The worst letting agency ever!

Please don’t let a property with leaders, they are a horrible letting agency, Jamie Galloway In particular a property manager at Spalding branch is absolutely useless, doesn’t respond to emails, I’ve emailed him 4 times with no response, and we does finally email he is rude and has a pissy attitude. I actually cannot stand him.
I rented a 2 bedroom in Spalding and have had issues with these lot from day one.

I am in the process of making a huge complaint about leaders to the ombudsman. They tell you to do rent free option but ended up paying £45 a month which if you add up at some point will amount to more then the actual deposit, and they keep the money for themselves, they don’t put no protections in place by you paying the £45pcm it’s a joke. NEVER TAKE THE DEPOSIT FREE OPTION, just PAY THE DEPOSIT. And have proper protections in place.

They’re forever in your space doing visits, like I hate them. When I left the property I paid £280 for a professional clean and £350 for a repaint sent them the invoices and they charged me £350 for a professional clean, that I already paid for! They’re disgusting Frauds! They want to suck every penny out of you.

Iandlords beware

Leaders spalding gave my tenant their account details instead of mine, supposedly in error! They have held my money since the 26th of September.
Despite being told by the manager on Thursday I would be paid within 24hours this hasnt happened. Landlords avoid at all costs

A cautionary tale about Leaders letting…

A cautionary tale about Leaders letting agents

To cut a long story short, a months rent was overpaid at the end of our tenancy because I was busy with moving and had suffered an injury I forgot to cancel the standing order….simple mistake easily rectified right?

After 4 weeks of chasing and receiving numerous emails confirming that it’s been paid and even provided with two separate dates it’s left their account….. on Tuesday I was told that they had never actually raised the payment.
Each email I’ve sent I’ve asked them to confirm the payment details they have for me and surprise, surprise…. they had the wrong sort code. Yet in the modern age where electronic banking is everywhere it still may take another 5 working days to (not) receive my money back.

Since Tuesday I have sent two emails asking something very simple, has the payment now been raised and could they confirm the amount submitted….. no response.

Also it’s bloody hard to actually get hold of the right people because the house rented in Bourne was not under the Bourne branch but the spalding branch but when you contact the Spalding branch the person managing our file was from the Boston branch.

We have also received repeated emails requesting to come and do a property inspection even though we are no longer the tenants.

Morale of the story is …. landlords and renters need to avoid this bunch as they are keen to take money… but not give it back!

Poor communication and false promises

I've had an incredibly frustrating experience with Leaders (in Spalding) regarding property inspections and communication. Despite repeated assurances from the team that issues with their scheduling system had been resolved, the problems continue (It's currently month FOUR of this problem).

After multiple missed and incorrectly scheduled inspections, I was assured that my property would be handled outside of their automated system, with appointments confirmed directly with me. Yet, I recently received another automated email scheduling an inspection without my consent—proving that the promised changes were never made.

To make matters worse, they even attempted to conduct an inspection a week early, while I was out of town for a funeral, despite having already confirmed the correct date with me. This disregard for my time and privacy is completely unacceptable.

What's especially disappointing is that, before Leaders took over, I had a consistently positive experience with Hill & Clark. The team there was helpful, kind, and reliable, ensuring that any issues were handled efficiently and respectfully. It's disheartening to see such a significant drop in service quality under Leaders' management.

I've tried to resolve the matter directly, but it's clear that Leaders' internal processes are unreliable, and their communication promises cannot be trusted. I would strongly advise caution to anyone considering renting through them.

Small print in contract allows the company to raise fees with 4 weeks notice. Excuse the budget, although NI (if even applicable due to size of business) and minimum wage only comes into effect from April Leaders raise fees from 1 January. Further if tenants in-situ then punitive rates apply, 2 months rent, to cancel contract. Agent also holds onto rent for days post payment; in the age of electronic transfers there is no justification for this.

Excellent rental service

Great experience, lovely staff, informative.

Each member of staff I have dealt with at this branch are all lovely, polite and helpful. Megan has been my main point of contact throughout, can't recommened her enough!
We have been informed throughout the process from the viewing all through the referencing stage, up until the day of getting our keys. Overall I am very glad we now have leaders as our new estate agents.

If I could leave 0 stars I would

If I could leave 0 stars I would, they have made an absolute mess of our rental process, promising us we would be moving in before the house would be available due to them dragging their heels over all the relevant checks, and instead of asking for all the relevant paperwork and ID checks from day one they dragged this process out also, every time you thought they had all the paperwork they would come up with something else they needed! They are completely incompetent and this entire procedure has been made extremely stressful unnecessarily! would never recommend this company they are useless!

Great estate agents

I sold my first house with hill and Clarke, now leaders. They've always been professional, polite, keeps me informed. Got the house sold quickly and got people round that were right for the size of house they were looking for. I highly recommend leaders.
