I was referred to LifeStance Health by my former provider, and they were amazing. I loved the therapist I had at the time, which was Ahndrea Weiner, and my psychiatrist was Jonathan Ni. The two of them were attentive, warm, and authentic. I like talking with them, and they helped me immensely with my mental health, especially medication management and ensuring I was adjusting to them properly. However, the company itself was difficult to navigate when it came to payments and having to speak to an actual person, which took forever. The customer service part needs significant improvement because the website doesn't always provide all the answers for billing and changes to insurance plans.
I can no longer use LifeStance due to my change of insurance, but I had a good experience with the therapist and medical management team. However, customer service needs to improve.

Dr. Simkowitz is a very good listener, and I feel that he makes an effort to personalize my treatment plan and make changes until we find the best possible results.

I feel that the therapist reviews and remembers my case before connecting with me for my appointment. Repeating is not necessary and she seems to connect one event with another talked about previously.

Edward Parks, my therapist, has already proven to be helpful in my dealing with overwhelming anxiety. He is a compassionate & excellent listener. I feel he really cares about my well-being. I believe he feels the same way about all his clients. I thank God I found him just in time. I was very near to total despair.

Lifestance is super easy to get a hold of and help you get started with a therapist. I truly love the fact that I can do therapy in my car in between appointments and other things I have going on. Schedules are super flexible too. If you're looking to find a great therapist, give lifestance a try.

My therapist is a very good listener. I am free to vent to a professional, in an unbiased, non-judgmental way. I’ve only had 2 sessions via zoom, I did all the talking…but I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes…and having a solid plan to help me deal with m issues.

Not a good mental health facility
I have been battling Depression and Anxiety for 5 or so years now. Initially I was paired with Dr. Malini Shenava. She would be the Dr. prescribing meds. For a Tharapist I was directed to Mary Hillier. I stayed true to their guidance and direction for over a year. They suggested that my marijuana smoking was causing my issues. I then quit smoking pot for 10 months with absolutely no difference to my condition. I went on a weekend holiday and smoked a joint with my wife and the anxiety left, just like that. I asked my wife what the heck the doctor was talking about, we had just proved them wrong. After going to my next appointment with Mary, she still insisted the Marijuana was my problem, even though I hadn't smoked it for 10 months. I told Mary and the Doctor they were fired and I will seek help somewhere with a group of open minded professionals.
Skip a year or so and I contacted Lifestance in Plymouth Michigan again and seen a Doctor Curtis Norwick. He was a terrific doctor and got me off all the meds others had put me on. There was about a dozen or so. I told him I thanked him so much because not being on all the meds made me feel better. I saw him a couple time after that and he told me if I needed help to give him a call. I managed to make it about a year and I called the office to get an appointment, I was told he would get back to me within 72 hours. After a week I called again to see what had happened. All I was able to get from the receptionist was I should see another doctor. She could give me no reason and I was stymied, this was a good doctor that got me off all the meds. I then asked for the office manager. I was told they don't even have one there. That was that and I sure feel that after finding a good doctor in a field filled with quacks, the door was slammed shut on my with absolutely no reason, I pay my bills promptly. I cannot encourage this business that claims to be in it for the patience health but looks more to be in it for the patience money. In strongly urge you to look elsewhere for good quality mental health. They are not easy to find. Good luck.

I don't know how Jones came up as my name but everything I have said is fact. Dr. Norwick got me off all the unnecessary meds I was put on by a multitude of doctors.
We reached a position that when I felt I needed more help top give him a call. I was unable to reach him to talk and was just told to find another doctor but given no reason. This Doctor was working good with me and I wanted to confer with him for more help. A good doctor in this field is very hard to find.

This company's business model is an absolute disaster. This is my second review of them in 2 months. I live in Houston, TX. Today I had an appointment with a nurse practitioner for a meds check. I had to call their office to get someone to send me a link to login to the online virtual appointment. The receptionist sent me the wrong link(I'm guessing) because when I said I wanted to skip putting my credit card on file, it would not let me move forward with a link to login to my scheduled appointment. After trying 3 times, I finally gave up and went back to call their office and tell them what was happening, but because no one ever answers the phone, I sat on hold for 20 minutes while my apt. time slipped by. Now they will charge me $150 for a missed apt., which is not my fault and I will not pay it. This has happened to me 3 times now. If this is the kind of care you're willing to accept for yourself and your mental health, go ahead and use them. It's a waste of my time and energy, not to mention the absolute frustrationand anxiety it created in me because I'm doing everything in my power to make it work, but their "system of operations" is ineffective & unhealthy." I will not go there again. And be cautious about giving them your credit card to put on file because rest assured, even if it's their fault with their system of operation, they will absolutely take your money and put you into debt. Then just try to get it back..... creating more and more frustration & anxiety for you. I've been seeing mental health professionals for a very long time; this is one of the most unhealthy places I've ever seeked help. They may have some good councelors, but not being able to reach someone when it's necessary, is outrageous & pathetic. I would give them 0 stars if that were possible.
And please, Lifestance, don't send me your canned statements when you read this; do not reach out to me telling me you want to get more details on what happened. I just explained it and I stand by my two reviews I've done of your organizaton. Personally, I think this company is ill equipped to handle mental health concerns............ what good are you if you can't get in touch? Reorganize your business model, get better systems in place, or get out of Houston! Simply the worst. And as I'm typing this, I've now been on hold for another 20 minutes trying to talk to someone. Still no one answers, just that pathetic recording trying to upsell you on another type of service they'd be glad to take your money for. After being on hold for 40 minutes, that recording becomes an irritant when you're only trying to do the right thing. You are a sad example of healthcare in America.
I met with two separate psychiatrists over a two day period. Dr Sung Kang and Dr Andrew Trinh. Both told me they were uncomfortable treating me because of the medication I was on. Two of the “problem “ medications were baclofen, which is a muscle relaxant that also works on GABA to lessen anxiety. Neither had ever prescribed it for that and didn’t seem interested in researching it. I have been on it for 4 years. The other was of course, clonazepam, “the devil drug”. I have been on .5mg twice a day for about a year and had never experienced any negative side effects. I have been on and off it for 20 years, easily able to get off when I no longer needed it. Dr Trinh does not prescribe controlled substances at all, which I find difficult to comprehend as a psychiatrist dealing with mental health problems such as panic disorder and adhd. Dr Kang would only prescribe 15 .5mg pills for a very short time period. LifeStance may be a good place to find a psychiatrist if you have a simple case of anxiety and depression. But if you’re on semi complicated medication regimen, this is not for you. There is no way of knowing if they will treat your illness until you pay for an appointment, even though all medical information is provided up front. I found an experienced Dr outside of LifeStance that had no problem prescribing my medications, even increasing the clonazepam while my increase in Prozac starts working. My biggest complaint is neither one of them even discussed treatment options for my depression, which was the main point of the appointment. Very nice Drs though, very professional. Not rude in any way. I guess newer Drs have been convinced over and over about the dangers of benzodiazepines, even if the benefits outweigh the risks.
My advice to LifeStance: have some way to filter patients by their current medications prior to connecting with a Dr who does not support that treatment.

First, they tell me they are in network. I pay them my co-pay twice, then the 3rd appointment, they said i am out of network, so no appt. I found another doctor, then they charged my account 145.00$. I did not authorize this charge, and they did not have my permission. What a scam. Do not work with this horrible company. I will be getting my attorney involved.
The first person I talked to Lied and said everything would be handled, and hopefully they will refund it. Then they would not even answer my calls. I called my bank to dispute the charge. After reading all the negative reviews, I definitely will get the law involved. This is horrible, but what comes around goes around. That billing Department will hopefully get Fired.
