Poor aftercare service - avoid

Following a purchase to replace my wheels on a luggageX suitcase that I've had for many years, one of the wheel rubbers split shortly after during a visit overseas. I wrote to customer services asking to have the wheel replaced, as this was literally the first time the replacement wheels were used, to be advised that " it appears the wheel has gradually deteriorated over time due to extensive use or the wheel has undergone some serious impact damage whilst travelling, by the airline / airport baggage handlers and would be classed as misuse and abuse by the aforementioned parties." This was not a satisfactory response as the wheel was fine upon arrival overseas and only split whilst in use when walking with the suitcase. I would have hoped they would replace the single wheel as it was recently replaced. Therefore I write this review in response to the poor service received and warn other customers of their poor aftercare service.

Don’t buy these wheels anymore

The wheels are of very poor quality (made in China) and at an exorbitant price and it seems to amuse customer service. They are so bad that there is a stock shortage! I have already spent more money on replacing wheels than on the price of the suitcase. it’s a real business for Luggage-X.... What’s the point of an indestructible suitcase with regularly degraded wheels? Why do you have to change the plastic part. From now on, I cut the wheel shaft with a hacksaw and replace the wheel (2 €). Only 4 or 5-star reviews are taken into account on their site. It’s shameful!

Quality not the same as before

I have previously purchased several items of luggage from this company about 5 years ago and was generally very pleased. Had to replace the wheels which wore out after a while but otherwise no issues. However, recently it appears that there have changes in the design or manufacture process even though the luggage looks the same. I purchased two large cases a few months ago and after only one trip, the handle snapped while I was carefully pulling the bag. The company referred me to their warranty but this only stated that handles were not covered for extensive use and wear and tear but this was certainly not the case here. They offered me a new handle. A few days later, before taking my return trip and before checking in the luggage with the airline, the handle on the second case snapped and the lock also came off. I see other purchasers have had these issues as well. I wonder if there has been a change of ownership of this company. They still advertise their luggage as "virtually indestructible" but that is obviously not true. I have raised a dispute with Paypal and am waiting to see what happens as I do not trust this luggage anymore and have requested that they take the good back and refund me. I have also purchased other luggage from Samsonite in the meantime

Horrible experience

Horrible experience. I have paid a really high shipping to Italy and then I have had to pay other 50€ of duty taxes ! Don’t buy if you’re outside Uk. The site is in euros, not in pounds, and this is quite fraudulent.

Stay away from this brand

I purchased a small carry on and a large suitcase from Luggagex. After 6 months the large bag had a large crack in the other hard shell, a large dent in the outer shell and one of the flip locks has broken off. I would NOT but this again.

2nd use , handle snaps

Purchased a luggage X mid size suitcase to replace a case that was damaged via airline mishandling , was around £98 which is more than I wanted to pay but thought it might be a decent case at almost £100 . Used 1st time , all good , 2nd outing pulled up telescopic handle and it snapped . Because it was just over 12 months old ( even though only used twice in total ) it's out of warranty .. would not recommend

Won't replace a new broken wheel

The wheels have worn off so I bought a set of 4 from their website as replacement. They were sent in a terrible packaging and one of the wheels wouldn't even roll. Contacted customer service and they respond with a 'install it anyway and add weight to it'. It's obvious that if one out of 4 wheels doesn't roll and also looks like having a defect in the axis, then it's a defective wheel. They didn't replied to my response to their careless reply. It was pretty much a 's*ck it', you are stuck with the broken wheel. Appalling customer service to a, not anymore, returning customer.

UPDATE : they eventually after many calls, sent two new functioning wheels.

These are our 2nd set of suitcases

These are our 2nd set of suitcases - this time for our daughter. They are light, and very tough. We've had wheels damaged in transit but can be bought and replaced easily. Highly recommended. Buy the coloured ones - much easier to spot on the carousel.

Horrible quality, do not buy

I bought a full set of these bags as being a very frequent traveler.
When receiving the looks were quite OK, but I already had a feeling the wheels, the lining and the zipper were of questionable quality.
And guess what, my gut feeling was right.
In total I did about 5 oversees trips with these bags, and in the meantime 2 out of 3 are broken to the point they can't really be used anymore. When contacting Luggage X, they simply refer to the airliners, and say I should ask them for compensation. So Luggage X does not want to provide warranty on their poor products.

So please stay far away from this company, unless you bought the bags as a display prop in your house, and you have no intention of actually using them.

Luggage-X is very low quality and durability

I bought a full set of Luggage-X cases, place on the market as virtually indestructible.

Unfortunately I can confirm to you that the marketing team should adjust this to highly destructible.

Out of my set of 3, every single case has significant damage.
The small case has a broken handle.
The medium case has a very flimsy zipper in the inside compartment which does not longer work.
The large case has a cracked shell and lost an entire wheel.

Of course of contacted the support of Luggage X, but they made it clear it's not their problem, and they simply blame it on the airliners.

So in short, the quality is bad, and the support is non existing.
Please do NOT buy any Luggage X products if you want to travel regularly or you are looking for a product that is long lasting.

*AVOID* Lock Broken Off on First Journey

*AVOID* I purchased a suitcase to travel to Canada for Christmas and the lock became detached from the suitcase after ONE journey - clearly unfit for purpose. I emailed to request a refund so I could purchase a new case for my return journey. Luggage X told me this morning I could "get a screwdriver" and screw it back on - and they hoped this would be helpful! I will certainly be pursuing this further but so you don't have to go through this *AVOID* *AVOID*
