400 last year
Like many people here we were drawn in by Gabor Maté HEAL program, used it to various degrees and then didn't use any other content for 9months
In my subsequent complaints over the past 5 days I have been offered a free year pass for a friend which I declined and then 50% back which I have declined.
They deliberately refuse to answer any of the following points which form my case and may be of use to others experiencing similar agony in dealing with their "customer service" :
The way in which the renewal notification was presented is a particular concern.
The subject line, “Information about your membership”, did not clearly identify the email as an important notice concerning an imminent automatic renewal and a substantial charge. It gave no indication that my membership was about to renew (at a significantly higher price than I had originally paid).
Furthermore, the email begins with four consecutive promotional statements starting with “Thanks to you”, followed by additional marketing content about new masterclasses, mentors and the benefits of the platform. The renewal information appears much further down in the message, embedded within this promotional text rather than being clearly highlighted as the principal purpose of the email.
This is strategic and deliberate in my opinion
I viewed the email in preview mode and, given its generic subject line and promotional opening, I did not proceed to read the remainder of the message.
The impending $1,200 charge was therefore not brought to my attention in a way that prompted me to recognise the significance of the notice.
They were quick to respond with a Certificate of the email being sent by them!
I acknowledge that the renewal amount was included in the body of the email. However, I believe there is a material difference between technically including important billing information and presenting it clearly and prominently enough to draw the customer's attention to a substantial financial commitment.
In my view, good and fair practice would be to identify an imminent automatic renewal clearly in the subject line
and to place the renewal date, amount and cancellation options prominently at the beginning of the email, rather than embedding this information within predominantly promotional content filled with fake praise
I receive frequent promotional emails from MentorShow about its courses and masterclasses. In this context, the generic subject line did not alert me to the importance of opening this particular email or to the substantial charge that was about to be taken.
Other more reputable organisations use the subject line "Your Subscription is about to renew"
But they know this
I have also reviewed your published Terms and Conditions, including Article 12, which addresses the information to be provided in the pre-renewal notification. The email I received refers to unsubscribing through my account settings, but does not contain a direct cancellation link as described in those terms.
Please clarify this point and explain how you consider the notification complied with your published requirements.
Interestingly when I recently Unsubscribed for any further auto renewal in October 2027 I immediately received a very clear email with a prominent "button" direct link to "Resubscribe"
I have already written to you "Carla" and you haven't responded
As many others have written here it is a huge amount of money for most people
Their business practice and customer relations are an embarrassment to the professionals that make their content

The content was great. The charge for the program was a bait and switch scam.
During the free promotional part of the program we responded to an offer of recorded library access and programming with weekly coaching, was 240. We were double charged, so we asked for one of the charges to be removed. Then they cancelled the account program entirely. We wrote, and were told that we had paid for an "upgrade", so when we cancelled the upgrade we lost access. What?!?!There was no language such as this on any of the (many) promotional emails we received. " What I can offer is to charge only the difference between the $ 240 upgrade price already paid and the $399 Plus price , rather than asking you to pay the full $399 again." So a weeks worth of access for 240, and a bully fee to be reinstated.
The work of the presenters deserves more respect than this unethical "bait and switch":
Furthermore, the product intentionally targets people in search of mental and emotional healing from trauma. Not honoring the offer that was offered to this audience is appalling.

I have signed up for a trial period. They have neglected to send me an email reminder that my trial period is running out and I will be charged $149.99. I forgot that I haven't canceled the subscription.I have contacted them as soon as I noticed the money has gone out but they refused to refund the amount. I don't want the membership for that price I simply cannot afford it - I have explained this to them but now they are just ignoring my email and they are refusing to escalate my case to management. So if you are thinking about signing up for a trial just be aware

My experience with MentorShow has caused me enormous financial distress and anxiety.
Update – October 13, 2026
Following my original review, Carla from MentorShow responded publicly and offered to look into my case personally. I have contacted her directly and am waiting for her response.
I have also received a further email from MentorShow explaining their automatic renewal policy, but my request for a full refund of $1,200 has not yet been resolved.
This charge has caused me serious financial distress, and I am still hoping MentorShow will take my circumstances into account and offer a fair resolution.
I will update this review again when the matter has been resolved.
I signed up for MentorShow+ about a year ago at a promotional price. On October 11, 2026, I was faced with an annual renewal charge of $1,200. For someone with a limited income, this is an enormous amount of money. It is not a small, unexpected expense that I can simply absorb. It threatens my financial security and leaves me deeply worried about how I will manage my finances.
The stress this has caused me is difficult to describe. Instead of feeling that I can manage my everyday expenses, I am now facing the fear of being left with a substantial credit card debt that I may struggle to repay.
MentorShow says that a reminder email was sent to me on September 1. I have been unable to find this email and have asked the company to provide the full message so I can see exactly what was communicated. Although the original welcome email mentioned the $1,200 annual renewal price, I did not expect to find myself in this situation, and the financial consequences are devastating for me.
I cancelled my subscription on the renewal date and immediately requested a refund, explaining my financial circumstances and how seriously this charge affects me. So far, my request has not been accepted. I have had to contact my credit card provider and file a formal dispute.
What has hurt me most is feeling that my financial situation and distress have not been taken into account. I understand that companies have terms and conditions, but I believe there should also be room for fairness, compassion and responsible customer service when a charge of this magnitude causes someone such serious financial hardship.
I am not asking for special treatment without reason. I am asking MentorShow to reconsider this charge and refund the $1,200.
I am sharing my experience because I want others to understand the potential financial consequences of this annual renewal. Please check your subscription carefully, make sure you understand the renewal terms, and do not assume that cancelling after a renewal will automatically result in a refund.
I sincerely hope MentorShow will reconsider my case and help resolve this situation before it causes me further financial hardship.

Gabor Mate’s teachings are very good and the package is comprehensive. However beware, many of the masterclasses are in French with subtitles. I found this difficult as someone with restricted sight. There is no indication in the promotion that about the majority of masterclasses are in French and I felt duped. And ensure you deal with your subscription.

I wish I had come to TrustPilot before signing up to Mentor Show. I am clearly not the only one with this experience, and what some others have written describes my experience, almost exactly. Which tells me they know what they are doing.
I signed up a year ago for a course I never completed because it was too triggering. In the flow of promotional emails they send out (one every 2 days), I missed a reminder that they say was sent (was it even sent?) and had 1200 US taken from my account. I immediately objected - in a year, I hadn't used the site for more than 2 days right at the start and had no intention of using it again.
They did not want to refund anything, but after some to-ing and fro-ing they agreed to refund ⅔ of the amount, claiming a full refund was 'impossible' (since then another site has refunded me all of the money for an unwanted subscription straight away).
I feel disappointed and disgusted by their behaviour, especially as the site purports to offer support to people.
In my view this site preys on the vulnerable - and they use big names to get people to trust them.
Update:
within hours of posting this review Carla contacted me and offered a full refund (and repeated their claims that they did nothing wrong) that I have now received. It seems you have to threaten their reputation publicly for them to behave decently. I did get all of my money back but the experience has left a nasty taste in my mouth.

Reply from MentorShow
A month ago my subscription renewed quietly entirely unbeknownst to me, as it clearly did with many others. They say they sent me an email but I never received it. When they shared the information and invoice about the renewal of the 1200$ I was to pay, the email was in French - when all of their other frequent spam was sent in English. Despite my response within the hour of renewal, cancellation was not possible.
I’m only adding my review now because I’ve been seethingly angry with this horrible company for these practices.
Lured in with amazing experts, it turns out these people behind the company are vultures, scamming vulnerable people who have sought mental support.
Writing to Carla also has no purpose whatsoever. Rather than responding to every review with fake compassion maybe her attention is better focused on ensuring these practices are stopped.
What a huge financially devastating disappointment this has been.

While you have some very good content, my last experience in trying to resolve a membership renewal issue left me feeling more like someone being squeezed for money than someone being supported. This has very much soured my view.

I participated in a Gabor Mate webinar in 2025 as part of an effort to resolve issues in my life related to trauma & ADHD. I understood from the messaging in the webinar and following correspondence that I was buying a course. I didn't end up engaging with the course much, as it wasn't that useful to me. MentorShow continued to send a barrage of emails, sometimes more than 4 a week with irrelevant marketing info.
Yesterday I was hit with a 1200 dollar subscription charge. To say that I was shocked would be an understatement. This is a significant amount of money for me, and huge hardship. I would never consent to a charge like this, especially for a service that I'm not even using, nor have I ever gotten value from. It turns out a 'renewal notice' was buried amongst the sea of inconsequential marketing emails and I missed it. They refused to reverse the charge, blathely citing their 'policy', even though I clearly have not signed into their site for more than seven months and never finished the course. As a neurodivergent person I'm deeply disappointed with Gabor Mate for partnering with such a predatory company. They clearly don't care about their customers, or sincerely believe in the content they peddle.

It’s a scam stay away! They withdraw money from your bank account 1200 dollars

Stay Away! Predatory Practices are especially horrible when so many people signed up for a trauma program.
I signed up a year ago for Gabor Mate’s program. I had no clue I would be renewed for a full year for their entire platform.
I received an invoice last night for $1200 and was immediately charged. I reached out within minutes to request a cancellation and refund. I received a response this morning that they would not refund and they had sent a notice 40 days ago. I check my emails daily and know I had not seen any kind of notice for $1200. I finally found it in my Spam folder.
It appears this is their practice. I will never recommend this platform to anyone else and will be sure to share my horrible experience.
